Dear Dad
last night i came home late
and you seen me as i cried
and when you asked me how i was
i looked at you and lied
i said that everything was fine
and then you turned to walk away
and i wish that i had stopped you dad
cause there was more to say
i'll never be the perfect son
i'll never be your hier
i know that i'm a disappointment
and it's a truth that i can't bare
i know that i can't measure up
i'll never be the best
but daddy please don't turn your back
don't hurt me like the rest
it's true that you don't know me
and dad that breaks my heart
i wish that i could tell you
but there's no good place to start
i can't live in your shadow
i'll only let you down
and things would just be beter
if i were not around
i know you don't believe in me
but the things i say are true
and someday i will show the world
and prove myself to you
