I very much follow that saying. I dislike the word "perfection", and I almost only use it in negative connections.
I mean, even the greatest artists like Da vinci for instance had flaws in his works, flaws that made him famous.

Wendy Pini (who is AWESOME!!) once said that perfect is the opposite of good, I agree to that really.
If you aim for perfection from the very start you wont ever get better. And flawless artworks are not interesting
