Chapter 1 - A Whisper in the Darkness

These are a series of songs I wrote for a graphic novel I am working on called SOCOM 2035. ***Tears*** reminded me of these songs, as the poem appears in one of the books. Please feel free to comment in any way, shape, or form, but please keep any flames to a minimum.

Here's some background on the story, just so the songs make sense:

Lieutenant Jason Wolfe: Commander of SEAL Team 7, 2nd Platoon (AKA the Wolfe Pack)

Petty Officer Stephanie Edgars: A medic on Wolfe's team

Here's a little detail on how their relationship unfolded:

Volume 2: Wolfe stops an enemy general from raping Edgars

Volume 3: Wolfe says "Angels really do exist" after he barely (emphasis on barely) survives a double-dose of a lethal poison

Volume 7: Wolfe blocks an attack meant for Edgars and kills his attacker, but ultimately dies from his opponent's attack

Volume 8: Edgars mourns Wolfe's passing (some strong emotions expressed there)

Volume 9: Out of grief, Edgars tries to kill herself, but is stopped by a resurrected Wolfe

Volume 13: Wolfe sends Edgars to Annapolis, but she returns two years later after thinking he was dead. The two mate and Edgars loses her human ears (they're replaced by wolf ears)

A Whisper in the Darkness©
---------------------
By Jason Mimiaga

A whisper in the darkness
catches in her hair
she rushes down to meet him
but he is not there

When she remembers that he is gone
she can't hold back the tears
All alone in darkness
his words are all she hears

On memories she drifts on back
to the first time that she cried
He told her that he loved her
right before he died

A whisper in the darkness
catches in her hair
she tells it to go way
but no one else is there

Why'd he have to die for me
is all that she can say
he traded his life for mine
to protect me that day

Why'd I have to follow
why couldn't I just stay
Because I couldn't listen
I took his life away

A whisper in the darkness
Sends a shiver down her spine
He wraps his arms around her
and says she'll be just fine

When she looks into his eyes
she can't hold back the tears
His reassuring embrace
Helps chase away her fears

In memories she drifts on back
to the day he died
he told her that he loved her
that he'd never leave her side

A whisper in the darkness
brings her deeper in his arms
he says as long as I am with you
I'll keep you safe from harm

Why'd you have to die for me
she asks him tonight
I traded my life for yours
I did what was right

Why'd I have to follow
You didn't have to stay
Because I couldn't listen
I spent my life that day

A whisper in the darkness
catches in her hair
as he kisses her sofly
she knows he'll always be there

Jason_WolfeThis is a song I did for SOCOM 2035, a graphic novel I am working on for the PPCC anime club here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The song involves Books 7-9. In Book 7, Jason Wolfe, the main character (a Navy SEAL) dies protecting Stephanie Edgars (a female SEAL on his team). In Book 8, Edgars mourns his death; and in Book 9, Wolfe is resurrected and prevents Edgars from killing herself out of grief. I know it isn't InuYasha, but Baby Kagomae Gurl's poem (which does appear in Book 7 in an altered form) reminded me of it. Plus, several charcters from InuYasha served as references for those of SEAL Team 7. Anybody interested in reading what I have so far, contact me.
