Chapter 1 - Friend
Submitted July 18, 2005 Updated July 18, 2005 Status Incomplete | this is a poem and a message from an anon. character of mine who lost his best friend. Though my best friend is still alive (and I would not have it any other way!) this poem is just as much from my heart as his.

Friend
To the hurting…
Life is never so hard as when you've lost your…
best friend.
I know; I lost mine…
“Whenever you need me…” he said…
he promised…
And now he's gone…
You've got friends,
and you think they'll last…
forever…
Forever is Eternity, and Eternity is beyond tomorrow,
Which you are not guaranteed…
Man will break his promise,
leave you broken…
perish from the earth.
But there is so much more to life than man!
In your pain…
there is One who can heal you…
You've heard His Name…
felt Him reaching out…
But every time He came close,
you pushed away…
and drove a nail in His Hand…
for the millionth time.
…Sin is a thief,
and it stole my best friend…
a man I looked up to…
loved like a brother…
Don't let sin create that gap in your life.
Find Jesus…
Accept Him…
One day, He may be the only Friend you've got…

Its really good! I love how you ARE your charecter... My BEST FRIEND *Nat* said it was awsome too. I have lots of poems as well. Mostly about love though. Some about when I'm feeling kinda messed up. But this was really good, you should write more! COMO!!
