Chapter 1 - Veronica

As I lay outside
Staring up at the endless abyss,
Into darkness, emptiness,
A star appears,
A light to brighten
The darkness, if only slightly.
And just as suddenly,
A million more appear,
But are still only
Specks of hope
In an infinite sea
Of despair.
But then I see the moon,
A great luminescent sphere
Hovering in the sky
Conquering the night.
You are my light
My star, my moon, my angel.
When I am crushed
Beneath te pressure
Of the world,
You rescue me.
You make me want to fly with you
Despite my fear of falling.
And as long as we
Are together,
We can soar into the heavens
As I hold the world in my arms.
