Chapter 1 - expressing

I'm running from the darkness
trapped inside a dream
i may wear a smile
but things aren't what they seem

i'm living in a nightmare
affraid of what i feel
there's a battle that i'm losing
confusing what is real

i'm hiding from a heartache
my eyes cast to the ground
my heads above the water
but i know i still might drown

and I can try and fake it
but there's things i can't deny
i'm looking in a broken mirror
and my reflection doesn't lie

i'm standing in the background
i'm pushing through the crowd
and you can't hear me screaming
cause my voice just ain't that loud

there are feelings that i can't express
and words that i can't speak
but i have to hold my head up high
can't let you think i'm weak

i know i'm standing near the edge
my backs against the wall
and i can't help but wonder
who will catch me when i fall

i know that some believe in fate
have faith in destiny
but i can't see the bigger plan
God has in store for me
