Hi and welcome everybody!
Steeljren-Dag Jatarka 's the name. Sounds strange?
You know, I've given up describing my normal life in profile bios - it relates less and less with my artistic side, sad as this may be ...
So on to things that matter in an art gallery:
When did all this begin?
Started drawing at the time everyone did - when I could hold my first pencil - and never really stopped ever since.
Why do my pictures still suck?
Well, I spend far to much time doodling around instead of building up some decent skills.
Which leads directly to question number three - why do I say my art sucks?
I am a perfectionist of the most obsessive kind. There are always parts I like in my works and there are things that bother me to no end. So to me - everything I've ever done could have been done better. I actually don't know, if my pics are bad or not. I've heard both opinions, judge for yourself ;)
What do I draw?
I'm usually inclined to portraits. Most Fan-Artists seem to be. Some of my characters are original, others stolen from movies and books. Right now Star Wars is my favourite playground again, but that can and will change.
What do I use?
A happy mix of everything. I started out with charcoal and pencil, worked my way over colored pencils and acrylics. Right now I play around with airbrushes and oil paints. Usually they all end up on the same sheet of paper ;)
Do I like critiques?
YES. A heartfelt YES. As you might have read, I am pretty harsh on my own pics. I always try to identify mistakes. It's the only way you can start avoiding them. So please feel free to be critical.
If I forgot anything, feel free to ask. I don't bite, nor will I throw brushes after you.

You're work is really good!
I admire the fact that you use traditional media. I like using it as well.
I also think that you do very well with oils. I'm using them in my art class right now, and, wow! They are something different! So I can understand all the work it takes to get a nice piece out of oils.
Keep up the great work! :D

Hi and thank you!
I truly love traditional media. I have a tablet and opencanvas, too, but I barely use them. Art is supposed to be a break from the stuff I do for university ^^
And oils are something different, that much is for sure. I so want to pull a picture through to the end ... spend the 30+ hours it would take to really finish. But since I don't have them right now ... *sigh*
