First of all, you want your eggs to hatch. For them, a healthy ratio would be 500 views at least (can hatch under), unique views should be 50 and above (can hatch under), and clicks just speed up the process, you don't need clicks to hatch a dragon. Do the same thing with your hatchlings, except they need double the views and UVs.
No dragon hatches/matures if their timer is above 3.49.
Adults never die once they mature, although you can kill them using the 'Kill' option in it's Actions menu.
At least know this, and you'll do fine. Don't fret about the dragon until it has a day remaining (first digit is 1) or lower. Lemme dig up a fansite that you can rely on solely to help you.
