I go back and forth with Photoshop and Corel Painter. I mainly use Photoshop but there are some brushes I really like in painter that Photoshop doesn't have or can do.

I just got CS3 during the end of summer. I had Photoshop 7.0 before that. I would've stuck with 7.0 but I gave in. There were just too many cool brushes for the CS editions.

I think maybe 100. I got it used

Your colorin' and shadin' is extremely well--it amazes me, actually.

Oh, and your style. It ranges from cartoon-ish to realistic lookin' portraits of celebs and fictional characters. How you can do it, I don't know, but it fascinates and amazes me at the same time.

You, sir, are my hero and my idol. You have my respect and I wish to one day be as artistic as you.

Wow I'm speechless. Thats one of the biggest compliments I've gotten. I look up to a HUGE list of artist so its strange and flattering when when someone says they look up to you. Thank You!

As for art, all I have to say, and you probably hear this a lot when it comes to getting better is Practice, Practice, Practice and your drive to get better. I looked back at my gallery from the first 5 submissions to where my work is now and I surprise myself. The difference between those 2 points was of course having amazing teachers to teach me the fundamentals. But that can only take you so far. You have to push yourself to get better. Back then I just looked at comic books but now I'm looking A LOT of different artists and their different styles. I'm also joining boards and forums where I can post work and get feedback as well as look at other peoples work. That's pretty much the formula, Push yourself to get better and practice, practice, practice.

I've looked at your gallery at its looking good. In time, IF you really PUSH yourself, you won't even be looking up to me anymore. You'll probably be better than me. Keep at it and make that happen!

Hey Madonna, Thanks for the comment! It means a lot especially since this place is full of talented artists. Its easy to get lost in that mix. I'm like you too, There's times when I don't come on here or submit stuff in long stretches but for some reason I always find myself back here. Maybe cuz its the first drawing community I first joined. Since then, a lot of people have left to go other places so its nice to know that there are still people on here that still recognize my name. Wow I sound ancient right now haha. Well thanks for the comments!

Yeah I know what you mean about not wanting to abandon the place you started. Many amazing artists have moved on. Glad you still come frequently to FAC ^_^

Collabo as in one person draws and the other colors?? Something like that?? I've done that with my friend once when we both first joined this place way back. Never done it since but I wouldn't mind trying it out again. Its all about timing though cuz it doesn't work well if both ppl have busy schedules.

Yeah I'll be real busy up til November haha plus I suck at coloring but its cool that we're both photoshop savvy, I work better with grayscale and you're sweet with color.

Thank you sooo much I would love if you entered, that pic would be epic! (You can enter that one if you want I dont mind n_n) And yeah I hardly ever heard the song, I saw it on a special for 3 seconds YEARS ago before I finally managed to hear it two days ago but yeah it suits him SOOO well with how he felt and what he is screaming at the haters who believe anything the media says. Hell you can look around at some of my art and see hints of his poses (Subtle ones like the famous 'bad' hand on the hip pose) and even see a trademark of some of his 'belts on the pants' look on my characters outfits. It was him that inspired me to dance too, I danced to this guy's music when I was 5 or 6 and even younger. I feel soo horrible now for poking fun at the guy, comparing him to Orochimaru and running when i saw recent pics of him. (The guy did kinda look scary no offense) I broke down today after watching his memorial and seeing his daughter crying. But at least he is finally resting, you know this guy is good when you see his smooth criminal pose in RE4 with Leon's gangster outfit and chicago typewriter. I hope he is finally at peace away from the vulture's that are the media and eh, sorry for rambling but I had to say this to a fellow fan since everyone on my list is not paying attention to me on yahoo uu but yeah I would be honored to have you enter that pic, should I put it ups and add you to the contest?

i saw all those

star trek was was good i liked that it had some funny parts like Kirk's side effects to the shots
and the Two Socks

but it was mainly action but the lighting was too light at certain times and others to dark

Monsters I liked cuse it was funny and i liked The Alien villain and The Cockroach most mainly i liked the characters voices and funny parts

Up as you said had a good story it was funny warm and had some action and a villain you did not except at first to be so evil

and i saw Coraline in 3d i tired to watch without it for a bit but i got used to the glasses

it was cool and a bit creepy the story was kind of scary and creepy but it was good sort fo like when two words meet that are kind of similar but one of them is run by someone very evil and the other is normal

yeh i saw Bolt too not in 3d

have you seen Coraline and Monsters Vs Aliens and Up all 3d movies oh Ice Age Three is coming out soon also to be in 3d

Hey good to hear back from you hun :D Well Last year I graduated for High School :) I did pretty well in all my subjects buts thats all behind now. I'm doing work experience at a graphic company :) It's pretty cool, I'm doing Illustrations for the childrens book :) some of the images the writer wants are abit difficult but I pretty good learning skills for me. I'm trying to move forward with my artwork, try different things now. My gallery has a bit too much "Sonic" artwork ^^;

Yeah i know been a long time. Deng school must have really had you on a leash. School for me was pretty hectic but i pulled through pretty well. About the fires, yeah its crazy. We had one about 30 minutes away from my house, then once that one was done another started about an hour away along with a couple others. Its crazy.

The blog ummmm yeah is sorta dying. People are taking way too long to come up with stuff that it just became like 3 person blog. If you wanna join still that would be awesome.

(whistles in awe).. I think you really should do the Iron drawing... you drawings are good... I know that the head is at a certain angle compaired to the body but the source I used showed Iron in that particular position.... You should try to draw Tony stark in his Iron man suit but without the helmet that should be interesting! But thanks for the comment! I'd love to read more of your comments on some of my other pieces!

I think thats the only one in my gallery that has some meaning to it and I can relate with because my cousin was stationed in Iraq for months before returning home. Since this was different than the usual portraits or jokes that I usually do I just want to say Thanks for letting me know that you like it because I really didn't know how people would react to it since its a touchy subject.

Lol good point. Its a long story that evolved from my friends nick name. Plus I can't change it now. LOL when your an art student, you just become used to not sleeping much. When school starts 4hours of sleep is like the maximum I get. But since its summer I usually sleep at 2 in the morning and wake up around 9ish. Its only almost midnight so I got a couple more hours to waste either drawing or playing on the good ol Playstation.

Oh woooow well here it's 17th of August...(ya you figured that out)...
4 hours of sleep..... I only have 4 hours of sleep when I have to study for exams..... but I usually don't sleep much... uffff this school.....

When school starts I'm pretty much busy the whole semester doing drawings and that puts all the ideas that I have on my own on hold till I get a break. yo so i saw you got a pic of jack up right? so im guessin you like POTC? well today i went to barns and noble(you got them where you live?) well if you dont its a book store and i saw this rele great POTC book had a bunch of sketches and paintings in there it was great if you have one around you you should give it a looks its called the art behind pirites of the caribean and its 50 $ yeah i kno alo but its worth it ^^

Wow no way. Hmm I'll give it a look. I didn't know POTC had one. Yeah I love "Art of" books. I bought a couple myself. I have Tarzan to see how animator's do their rough sketches, Hunchback of Notre Dame for it's crazy building sketches and Star Wars for their insane sketches. You should check out the Art of Star Wars books from episodes 1-3. The artists in there are phenomenal. Look up Ian McCaig and Ryan Church. You'll be blown away. Thanks again for letting me know about that book. I'll definitely check it out when I go there.

I start school in like 2 weeks which means I gotta cram as much personal artwork before I switch into school mode and work on their art projects. If I think I could do it in a day and its something that interests me then I'm down for it but if not I don't think I'll have the time. But yeah man just let me know what it is.

Hey thanks for checking out my drawings and commenting on a lot of them. I really appreciate it. Wow cool you read my profile. I actually wrote that when I first joined here. I just reread the first part of the second paragraph and man, I hope people don't think I'm full of my self and wrote that now that I got featured. I wrote that back then just to remind myself every time I got on here and also jumpstart other artists on here who feel the same way I did and still do sometimes. wow im new here and ive never seen such a beatiful picture of the crow. he is so cute and i can not stop watching the movies that tells the story of their revenge against the people who killed their loved ones. for a person to draw that you must have a really great talent. when people told me i could draw i never believed that i would find someone like this out of many great young artist.

Thanks for the compliments and I'm glad you liked it. The coloring was done in Photoshop using their default brushes and playing with the opacity to help blend the colors a bit.

Hi there. I just wanted to pop over and say thank you so much for your comments on my pic of Michael Meyers. The thing is that I love to know what catches someone's eye when they look at my art. I like to know what they like about it or what they dislike. And if there is something that I have done wrong, I like to know what the person thinks that I could do to improve it. That is the bet way for me to learn and grow as an artist. That sounded pretty "We are the World" didn't it? Ah well. Anyway, I think you are absolutely right about the darker hue on the side of the face. I saw what you did with it and yes, that looks a thousand times better. artstix are these chunky blocks of color made out of the same stuff as colored pencils, but without the wood casing. they are extemly hard to draw defined lines with, so i sharpen them with a knife because they're so thick. anyway!
i'll take a peak at your gallery now...

Wow! well i've been drawing for as long as i can remember. But ever since i became a member of FAC i draw so much more. Before i'd only draw like one picture a month, but now i draw all the time.
