Holy crap, I finally have artwork to submit. O_O It's only been forever. Ha ha! Anyway I actually wasn't going to do as much with this drawing as I did... but it just kept growing. Originally it was just Zelda posing with her sword, but then idea after idea kept coming and well here we are. I have never attempted a nouveau drawing before... so I have to admit I wasn't really sure where to start, but I came up with a design and stuck with it. I think I might even do one for Link and Ganon as well, that might be fun!]]>Air: Aang by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:074cef7b-de29-6c2b-bb92-d9e04ea76e7c2012-08-19T16:07:37-07:00Series: Avatar the Last Airbender
Character: Aang
Medium: Pencil, paper, photoshop
Time Taken: 6-8 hours
Oh look, another drawing!! I have to admit I am surprised it took me this long to submit some Avatar fanart... It's one of my favorite shows! So I decides I would start by following the Avatar cycle. Expect to see a Water: Katara next!
I actually had a difficult time coming up with a pose for Aang. I guess Air isn't my element. I really wanted a swirling motion to illustrate the Airbending style. I finally settled on on this post though. I also wanted to experiment with color a bit on this one. I chose a blue background and I thought it might be neat to have orange and yellow near the base of the tornado, as if Aang were moving so fast he was a blur.
Enjoy!]]>Shadows of the Temple by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:2ffaaf5e-7b13-1693-97ba-f25a1b8e3d142012-08-05T14:42:17-07:00Holy crap! Is this a drawing?? Why yes it is!
Series: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Character: Link, Navi, & some Wolfos.
This piece belongs with the other two Zelda pieces I added forever ago. Now I have done one of each of the three tunics! Yays! Now what will I do. :P
Actually, this piece was an experiment for me. I wanted to try and make a picture that was done fast (well faster than I usually color) but still have the amount of quality I require from myself. I was faster for sure, and I am very pleased with the overall result. I do feel though that with practice I can do much better and be much faster.
So hopefully this will be the first of many new drawings to come. I hope you enjoy.]]>Beast of the Inferno by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:a25a4619-765d-589b-822c-b6900e79cb372011-03-13T21:09:33-07:00From: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Okay so I decided I wanted to do a set of three pictures, with the color themed after Link's other tunics. Obviously, this is the red one. :P I decided I wanted to have Link fighting a lizalfos with a lava fall in the background. Big mistake there, the lava probably took more time than anything else on the picture. It's good experience though right?
I tried a few new techniques on the lizalfos' skin and I was pretty pleased with the result. I will have to remember it if I ever draw more of them. I also noticed that there are very few references for lizalfos, so I changed the design slightly. I think he actually came out looking pretty scary!]]>Waiting for You by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:a2c7225b-6082-a58c-76c7-aaa37b6dea132011-02-28T16:53:32-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Yay another weekly challenge out on time. This one was a lot of fun for me, I found myself having a tough time pulling away from it. Shadow Link is one of my favorite bosses, too bad the poor guy is stuck in the most dreadful dungeons in the entire game. :P
I actually had the idea for this picture a few years ago but I never drew it because I was pretty uncomfortable with drawing perspective. I still am a little nervous about making it accurate, but I am better than I used to be. I also feel like you don't improve if you don't challenge yourself.
I did a lot of research on water texture and actually just ended up drawing my own. It was helpful to have them as a reference though.]]>Ordon Link by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:3374330b-106c-3767-8678-95d1fb5bdd612011-02-23T22:28:43-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Ah ha! I am getting faster! This picture was commissioned/requested by a good friend of mine. And he better like it. :P Just teasing.
So there was a bit of a discussion on this picture as to how the baby goat should look. It was difficult to decide if the goat should have horns that connected or horns at all. Eventually we decided that the horns would be connected, just smaller than the adult.
The background was actually pretty fun and I did more on it than I originally planned. I turned on Twilight Princess and used a nice spot on the game for a reference.]]>Find Your Way by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:0591fc2d-50a9-634e-047c-dd17000826302011-02-16T22:59:26-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess/Super Smash Bros Brawl
Characters: Sheik

Time Taken: 20 - 30hours
Well here is the picture for this week. It actually took me a lot longer than I had planned on, mainly because Sheik's outfit is very complicated. The background didn't take nearly as long as i thought it would. I tried some new techniques using different brushes for the stone. It seemed to save a little bit of time and still looks pretty good.
I was very sad to see that Sheik did not make an appearance in Twilight Princess, which is too bad too, I could so see Sheik leaping from the towers of Hyrule Castle, ready to kick some butt! I went back and forth on whether or not the squares should be in the picture. It is the Twilight Relm, but the squares stuck out too much the way I originally had them, so I blended them into the background a little more and it seemed to work much better.]]>Hyrule's Legend by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:f5f08849-ff73-7b11-da4b-d2ce5cfb255b2011-02-08T01:35:55-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I actually drew this picture years ago when I was in a digital art class in college. I found it a few days ago and thought it looked pretty good for an older drawing and decided to color it. I also decided that I was going to give myself a weekly challenge to draw and color at least one thing a week, so here is the start of that challenge. :P
One of the reasons I am trying to challenge myself is most of my digital drawings take too long. I am trying to learn how to color faster. I still do all the textures myself and I need to find more efficient ways of creating the same effect. With this picture I didn't try any new techniques than any of my other digital drawings, but hopefully now that I have started this challenge, I will come up with new techniques.]]>Lily's Grove by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:4aefd180-5b70-1f23-dd0d-638918e6a9cc2010-11-09T20:16:22-08:00Hey I am getting better! It didn't take me a year to finish this one. :P
So for starters, I am very pleased with this one. It's actually going to be for someone else, but I was so proud of the final piece I wanted to post it. Because this was for someone else, I really pushed my skills to the limits (and my computer too!!). I have been working on this for about a month now... I was actually about halfway finished with this and went back to work on it to find that the file had been corrupted, which meant a week's worth of work was lost. But I managed to make all that up in four days. Not bad huh? :P
As for inspiration... I guess you could say the person who this belongs to is the inspiration. There is also a little poem I wrote for the piece, but I doubt I will post it here, since no one reads these right?]]>King of Halloween II by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:ac4defd9-7f86-04dd-87e1-e07734caab752010-10-07T19:58:06-07:00Happy Halloween everyone!!! So I actually started this last year and never finished it. I am so bad sometimes.
This was my own original character and this is actually my second time drawing him. The old one is in my gallery somewhere, but it's been a while and I must say, I like the new one much better. :P I kept the design of the character for the most part, but just made a few changes to make him easier to color.
I spent a lot of time (probably too much) on some of the small details, which are sadly a little lost due to the smaller image size. But at least the spider web can still be seen. :P]]>The Promised Pathway by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:bf1f2be7-f082-e96e-9a21-229e5d161c592010-08-11T19:23:23-07:00Anime: Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
Characters: Meier Link and Charlotte
Okay so it's been a while since I submitted any art. Well I decided to break that cycle. :)
I have been working on this for the passed week now and I am so happy to finally have it finished.
I absolutely love the movie Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (I am hoping the same director will make another) and I haven't done any artwork from the movie in years. I thought it would be nice to do the cute couple instead of D fan art. now I have to admit, Charlotte was really difficult to draw, but I am so pleased with the end result.
I am also really pleased with the background. I really love the way the stained glass came out. I tried a few new techniques and I think it all worked out really well. Hopefully the next time it won't take me so long. :P]]>Sky Boarder by DreamOfFireurn:uuid:aaaae878-602b-2e76-e47f-758d7b1722f42010-07-26T22:39:22-07:00=)]]>New Year Alucard by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:3da88f2d-cf45-e9c0-5ea7-540f9152595f2008-12-31T15:50:00-08:00Well obviously I am not dead... close to it though. Anyway, Happy New Years everyone!!!
This is actually a late Christmas present for a friend... but I thought it might be nice to share it. :)
I think the most difficult part about this entire thing was the background. I had a hard time trying to figure out a good color for it. Bleh... I think it could use a little improvement but my computer will die if I work on it more. ^ ^ The coat was really fun though... I guess I like flowy fabric. >: D

This looks nothing like what I saw in my head. It started off with a lot more birds (but I got lazy), and a lot more simple (the clouds and Kakashi snuck in there . . . . ) and . . . stuff.

So! Here's some original work! I haven't done a dragon in a reaaaally long time. In fact, for all the dragons I used to draw, I think I have maybe . . . one or two in my gallery? If that. But really, I love drawing dragons, and pretty skies, and I don't like cityscapes that much, but it was actually pretty painless to paint.
This whole picture was a breeze, which is a nice change of pace for me, I think. :)]]>Punk'd! by Papercut_Dragonurn:uuid:18928c4e-738a-a52a-f94c-7ea865b9e1ee2007-09-13T18:05:30-07:00Ok!
Bleach Shinigami in mostly 1970's punk style!
-Kenpachi is a Hell's Angel. Yes.
-Yachiru is Yachiru
-Byakuya is such a tease . . . .
-Hitsugaya likes the part where you put on the eye makeup.
-Matsumoto IS Cyndi Lauper. Minus some of the weirder clothes. But those are Cyndi's earrings, tanktop-thing, and belt, and wrist-and-hand thingers.
-Ukitake is the more traditional punk. With flame boots. Which you can't see yet, really, but I'm gonna color this somewhere along the line and THEN you will see flame boots. XD
I'd also like to apologize to Kenpachi's crotch, which I probably shaded incorrectly, for alas, I don't have a 6'7" man to put on tight leather pants and pose for me. :|

Yes.
I did just use real paint for fanart.
This picture drove me crazy because, for one thing, I had no references. Usually, when I'm painting with real paint, I have a photo reference or a real thing sitting in front of me, telling me colors and values and, most important to me, temperature. In digital art, there are some things I, at least, can't create well and temperature is one of them. There's something about trying to create true temp. with pixels that just doesn't . . . work. That's also the reason this is a much stronger piece in person - your eye reads the temperature better and it's more interesting.
The other thing is, trying to photograph this picture so that the colors stayed true to the real painting was impossible. Mostly the thing turned out into this ugly, ugly red-orange photo- or it was way too light. Nothing that can be fixed with Photoshop, anyway. *Twitch*
I love these kinds of skies. ^___^

And then my sister was like, Put Ishida in there!
So I did. :P
This is really scribbly and crappy and I'm sorry! I wanna make it prettier. But right now I'm working on something that is for once NOT fanart, so maybe when that's done I'll come back to this.

Um . . . I don't think it worked, lol. I need a job. I should be working on bookmarks. I could be doing homework. I'm feeling this need to actually come up with my own art and not draw other people's crap. I guess that's four years of art school weighing on my conscience. Too bad I can't trade bored for apathetic.
I love that time of night in the summer when the sun set a couple minutes ago, and the sky is this amazing shade of blue, and the land is dark and it makes the lights and the sky seem so bright. This started out as me wanting to draw some other Bleach character, and I thought, Grimmjow would be fun, so I doodled and used lots of warm colors and brush strokes for energy and then . . . my tablet died.
So I did some of this with a mouse, which wasn't working too well, so I borrowed a friend's tablet, but the pressure sensor wouldn't work, so I tried to reinstall the tablet driver, only I ended up deleting the one I had. So I reinstalled and uninstalled it about five times before I realized that when I rebooted the computer, the driver would . . . vanish. So I had to install the driver and then not restart the computer.
Which meant that every time I turned my computer on, I had to install the tablet before I worked on it.
And then I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for a background, which was originally just a flat color, but with the advice of my sister ("it sucks!") and my friend ("look through the manga"), I came up with what you see now.
But! But it's done, and I really like it, and now I can go do something else, yay!

Please please pretty please take two seconds of your life and view the detail here!
Ok! This is another painting that I did that was inspired by a famous artist''s painting - this time it''s Pieter Bruegel the Elder''s "Return of the Hunters."
And by inspired I mean I took pretty much the whole composition, lol. But this one of the few paintings I saw in ninth grade Art History 1 and cared about - it stuck with me for a long time.
And yes, I DID just draw Hitsugaya. Again. *Slinks off*
I did want to change the mood a little - this situation is a bit more threatening than hunters returning. So I changed the sky around; you wouldn''t believe what kind of difference that little strip of yellow sky made.
So is there a story behind this? Why are they out in the middle of nowhere with their swords out and ready? What''s with the dragons? I dunno! Go make something up. I''m gonna get away from this computer, ''cause my eyes are seriously dying.

Well! This started with my sister and I bored on the subway in Washington D.C. (called the "Metro"), and she was saying that if Kenpachi "Jingle Bells" Zaraki would take up two seats of the Metro and there was this old lady scared of him, wouldn't that be great ha-ha.
So I was telling a friend of mine about this as I was drawing it, and I said I wanted to put some other Bleach characters in there, and somehow that turned into Ichigo with hot pants. That was all her. I swear. And then, naturally, Ishida had to be in there, and he's a doctor ('cause his dad . . . yeah). And then we wanted Rukia in there but we decided on Byakuya instead, because he's got these hair decorations, and it was funny at 2 in the morning to make him the weirdo with things on his head.
And if you have not seen the Bleach art book scans, you are really missing out, 'cause there's a picture (canon, now!) of Hitsugaya's gigai in a trash can. But he also serves to balance out the composition! Yes! I actually thought about that kind of thing while making this!
Oh, and yes, that is Renji plastered to the back of the Metro in a monkey suit.
Bleach+Metro=Bletro, I defy all laws of perspective and subway car floor plans and people size ratios, this is crack!art and not to be taken seriously kthankscomeagainsoon. *Thumbs up!]]>Eddin "DaWolff" the Wolf by texas_luverurn:uuid:c2c96215-469b-5246-cd97-a04f2108065e2007-06-13T20:03:55-07:00FINALLY...on a role ppl!

I think I really captured that look in his face. Chris looks at me like that all the time...well, not all the time since we're only together every now and then...which explains why i get that look in the first place...that desperate, sad, 'its gonna be okay' look... -_-
yeeeeahhh i find that i draw him with his shirt off quite often...i guess i'm just better at drawings a guy's anatomy with the shirt off ...*shrug*..........and i just love 'im with his shirt off x9

Lot less people. But, see the mirror? And the whole "looking at the viewer" thing? Yes? No?
Well, if you get it, you get it, and I appreciate you for it.
Um, this picture would not get finished. It's still not finished. But I'm ready to move on to something else, thanks. :)

Somewhere deep inside of me is a girl who will never escape the influence of American comics - thus, the background, which I blame X-Men comics for. ^_^

Game: Zelda Twilight Princess
Character: Link
OKay well I have been working on this for three weeks now, so I am really happy to finally be able to post it.
First off I must say, that it is way more difficult to color in Photoshop than I originally thought. This is actually the second time I have tried to color this picture. I got about halfway through and realized that i didn't like the way his skin came out... So I redid everything.
I am really happy with this one though. Hm... the most difficult part by far was the hair and the chain mail. *laughs* I think I spent most of my time working with those, mainly because I decided to be stupid and draw each strand of hair. (That's a no no next time I color with this program)
Well anyway. Hope you all like it. ^ ^

From: Eragon
Well here is the last Eragon chapter I will post. I hope you have enjoyed them. I have... but at the same time I am really glad to be finished with this project... it seems like it has taken me a lifetime to complete them.
Spoiler!!
With how important this scene is in the book, there was no way i could not draw this chapter. So hooray! Durza dies and Eragon is horribly scarred. *laughs*
End Spoiler!
I actually had a lot of trouble with this scene... I was trying to find an angle where you would see the "action" and also the cut on Eragon's back. (Since it's important) I have to say though... I had a lot of fun working with the scar. I added a lot of purple around it to make the scratch look bruised. I hope that came over well.
Oh and I know in the book the Shade has black armor... I honestly tried to keep it as close as I could... but he looked so monotone... so I added more color to it. Don't kill me Eragon fans.
The background was also a bit of a pain... I wanted to make it blue again... but that looked horrible... so I made it orange and Durza disappeared... In the end... I added some purple and gray and well there you have it. I think it turned out alright. In all honesty... I don't really care much. I am just happy to be done.

From: Eragon
Yay! One down... hm... three to go? Maybe it's two... I can't remember. It doesn't matter I am finished with another one. Yay!!
Spoilers:
This scene is not long after Eragon, Murtagh, and Saphira rescure Arya. They find out that she is wounded and Eragon attempts to heal her.
End spoilers:
*laughs* I really like the look on Murtagh's face... I didn't mean for it to come out this way, but he looks like he is thinking "You have no clue what you are doing, do you Eragon?" :P Maybe it's just me. Anyway... this one took me a bit longer to finish... I really wasn't sure what to do for the background this time. I was originally going to have a nice desert scene... but that idea died quickly after I finished the last one. (The colors would have been too similar so I decided to go with this idea.) I am happy I did. I think it came out nicely. :)
Well hope you all enjoy. :)
