yeah i know.. do you have a dev account? I know what you mean too, the only ones that get recognized these days are the ms paint drawings or the really really really good drawings. A lot of the really good artists have left too :/

Thanks for the tutorials, I was pretty lazy for with this one, I new the wings looked bad but didn't feel like fixing them e.e Horses are tough to draw, i used to be really good at them and then suddenly lost it, I guess I keep thinking of horses as big kittens so thats why I make them look closer like cats than anything else.

Just replying back to your comment on my DB dragon. Have you ever seen the show? That's just how they're laid out, it's bad anatomy, i know it bothered me to draw it like that, but i wanted to keep the style. I'm thinking about doing a more realistic version of him soon.

Lol, I'll help you if you want. click on the forums and log in like you would regularly on the site. to to the introduce yourself topic *should be the first one* there will be alot of topics there. Under 'Important Topics' first row click on one of those topics, *i used the first one* and say your new to the topics or something* then all i did was go back and, down under 'Forum Topics', click on the titles and reply to them till i had 20 posts. It'll tell you how many you've posted, so it's easy. Most of the forum topics there are just new people. I just said things like 'welcome to fac' or 'hope you like it here'.

after you ahve 20 you'll be able to post in any topic you want. ^^

yeah i had that problem too at first. It's because you have to become a full forums member by getting 20 posts in the 'sandbox'-_- it's annoying, but once you get 20 posts there you can post anywhere.

Ah, saw that comment you left on that old dracan of mine. Hard to tell the gender, right? That was more or less the point when I designed them. I mean, with the average reptile (or bird) you can't TELL whether it's male or female at a glance... the differences are subtle and you have to know what to look for.

When it comes to my dragons, they've always been fairly androgynous, there are no real shape or proportion differences between male/female, but I did decide early on that I'd use the nose horn as a gender difference. It's stayed that way for quite awhile, actually...

Sorry for being dogy, if that's the way I sounded. It's just that when people complain that Reptillian animals shouldn't have outward body parts gets on my nerves. It's one of my main Pet Peeve's if you know what I am saying. Since Fantasy is Fantasy and nobody knows exactly what it will look like then theres really no wrong way to draw them. But I suggest this if you see any of my images that states R/NC17 rating and has Dragon Anthro for the image then please DO NOT look at it. I really am getting tired of people complaining about the reptilla organs and everything. I draw the human figure because I love it's shape not because I am so sexual crazed asshole who has nothing better to do. And when I do draw something like that it's not in that sexual way, I express myself in those images. So please understand I don't do it for stupid reasons, I do it because I enjoy the life of it and because it's part of nature.

Thanks for the comment although I really didn't like the way your phrased it. If you don't think the design should be on a shirt then I am not offended it's just the words you used. If you read the description it said it's for a Contest on Deviantart, so it might not be put on a shirt, it all depends on how the contest turns out.

2)A dragon has NO definite size shape or feature.
3) I'll draw dragons my way, you draw them your way.
4)Horns don't have to do anything, there are a very wide variety of horns

I tried to fix that one pic that wouldn't scan right in the way that you mentioned but our scanner has an auto-crop system that I really hate.

I know that the spikes are part of the bone of the dragon. And the dragon (I know it doesn't look like it) is looking off toward the sun (sort of).

I don't like using the term "copied" since it tends to imply "stolen"... but you are right there is a lot of resemblance between the two and I've commented on both. It's not copied-as-in-stolen because there are still a number of differences between the two. Which means that either one artist used the other's as a reference, or that both artists used the same (other) reference for their pictures. And hey, that stuff happens. Have you seen how many pics of videogame characters were done off of their official pics? Tons and tons of 'em. Some people just don't have enough confidence to do original poses for their drawings.

Ah, so that's what you were trying to say. With the aeon MLP's as examples, I can't explain it, I just drew them according to my style, trying to combine elements of their FFX appearance with "pony" traits, and that's how they came out.

Call me dense, but when you asked "why do you draw them like toys when you can get them to look alive", you lost me.

I draw whatever inspires me, and that includes strange MLP crossover chars. The first two I did were of FF7 Cloud & KH Sephiroth (both near the top of my gallery). My sister had an ide ato actually try making a Sephiroth custom MLP toy, and I took off with that idea to create the drawing. It was supposed to be a pictorial reference, which explains the style of their wings.

However, in doing more MLP crossovers I abandoned the idea of trying to sketch them as an actual MLP custom toy might appear. I guess then that I just draw them incorporating my usual style....

Um, yes, I did take and upload a few shots from my room. You can only see about half of it from the pictures I took (my room's not exactly organized, and the wallpaper sucks...).

Anyway, yes the Cloud MLP I did has small wings -- as stated, I drew them in the style of the old MLP <i>toys</i>. And Cloud's wings are actually <i>larger</i> than they would appear on an actual MLP toy....<br />

Farther down my gallery you can spot a "Cloud MLP Redux" where I re-drew him (including, among other things, feathery wings), but it didn't turn out as much as I hoped it might, so I can't say which one's better.

Once again I feel a little flattered by your reactio nto the crits I left on some of your pics . . . no, really. I always have doubts about how someone will react when I leave a comment/crit on one of their pics, and every time I've been relieved to hear I'm appreciated. I recall you asking how I pronounce my username -- "strata" then "drake". Pretty easy once you get the hang of it, or you can juts call me 'Strata' for short like other people do.
