Like, for example , if someone drew and coloured a horse with no background they would only win third. But if someone drew and coloured a horse with a full background, they would win 1st.

well, difficulty is that it doesn't look like a cover for a book when you draw a whole background to it... I think you should leave it open for it (especially because its no fair to those who already entered - they didn't know it)

hi, =) I have to agree it takes a bit long but you are the one who's hosting this contest so you can do whatever you want. What I would advise is that you keep this contest on for a week or so, maybe just a few more days, it doesn't matter. Just put it on the forum, there aren't so much people who look at the forum, but it might give one or two people who enter. And, when that happens you close the contest for entering, and wait for ther entry. And, about the prizes =P, its more about the honor of winning, the prizes doesn't really matter, its even very nice of you to offer these (original!) requests. btw, I have asked a few more people if they wanted to join, so...
P.S. Sorry that you have to wait so long for the request of you rhorse, Phoenix...I am just a little bit busy with a thousand things, sorry for that =(

He died because of a Sand colic.The stable owner didn`t call the vet until it was to late. I`m still mourning over him.

i'm doing fine. i had fun on the trip..except for those 9 hour airplane ride. DANG IT! i just burned my alfredo noodles...lol i whipped up a few drawings in germany, now i just have to finish them. its great to be back..i'm starting a hard college life in about a week.

i have no idea what dpi our scanner has but i can tell you the brand. "LEXMARK X1185" its a scanner, fax, printer and it was only 60 dollars :)

its german for grandma(oma) and grandpa(opa) their german and sometimes we use german words (not alot though) and traditions :)

oh dont be jealous. i have to see my opa, and he's a nutcase XD but he is helping pay for my college courses,so is my oma, and guess what?? *jumps up and down crazy* he's buying me a really good laptop..and hopefuly photoshop with it. but i hope i make it through...lol. he's a doctor so i hope he doesn't try to take my blood or anything..

Awwwwww! Pheonix is an awesome horse!!! I have four well actually, my family owns four, we have two ex-racehorses that we rescued too! And two welsh ponies who have the full attitudes of horses. Our pony mare acts like a princess.... :P

Okay... what I did, is that I sent an email to this person I met on HorseCity.com (very nice people there if you are interested) He/She (I'm not sure) has access to alot of racing info... you just give him any info you have about your horse, and he will give you a list of when and where your horse won a race... it is then up to you to find that specific track website, contact the track Photographer and request copies of the pics. I think it costs money though... but I think it would be sooo worth it!

Do you know what your boy's show (racing) name is? My boy is Nobella Prize... but I gave him the nick name Prince. I like the name Phoenix, though. Does he jump well? Me and prince have only jumped small jumps... but he does rather well. I think he likes it.

this will make you cry...

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride? Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait. For Dan was half drunk by this time. But he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff. Now Dan was ready to ride to the point But only after he'd smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride, Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, And Dan started trying to make a pass. A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.) "Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." With all of her might, she pushed Dan away: "Please take me home, I don't want to stay." Dan cranked up the engine and floored the gas. In a matter of seconds they were going too fast. As Dan drove on in a fit of wild anger, Jenny knew that her life was in danger. She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, But he just got faster as they neared the town. "Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied. I really went out for a moonlight ride." Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash. "Oh God, Please help us! We're going to crash!" She doesn't remember the force of impact. Just that everything all of a sudden went black. She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble, And heard, "call an ambulance! These kids are in trouble! Voices she heard...a few words at best. But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. Then wondered to herself if Dan was all right, And if the people in the other car was alive. She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad. "You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad." These voices echoed inside her head, As they gently told her that Dan was dead. They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do. But it looks as if we'll lose you too." "But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried. "We're sorry, Jenny, they also died." Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done I only wanted to have just one night of fun." "Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim, And wish I could return their families to them." "Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied, And that it's my fault so many have died. Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?" The nurse just stood there-she never agreed. But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes. And a few moments later Jenny died. A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best To bid that girl her one last request?" She looked at the man with eyes so sad. "Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad." This story is sad and unpleasant but true, So young people take heed, it could have been you.

oh yeah. we can work out the details through email ;) now i'm all sparked up to draw some artwork on it XD

throughout his foalhood into stallionhood he is mocked by shiner. spirit soon chases them out and they both join a small batchelor herd and of course shiner has them all mock battlecry..probably because they fear his markings. the plot really happens in his adulthood. he is sick of them so he wonders off and finds the herd which i wrote on your pro yesterday :). his markings attract horses and man alike and they think he's has some special powers (or spiritual?)unlike other wild horses he has stayed with man and learned things about them.
oh and how he got his name.
he was born on a night when a tribe of indians (lol XD) were going to war on the approaching settlers, they screamed battlecrys throughout the night. (XD that sounds corny but i think you know what i mean :)

i read a chap in your story.(later on i'll read more when i have time when people aint bugging me lol) i think you got alot of talent and you got alot of great reviews so i think your the perfect person to help write it. ummm about your Q's now..lol hopefully i can remember them all.
yes battlecry is rains son. when he was born alot of the horses believed he was the eagles blessing and that he could probably fly because of his unique markings. he has a normal foalhood except he bullied around by shiner about his markings. shiner is one of spirits new mare's foals. the mother is black with all white socks and a white patch over her left eye and a white "splat" shaped patch on the top of her rump. her name is thistle. she is the least liked mare in the herd. dang it i forgot the rest of the questions..i'll go back and read the over and answer the rest XD lol

sure you can help the writing! i think we both fit with that. i'm better at telling my stories through my artwork and your a good writer and you love it too. (which i dont really but i tried..) if you want to write a story about him i'll give you some pointer and tips about battlecry. heres a summary about how i've "thought" about my story.

battecry grows up and gets tossed out. one of his half-brothers (a black paint horse named shiner)always teases him and challanges him. battlecry wonders around and finds a herd with a stallion but instead of fighting off the stallion like alot of people write about. i think battecry will just sneak out some of the stallions daughters, 4 mares. his fav mare is called flash, an white apaloosa horse. (her pic is in my gallery) Shiner comes along and wants to steal his mares. they fight and battlecry accidently falls down a gully or something deep but only deep enough that it fractures his leg. he wonders around in pain and starving for water and thirst. he finds a farm with horses. he sneaks in and revives himself and gets attracted by a mare in one of the nearby stables. battlecry gets distracted and the farmer finds him and traps him in the corral that he wandered in and helps him. when battlecry gets better he hears of the other horses saying that the farmer wanted to cut him(make him a gelding) and use him for a riding horse. battlecry escapes by jumping over the corral and goes to find his herd and revenge on shiner. if you need more along the way just ask me. thanks alot i glad someone is interested in helping me make up a story of battlecry. i hope this isn't too long sorry for my blabbering XD lol. just ask me if you have any questions :)
