For FireFox:This is a little complicated.
First, I painted the background black. (This should be done on the very bottom layer, of course.) I then created another layer above the black and used the leaf-pattern paintbrush to make the design. Then, I went to Image>Adjustments>Exposure and turned up the first bar. I then duplicated that layer and Radial Blurred it. (Filter>Blur>Radial Blur.) Next, I went into the overlay menu (double-clicked the layer and then went to the Gradient Overlay tab.) and messed until I liked the effect. Lastly, I gaussian blurred it to give it an even more glow-ey effect. (Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur.) Lastly, I went to the very bottom layer and made it's layer-type be Hard Light. If needed after this, you can Gaussian blur it again. Makes for some neat effects. (LOL. This is like having my own tutorial. XD)
For Houndoom:
This one is more easy.
First, I used Filter>Render>Clouds to get a base. Then I went to Filter>Render>Difference Clouds and used Ctrl+f to repeat this until I got something that looked like fire. I then used a paintbrush to paint some of the picture black with a lower-pressure of brush. Then I went to Filter>Liquify. Lastly, I went to Image>Gradient Map and then chose fiery colors ranging from yellow to orange-red. That is where you can stop, but for my purposes, I used Filter>Blur>Radial Blur to make it go around a bit. There you have it.
