;/ Man, my dad JUST gave us this speech about fending for ourselves and being more independent(but you have to be independent AND smart). He told us not to let loose too much and concentrate on studies. And because we start going to college, we're basically adult. We just have to make the right choices and try not to get scammed and use our time wisely! ;>>>>

Man, I feel even more nervous about college now. I often question myself about rather or not I make the right the choices. People tell me I'm to friendly. How would I know if someone is trying to take advantage of me or not? Do you have any advice?

In a mental sense, if you mean people taking advantage of you by asking you to do things for them that you'd rather not do, just learn to say "no." I'd say plenty of people have trouble saying "no" to their friends because they're scared saying no will make them not like them, but if they were real friends, they would understand why you say no(if you can explain it to them without just plain out shouting NOO!!).

Being friendly isn't necessarily bad either! But being too friendly is just making yourself seem like an idiot(seriously). If you can't stand up for what you think is right and notice when people only see you as a "tool" and not a "human," then you're no more than playing into their hands like an idiot.

Learn to fend out on your own. You're gonna go itno college, and you're gonna have to learn to be independent. Which means you're gonna have to learn to be strong on your own. So be observant with the kind of people you meet. If they're jerks and laugh at other people, think twice about doing a favor for them. Or lending them money. It's just not right.

You'll get the hang of picking out the "using" people later. ;] Hope I helped. I feel like a mother. ;U A very young mother. With no child.

I actually have a chance to do what I want to do in life. I'm not going to jeopardize that by letting a couple of people ruin it by taking advantage of me.

Man, I'm beginning to feel a little excited now. Wow, isn't that weird, a person actually being excited about going back to school?

And just out of curiosity, what kind of career do you want to do after you graduate?

;P I'm in the Biomedical field in high-school. I'll pursue the medical career in college, but I'll branch off and become a plastic surgeon!(They make great money annnndddddd it's quite an interesting field) XP. <3 HEHEHEH

And I'm glad you're taking initiative and making yourself more active and strong now! ;o From how I've talked to you and seen you talk to people, you definitely don't seem like an extremely timid and easy-to-take-advantage-of-person at heart! ;o
