oh my god, poor you! that is a problem. I had the same one during my mocks. the advice I will give is that your life at home and stuff is more important then stuff on the computer, you have to put that first, so maybe you need to take a break from both sites, leave a note saying that your leaving for a while, people will understand, catch up on your work at home, get up to date, then when you have a spare few days get back on the net and take a while to answer all messages and stuff like that, you may even have to delete some if you find its ruling your life.

I'd say leave FAC, everyones moved to DA anyway, then you'll just have one site to keep track on, and say on DA that you will try your best to answer messages but don't be offended if I don't. about not being able to access DA at school, just pick a day when you can at home and answer away.

also if your getting stressed with school work, take a few minutes to go for a walk and clear your head, always helps me. ^^

hello there wuz up!

all right, I can give some tips on shading here (a tutorial is a bit to much work for meXD)
The main thing you can do easily is: have a look at pictures. Draw them, copy them, just look how the shades are on pictures. You'll see that you know pretty soon where the main shading always is. I always look at pictures just to see how a pose or shade in reality looks like. The parts of the body where no light shines on (the belly, mostly also the back legs) are darker, and the parts where the light is shining on (the back, and mostly also the head) are lighter. One tip I can give is: have a look at the muscles of a horse (when you know the main shading). Where "fat" muscles are, there's a bit darker shade underneath it. Don't worry, when you've done shading some time, you get a "feeling" for where you have to shade =) Don't be scared of my talkXD
About blending:
It depends on which media you use, actually. Charcoal is easily blended and whiped out, some pencils aren't so easy. I can, however, give some tips on how to blend with pencils in colour. Black in the light, if it doesn't "shine"  gets a bit brown like. SO when you have a "dull" black horse with it's back in the light, you can draw some brown over it (not to much). When the horse really shines, it's better shaded with white in stead of brown. Brown horses are just shaded brown, whatever colour brown they are (if you want to make it a bit more impressive, you can use a bit red through the fur colour) . White horses are shaded in (believe me, but don't use to much of the purpleXD) grey, blue-ish and even purple. I wouldn't say that the use of purple looks good (purple is only used with very much light, actually) but oh, just give it a try =)
 
I hope this helps, and that you don't feel even more confused... Just try, look at pictures, and you'll find out for sure!

oh yeah for the animations i use macromedia fireworks and flash 8. let me warn you that these are like 400-800 dollar programs..they should lower it XD

well i do heaps of thing wit her, flatwork, trail riding (which she loves) especially novalties, (Casper is the best at novalties), and jumping (she is getting the confidence now to jump decent sized jumps without refusing, cause she gets really unsure of herself and freaks out at the bigger jumps (so she needs lot of encouragement... heh heh).
Um, yeah i also go to a riding club and have rally's every month and get lessons and stuff......

crazysparkles told me she didn't forget about the story on battlecry, she told me she didnt like it so she might redo it :) you can get a cheap price on those photoshop programs :D on ebay..i got photoshop 7 for about 60 dollars..turned out it was a bootleg though but hey..it works :) im not a criminal LOL XD i wouldn't get the most advanced one though i heard it was really buggy. i'm working right now on a few drawings in photoshop and i'm enjoying it *dances* i'm still gonna do traditional art though because i dont want to lose the skills i got so far. computer graphics is a pretty fun class. some of our members restarted a club and it turns out that they voted me for treasurer, and my friend got president :) i hope everything will turn out well. have a good day!! :) :D

its not photoshop but macromedia freehand 10. its alot more advanced then photoshop and takes alot of practice..some people dont learn how to use it because its really frustrating but when you know how to (and convert it to photoshop for finishing touching which i didn't do on this) it can be a pro peice of art..i'm still learning how to use that thing..XD its hard to get though since they stopped making it..the lowest price i've seen for it is around 175 to 300 dollars..its good though :)

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride? Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait. For Dan was half drunk by this time. But he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff. Now Dan was ready to ride to the point But only after he'd smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride, Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, And Dan started trying to make a pass. A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.) "Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride? Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait. For Dan was half drunk by this time. But he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoked and Dan took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff. Now Dan was ready to ride to the point But only after he'd smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride, Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, And Dan started trying to make a pass. A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football.) "Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb." Thankyou for the lovely comments again! Oh! On one of your comments you asked what prismacolour is like! Weeeell! Its really reeeally good. I gave a huge description to Siriuslymarauded about them. Aaand  I'll try to remember it all!
 Well! They are a wax based lead in the pencil that makes the colours extra bright. The pencils come in a huge variety of colours and kinds. Like watercolour and verithin and normal. They're all guud! Verithin are harder pencil leads that can be sharpened to a extremely thin point. That makes them good for fine details.
Prismacolour is also very easy to put on paper. You know with ordinary pencils to get a bright colour- you just have to about rip the paper to get that colour because you're pressing the lead so hard. You don't have to do that with prismacoluor at all! It glides across the paper so easily and completely covers the surface. Opaque. And they're the brightest colours you can buy I think. They're excellent quality too!
So! I'm completely advertising here but they are really worth getting!
The only downside I can think of is that they are expensive, and that they are difficult to erase again. But if you find yourself in a sticky situation you just blend the colours around it together with a special blending pencil and it covers up your mistake. Bu t as long as you're careful its not much of a problem!

I'm glad I've haven't fallen off a bike for years. I can't anymore though. I sold it because it was getting too small! The last time I did that I fell on a cattle grid (cycling in the snow and ice isn't a good idea!) and cut my knee. I went back home and since my knee was sore - not suspecting anything bad. I pulled up my trouser leg and saw the gash with a tiny bit of blood running down to my ankle. I hate blood and I almost fainted! Woosy old me! ^-^ I was ill for the rest of the day.
 
*lol* My friend did that once too. Except she flew. Yes flew. She phoned me up the day after and before she even said hello she said, " I flew!" What she did was she hit a pot hole and flew off into the air ( this is all going down hill- hence the flewing! - *lol* flewing ... ) and then she hit the ground landing on her wrist and breaking it. Ooooch! So its not only you! ^-^

I've been out walking all day. I worked it out on a map and I did about 6 and a half miles. I've got blisters on my heels. Rubber boots really isn't the best thing to wear when you're out walking. ^-^

You'll never guess, my mam saw the orcas again!!! Earlier today at  about 2 o'clock, the same 3 in the pod. There was a big male, a smaller female and a baby- you could see their fins how far they stood out the water when they surfaced!
  I got home late tonight. I stayed back after school to work on my painting in art 'cause I'm such a stubborn perfectionist and I was behind. So I needed to catch up and I stayed there for abut 2 hours... it was weird being in school when there was nobody else there- except the cleaners. Really eery and echoy. Well that's all my news for now!

Good luck with your horse show!! ^-^ Your so lucky to have horses. I used to go horse riding on occasion but it was so so so expensive. It was £16 per half hour, I think, and when a $ is roughly 60pence... that makes it ... a lot of dollers. Roughly about $27 per half hour... ! 0.0

*lol* I think the heat is getting to you! Whee! I am doing this request for sword-dragon and it is turning out to be one of the best of the best pictures I've ever done! Seriously. I've been working on it all day today and I sketched it out yesterday. WHee! It takes a lot of time to draw on every single hair on a wolf! Too hot is it? Wow. I have forgotten what that is like. We have had a bad summer now for about 2 years. And I am so desperate for some sun!! The other day I was out and I got sunburnt around my glasses. *lol* It looked daft! I've got the palest skin ever... people say I look ill sometimes in certain light *lol*. So I burn easily.

But you'll never guess what I saw earlier! Real live killer whales/ orcas, just outside in the sea! Really! It was amazing. That's the 4rth time I've ever seen them and the 2nd time this year! Its all misty here right now. They were pretty far out and just dots on the horizon really- fading into the mist when I saw them... but still!! They'd been in the voe for a while and were heading back out when our neighbour spotted them because a salmon boat(that regularly goes back and fourth) had turned around to look at them, this was odd. So thats how they spotted them! And they phoned us!

Helloooo! How are you! I've just been on Ebay and done a little bit of retail therapy. Bidding on prismacolour pencils! ^-^  Yep. I had a bad day in art class. I hate poster paints with a vengance.... grr.
  Anyways! Yep, the weather up here is very variable. One day we had a really hard snow, it was freezing cold and very deep. Woke up the next morning  and it was all gone, melted, and it was a scorcher of a day! Weird!

So, whats all up in the US. Soggy old Britain is being rained on again... good weather lasts not much more than 3 days at most up here! And if we possibly manage to hit 18 degrees C up here, we're doing good!! Cold wind most of the year. But that's what you get for being on the same latitude as Hudson Bay and Siberia- but we're not half as cold as that!! (Thankfully)

Even though the storyline looks amazing... I don't think I could bear the old graphics anymore, if I tried to play it. I am just so picky... *slaps wrist*

so its sorrel? thats a pretty color. i think your horse would look really majestic with that.^^
i'm pretty sure i got that color on that coloring tutoral for that. but i first color in the whole horse that color(except for the white marking you want on your horse.leave those uncolored) then add some darker coloring (like a dark brown or just brown. test it out on a sheet of paper and compare it with the color of your horse) look at some pics of horses of mine for shading and lighting. it'll help. for the light parts i usually erase alittle were i want it. dont use white pencil cause its not as good. make sure the erasers clean before and after using it on your pic because i ruined mine a few times before with smearing. if you erase too much off just add back on some of the color your horse is in.the hooves should be like a grey or dark grey(also if you notice i put a shiny flash down their hoove. if you want that then you just leave a part uncolored or you can erase it but be careful not to smear)..look at the pics..or mine. the nose would be a grey too. if you want you can make a shiny spot in his eyes to make him look alive(if you want eyes) i usually color in the eye with sharper(ultra thin) and leave a spot uncolored. if you didn't you can dot a spot with white out pen or maybe a gel pen. i know this is really long but i'm just giving you a thorough view. i hope it helps somewhat. :) if you need any more tips just ask.^^ see ya! :)

about the black if the whole horse is that color i usually use permanent marker then i add the shiny parts(or muscle tone) with a white colored pencil so he won't look flat. a good example is spur or that last profile pic of thrax sitting on top of the black horse.
if you use black colored pencil then color the horse first and then go over it with grey but it doesn't make it as black as with perm marker to make the shiner parts with this i just erase where i want them. an example is strider, the pic where he's only standing(only himself)^^

about the blending the colors.. i used to have trouble with that too. sometimes i would go over it with a lighter color such as tan or white or sometimes grey...depends on the color coat.
