Theres been a pittion for a season 2 but some the excuses i found for why not were

The actors won;t want to come out of retirement
The singer who sang the songs for begiining and end died
The manga at the time was carring on and they were worried people would lose interest .

I found tones of excuses online

heres some more reasons why not
- It is time-consuming to produce an anime and the manga is not finished yet, and since the fans will lose interest, it is not worth the effort.
- The fans will forget about the anime if they release it at a date later than the ending of the season 1.
- The storyline cannot be maintained and will lead to nowhere.
