I have to agree with the last user's comments. Your work is obviously taken from official art.

almost all of your artwork are stolen screenshots that were doctored and 2 of them are pictures of Keychains that i even own myself. this is obviously not your work compared to some of your real artwork and i will be reporting you to the Admin. and there are several other people doing the same so i suggest you take them down before the admin. sees them or be banned.

I'm really sorry to say this and please please PLEASE don't hate me for it. Maybe you should give drawing your own poses a shot. Maybe some original characters as well.

I mean your skills on the computer are fabulous and I'm still behind you all the way, but maybe it would help lessen confusion if you tried to broaden your horizons a little bit. Doesn't have to be all that creative. Just something new. It's scary sometimes yeah, but I think it might really help you especially now.

Your flash MX skills are really good and your colour work its excellent as is your copying an image so its perfect. Coping other images has limitations though and it can hold you back in the long run. Plus you can become dependent on it, which you seem to have.

If you ever want to improve as an artist you must develop and draw your own things, even if they are fan art, and stop making copies of other images. Because when the day comes when your sitting in art class or collage and they say what can you do? Then you say I can draw this images as a perfect copies they will not be impressed. They won’t see it as skilled or wonderful they’ll see that your limited and that you aren’t willing to improve.

This is not intended to offend it is intended to help you. You have so much skill and I just feel it’s been wasted on making copies of other images, when it could be used to make very beautiful imagery along with beautiful fan art and original images which could be really eye pleasing.

You didn't create the scheme of gradients and shadows, the artist did.


Soon, there will be a restrictions on what people can submit to FAC, tracing IS a good exercize, but it shouldn't be posted, why? because art in people gallery is used to judge their apparent art skill.

Yo when i said I do requests it said on my profile that i give them to people if they want a true challenge at drawing. I love the Jak piture I really need photoshop and sense your curious I thought I let you know how I draw I only coomit myself to certiain thnigs which turn out very good but sadly this only happened twice and both times were only took two hours long to draw You are a great artist for what ever your age is which is actully a question when I normally draw it takes up to 3 too 30 minutes long. If i commit myself like you i most likely can come up with something that is extrodinary

To anyone who accused him of stealing or tracing artwork, LISTEN UP!!! Don't be jealous of him just because you can't fracking draw. I mean sure, it'd be nice to see a few of your own characters and poses rather than just redrawing (for lack of better term) screenshots. Just because it's better than we're used to seeing doesn't mean he traced it. You all think what you wanna think, but so will I and I think anyone who accused him of stealing or tracing his work is a jealous asshole. I look at his work and I don't see what everyone who accused him sees. I can see some parts where he messed up on, no matter how minor they are. If you can't see that, it's more than obvious how jealous you are. I mean, come on! Get a grip. Just because he's can draw doesn't mean you all get to be jealous pigs and give him shoot about it. Grow up...

I, for one, believe him. I think this is just a nasty rumor to ban a good artist from the site and I will never support it in any way.

Hey, I'm finally finished the story, come check it out. And another thing, I'm just noticing the totarial thing(NICE)^_^

What takes so long? The basic drawing? The inking? All of it together? :)


The only way I know of to increase speed in drawing is to practice gestural stuff a lot. I think that gives a person more confidence in their instincts.

That, and just cutting back on little things. Like if I'm doing a pic I know I'm going to ink, I don't spend a lot of time on detailing the pencil drawing cos it's useless to do (since it's going to be inked).

I suppose I may have jumped the gun cos you didn't really say you DIDN'T like spending 50 hours on a pic, nor did you ask me for advice.... O_O

Ah well! I don't wanna delete it cos it might be helpful afterall ^_^

Yeah, I don't mind... I'm actually kinda curious how one of my drawings might look CG'ed, so if you feel like trying it sometime... you've got my permission for it. As well as I can do colored pencil drawings I can't do CG (neither time nor desire to learn how).

On a different note, at FAC we tend to have this theory that most of the great CG artists tend to be very skilled at traditional media, too... Blackwolf and Lizkay are examples.

...Some guy just accused me of tracing a picture that I worked very hard on to draw. Midnight-Raccoon, (obviously a newbie on FAC) accused me of tracing "Dancing In The Moonlight", a NMBC drawing I did a while ago. I looked off the back of the DVD for reference and drew the picture afterwards. I oppose art stealing (or tracing) to the point where I would murder someone who did, so I don't know where he/she/it got that idea from...

Yeah, traditional media is basically any method of creating art that's been around since before computers (such as paint media). Redrawing a picture using Flash produces a sort of 'toon' look to it... but what if you applied that to a non-toon style source pic (like a photo, or even this... yeah, kinda hard to resist an opportunity to plug one of my own pics ;)), what could the results look like... food for thought, really.

I'm not on the side of those who have been rude to you but I feel some have a point.

Like you I used to copy poses at one time to help and it helped me develop but I did stop and later started making my own images.

People who say that you should do your own poses are not trying to be rude to you they are trying to help you.

Those who are showing you the rules are being rude but flying of the handle and telling them frack off will not resolve the issue it will make it worse.

People sometimes want a fight and in flying of the handle you’re giving them one. This may also get you banned because to some it can be seen as abuse.

You’ve got to calm down and breath deeply and give calm answers, as it could later be your undoing.

My advice to you is to go forward and start doing your own images and progress as an artist.

Please do not see this message as me taking sides and fly of the handle. I'm not on any side and I'm just trying to give advice one artist to another.

Yeah... here on FAC we tend to take a broader definition of the term 'tracing' than some people think. Which is why I used the term 'copy art' earlier, it's a bit more specific.

Anyway, about lack of inspiration/imagination to do new pics. Did you know I suffer from that all the time? I can never seem to find enough time to allocate to actually DOING my art... drawings that only take an hour or two of effort seem to get spread thin across weeks of time... I've drawn so many pics that I'm near out of ideas on exactly WHAT to do (which I haven't done before), so I haven't been able to submit new content to my FAc gallery very much these days. That's kinda bummer, you know?

Okay, you did leave me a bunch of things to respond to, eh?

- You don't know what an MLP is? MLP = "My Little Pony", one of Hasbro's toy lines aimed at girls. They're little pastel-colored plastic ponies, they were very popular in the 1980's and are back in stores for a third generation.

- It always bemuses me how people will claim how I 'must have' put tons of time and hours into a pic. I keep a close log of how much time/effort I put into each drawing; it just so happens that my Spyro of the Elements pic required seven hours from start to finish (whereas my Starscream MLP, by contrast, took only three).

- Just so you know, moderator and admin are NOT the same things. I'm a moderator on FAC's forums, outside of that I'm also on the category crew. I don't have authority to do suspensions/bans or manage abuse reports.

- For the record, you have indeed been taken off auto-approval for awhile. I can't do anything about it, myself (in fact, I agree with their decision).

You can already suspect why: it's because your pictures are redrawn so well from official pics. "Copy art" (more commonly called "tracing") is not very appreciated by FAC rules - see [url=rules.php]FAC submission rule[/url] #3, "redrawing an existing picture", and rule #16, "direct tracing".

There are several reasons for this rule. Drawing/redrawing from an existing picture does not develop your own artistic skills. Skills such as image composition/posing, sense of color theory, knowledge of proportions/anatomy, and image perspective/foreshadowing -- drawing/redrawing from an existing picture does not develop these skills to nearly the same extent that drawing original characters does. This is espcially true for copy art (often called "tracing"), where the only skills you develop are the ability to duplicate someone else's work. (Official characters are someone else's work too, the difference is that the owner is a professional studio/artist and not a freelance/amateur artist) And it's not fair to the original creator of that character when people give somebody else (such as you) all the credit for a piece of work that is mostly theirs. When you redraw from an existing picture, the composition is not yours, the sense of proportions and anatomy are not yours, the perspective and lighting is not yours -- those still belong to the original artist, and the only thing that truly belongs to you is the actual time you spent redrawing it.

Now, it is true that many artists on FAC draw from official pictures as a reference while they are still developing. However, there's a line between referencing from an official picture and directly copying/tracing it. It's difficult to define what this line is, but the FAC abuse team defines it with an overlay comparison. You see, "copy art" (often called tracing) comes in many forms. On physical media, there's actual tracing paper, mirror devices, and the "grid" method. On CG, it can mean redrawing over the original image in ANY form (such as Photoshop layers with transparency - original pic on bottom, your pic on top, and you simply draw over the lines), but it can also mean using measurement to copy linework/shading exactly (e.g., measure the width/height of a particular line, then produce a line on a different surface with the same width/height).

On the other hand, if you printed out the image onto paper, hung it up on the wall somewhere beyond arm's reach, then copied the lines with absolutely no measurements used to ensure accuracy, that's not a form of "copy art", because there is no actual, direct connection between the original drawing and your version of it. There will ALWAYS be some level of discrepancy between the original and your version when this is the case.

In the end, FAC practice is this: If the abuse team overlays your picture on top of the original picture, and there are absolutely NO discrepancies between the linework of the two, then some form of "copy art" must have been involved -- it essentially becomes "not yours", which is not allowed on FAC.

If your art is to the point where people are accusing you of tracing (which you know they have), you can take it as a compliment that you can match your drawings to the original so damn well. ON THE OTHER HAND, this also means that you've maxed out your artistic development in the realm of copy art, and you really SHOULD move on to creating and drawing your own original characters, or at least to drawing official characters WITHOUT a picture to go by and compare to. (That's what most FAC artists do anyway)

After all, if you create and draw out your own original characters straight from your own imagination (no pictures for reference), then NO ONE can accuse you of tracing, right? It's true that your first few original characters won't look so hot (my first dragons sure didn't!), but give it a year or two of practicing one original drawing after another, you will develop the ability to create a realistic character without relying on an existing picture. THEN you are a truly great artist.

I know this sounds tough, but I'm trying to keep a positive angle on the issue here. You've done enough drawing/redrawing from existing pictures, you should work on branching out into original, fully-created-by-you territory.
