Baka- [BAH-kah]: 'idiot' or 'jerk'. Useful for insulting people when you don't want them to know you are.
Bishojo- [Bih-SHO-joe]: 'Pretty Girl'.
Bishonen- [Bih-SHO-nehn]: 'Pretty Boy'. Most shojo anime and manga have these guys by the barrel full. They're often so pretty people confuse them with girls.
chan- [chan]: Suffix meaning 'little'. Used when referring to someone smaller/younger than you are, or to someone you are very close to. Most often used for girls.
Daijoubu- [DIE-joe-boo]: 'It's okay' or 'I'm okay'.
Doozo- [DOUGH-zo]: 'If you please'. 'Hai, doozo' means 'yes, go ahead!'.
Ja Ne- [JAH NAY]: 'So long!'
Kami- [KAH-me]: In the Shinto religion (the native Japanese religion), kami means 'gods'.
Kawaii- [kah-WHY-ee]: 'cute'
Kinou- [KEE-noh]: Yesterday
Kun- [kuhn]: A suffix used with a person your equivalent, most often used with boys.
Kuso- [KOO-so]: While often translated as 'Damn it', it really means 'shoot'. Great word for when you want to swear without anyone knowing.
Kyou- [KYOH]: Today
Momo- [Moh-moh]: 'Peaches'.
Neco- [NEH-ko]: Cat
