Yeah, I would imagine that's pretty annoying! Do you have Netscape or Explorer? If you have Netscape, it could be an older version and you might need to update it. Perhaps there is a plugin that you need to get. Try right clicking on the image and see if it says "get plug-in" If it does just click on the link and follow the directions to get it.
