ATTENTION ALL REQUESTERS!!! I feel really bad about my lack of diligence regarding my latest, what, four? Yeah, latest four requests. I haven't quite been up to speed, since I have school and homework and sports and friends asking and nagging on me to draw from them. So thanks for not complaining. I swear I'll get them all done this year! But I can't make any promises...

Seeing how I'm not eleven anymore, I decided to create my new gallery under orangemusicnote101614. If you've read my profile previously, it said I was twelve years old. *Cough* I'm not twelve, I'm fourteen. Well, here's a little more in depth about me:

Likes:
Art, music, movies (lol, being a little vague, aren't we, Chelsea?) I like to sing and write my own manga. Some of my favorite mangas are, and are currently limited to the series' I own (all shojo): Hana Kimi, Fruits Basket, Girl Got Game, Kare Kano, and Imadoki.
I don't really have any favorite video games, but I generally like non-action games. SuperSmashBrothers Melee and the game who's name completely escapes my mind right now....oh yeah, Kingdom Hearts. (I say I like it, but I can't even remember the name?)

My motto: "Live and let live." I'm a real...keep the peace person, even though I can't always live up to that. :D
I don't really have label...I guess you could call me an anime person (no, REALLY?)...or sometimes misanthrope. Whichever one you like better.

well... not really college ^.^

it's um.. a school that combines work with school.. which means i'll be studying 2 days a week, and 3 days i'll be working- i don't know what work i'll be doing, i'll most likely work as a nurse. it's gonna be FUN! and after that year i'll move to australia.. all alone, to go to college.. and i guess i'm not that much older.. i'm 15. heh. how old are you, btw?

I'd take Japanese over spanish any day.. I like a chalenge, and I'm such a high strung and tense person that I respond to the demands of the class well.

Learning Japanese?

Honestly, the first year and a half was awsome. It was simple, easy, and clearly laid out. The writing system, at least the phonetics, was simple emough for me a grasp, and I had a great time.

Then I decided to get a yaer done over the summer, in a short 9 weeks, which resulted in mental anguish, lack of sleep, and a horrible diet.. But eventualy, a passing grade and a skipped year.

Kanji, when required to learn 25-some a week, drive me insane. I'm just now, after studying the language for so long, getting the hang of learning to write them.

Gramaticaly, it's really different from english, and not only from the honorific standpoint... It's basicaly completly backwards from english.. But once you get the hsng of it, and learn to think Japanese, and not translate in your head, it becomes easyer.

Try getting a few grammer and vocab books from your local bookstore. Most of the internet sites I've seen suck...

And yeah, conformity in my mind, blows chunks.. I'd rather be an individual anyday.

About your question on Japan's culture...

I find it fascinating, honestly. It's very differnt from the American culture. It's a very subtle blend of tradition and technology.
->There's a very strong enphasis on respect, which is apparent in the spoken language.(There are 5 different words for "you" ranging from "asshole" to "honnered person." and even different cunjunction for verbs concearning politeness alone)
->Disipline and punctuality are a must. According to many students from Japan that I've talked to, you can set your watch by the japanese train system.
->Unlike America, individualism is looked down on in Japan. You've probably heard the proverb "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." The beliefe of this is very apparent in the culture, everything from uniforms to life-time enployment are signs of this.
->Little kids are perves... Look up "kancho" and read "Japanese english teacher" at www.outpostnine.com
->Highschool.. is not required. It's rigourus, and the only enphasis is on getting a good job , even at the age of 15.

There's so many other differences, that personaly, I'm not sure I could live my life by, but admittedly, it would be cool to go there. Just remember, it's not the romantisied place you see in anime... Like america, hey have plenty of cultureal problems too.

Sorry for not replying, but I was sooo busy (school again *sighs*) anyway, finally this year is over, and I made it to the next year. You drew a lot of nice pictures, you are really getting good!! I only drew one... (and it's not that good:)

About the make Phantom a girlfriend thing.... He has a WIFE in an RP story Yoko and I are doing!!! He also has FOUR kids (Phantom: I was bored, bite me!)

Hehe!! Actually he is paired off with Asuka Kazama from Tekken 5!!! If you wanna know more here is a little info...

A. He is half Devil gene (DNA fused with a demons)

B. He CAN be a flirt!

C. He had four kids, and enjoyed it!!

D. He luvs his fans!!!

screen tones are actually adhesive patters or images that you put on the paper and cut/etch away with a craft knife (there's a "how to draw manga" book on it you can probably find at your local book store)

Most "professional" mangaka don't use the computer for tones (that's more of the American habbit)

lol the two pages in my gallery are just practice pages. I'm posting the actual manga in a few weeks. ^^

You've got a good start for your age as far as drawing skills go, and drawing a manga is probably the best way to get better (since it forces you to draw a LOT and different poses, etc)

As far as making it look like "real manga" o.o;; I'm not quite...sure how to help you there. Every artist has a different style so there's really no set way.
Probably the best advice I can give you is try and use penning techniques over tones when you can. It's good practice (and using too many tones can be a bad thing..)

Akien is not my real name, it's Lauren *twitch*... DONT EVER CALL ME BY MY REAL NAME!!!! ACCURSED NAME!!!! Actually my name on FAC has a history to it!!! Akien was the name of the first Manga (almost the same as anime, only cuter) character I ever made... I have to admit that he was rather strange looking, because of his wolf tail!! He was blind and was a very kind boy with a terrible past, his mother was killed by his powerful older brother, his father left him when he was born and his older brother, Yashimoro was really abusive towards him as his new guardian... Akien has a lot of sentimental value to me because he holds a lot of good memories locked deeply in my heart now.... And if you can beleive it Akien was the frame of Phantom. Who turned out to be the complete opposite! Also... Akien is a friendship symbol to a friend whom moved away :( Catherine Coren.... So there you have it!!! Ok, I'm finished DRAWING your request... It needs to be colored, and one thing... I couldnt find anywhere for a sword or cape.... The only troubles I had were

A. Getting his head the right size

B. Making him look sane because of my bad habits of drawing a lazy eye (I cant draw two eyes the same size, and if I do one of them is lookin in the opposite direction than the other)

C. THE FRIKKIN HAIR TOOK ME AN HOUR!!! Lol

D. His facial expression (I couldnt make up my mind what I wanted his expression to be)

:( Sorry if it looks a little wierd but I tried my best!!! This is the most hardest thing I have ever drawn in my LIFE!!! Lol

Ow, I didn't told you that I'm learning to become a teacher?? Hahaha, it's my first year now, and it takes 4 years in total te become a teacher in Holland. It's cool, but I'm still so young... I'm almost 18 (only 3 days left...) and I already have to 'practice' on kids of 14 or 15. But it's really cool!
