I don't think your family should know about it. Mom found out that I was drawing yaoi and she told me that she won't buy me anymore notepads if I continue to draw yaoi or pokemon but she doesn't know about FAC so I'm safe there and I'm safe at dad's house. My mom and grandma know I'm a perv (My grandma blames it on the tv I watch) and I don't mind them seeing/knowing. It matters how your mom/family are. If they don't mind, it's your decision.
