Hey Rubidium, it's been a while since I last spoke to ya -_-' How's things been going for ya? I've been taking quite a few photos of clouds lately...not sure why lol. My chooks have also been attacked with the camera...repeatedly XD I got some new chibi hens a couple of weeks ago coz we only had two left from the older group. They're very entertaining...one of them fell into our tiny pond (only about a metre wide) and man it was funny...crazy hens XD I haven't been onto DA for a while, so I'm falling behind in everyone's new artwork. It's a repeat of last time lol. Remember how I said I'd keep up to date...yeah well....I failed at that. Hopefully when I get time I'll go through my message box -_-' But yeah, enough of my problems lol. I'll try and talk to ya more frequently from now on. OMG!!! I missed your B-Day! I haven't talked to you in quit some time. Whats up?

Hiya Rubidium :) Yeah, I sent that message on the 31st...tried to send it before 3pm over here, so it'd be there when you woke up ^_^ Australia's ahead of England, timewise...not sure how many hours, but I do know when it's 6pm over hear, it's around 9/10 am over there (that's when my mum usually phones her relatives, so that's how I know lol). I reckon it'll be awesome to see the artwork you produce when you start using a tablet. It's so much easier to get the effect you want with a tablet. Using a mouse has its restrictions. I really want to ink my manga pages using a tablet, but I'm not too steady with it. Heh, not too steady using a normal pen mind you...ah well, I guess I'll need to try it first before I start complaining XD

I hope you'll be ok when you move out. Its a huge step...I'm fearing taking it lol. My oldest bro (27) moves out, comes back, moves out, comes back....my parents call him a yo-yo. My other bro (24), lives in Brisbane (city), but he's come back to my dad's a couple of times to live. Heh, it was pretty hard coping with 5 ppl in a small unit...not much space at all O.o; To clarify what I meant before, my mum lives in a smallish country town in southeast Queensland Hinterland. It's a lovely place, but because of that, a lot of ppl are moving into it and changing it. A large lot of land on the hills has recently been developed, ready for a housing estate near town. Two farms have been given to council, and they're gonna now change the hills into a golf course/housing estate too close to where I live. The roads are too congested in town, particularly peak hour (3pm when school ends), and overall...I don't particularly want all these ppl moving in. Lived there pretty much my whole life, and I love it the way it was. Luckily enough though, our house is about 5 mins out of town, so it's away from everyone pretty much. It used to be a hippy/greenie town, but now...seeing less and less hippies -_-; And ever since Woolworths forced themselves in despite all protests....heh, I hate woolworths so much...they care for nothing but their own profit....I'd rather die than shop at another woolworths store -_-* But yeah, to sum it up....I get stressed out when I'm away from my mum's. I can't handle traffic, tons of ppl, housing estates, units everywhere....I really want a digital camera so I can take photos before ppl change things and I forget what they once looked like. Plus, I can upload photos onto deviantart lol. There's nice views of the Glasshouse Mountains :D

Oh man, I've rambled enough there....don't worry about talking about yourself a lot :) I enjoy hearing how others are doing, so don't feel restricted ^_^ It's interesting to hear what you've been up to!!

Ya gotta do something special for your 18th XD You're finding your own place to live? Cool!! I'm still staying with my parents...honestly don't think I have what it takes to move out yet lol. Besides, I love my mum's place coz it's pretty much secluded from everyone else. Not sure how long it'll last though, since more ppl are moving into town *eye twitch* Your comp isn't compatible with your tablet? Damn, that must be annoying!! I hope you manage to get another comp soon though :) The main comp here at my dad's has finally returned...been somewhat dead over the past month (power pack died and the fan needed replacing. Plus the blue screen of death finally got fixed too). Heh, I can scan stuff in again!! Oh, before I forget, that song that Hitsugaya sings is called "This light I see". It's really quite good. Also Kenpachi's "Come to Like it. This fight now" is awesome too. My sister has been making the cutest Bleach chibis!! I told her to put them on her profile page, but she's too lazy. She said I could put them on my own though, which I will sometime. Heh, she did a funny one of Hitsugaya...if you're game enough, it's on my Hitsugaya pic in the comments. Hey Rubidium, Merry Christmas!! It's hard to believe Chrissy's here again...the year goes by too quickly lol. Yeah, I've seen a couple of your vids already. *Arron gave me some links* I think it's amazing your planning on makeing your maga into a movie. Well, I want to be a dog breeder. It's were you mate diffrent dogs to create new breeds. But thats not all they do, they also raise and train dogs. Kinda like getting them ready for competions and stuff. I'm not very good at explaining. sorry! Erm.. The only tip I can give you about shading and stuff like that is to study other pictures. That's how I've learned a little about it. If you visit Deviantart you'll find TONS of tutorials on how to color and stuff like that.
I'm sorry that I'm not to much use for you!

Oh yeah. Your question on my picture "Lonely Boy". I used Charcoal at first and then I erased some lines in the hair and other places.
That way those areas got more shiny.

Hey Hawk, sorry I sorta disappeared. Tori's still here, but she is suppose to catch a plane back to Oregon this Tuesday, so naturally my sister and I have been trying to spend as much time with her as possible. We hardly ever get to see her, so it's one of those bittersweet things. Urgh...I hate good-byes... T.T
 
    But anyways, I have you request drawn. All's I have to do is fix his outfit and the hair and it will be up on psp shortly. (Thanks for being so patient!) But you mentioned creative criticism? Gosh, I'm not sure I'd be the person to ask, considering that my art isn't THAT creative, but one thing I have learned is that you just have to experiment. Draw what you know, and then experiment with designs, faces, eyes, poses. Half of the sketches in my sketch book are mostly of floating eyes and windy lotus vines, and of freakishly huge heads on tiny tiny bodies. But just try different things and mess around. You already have a distinctive style (which is really hard for some artists to create) so I really think you can take your already awesome style further. (I'm still in the process with my style-my art is so blah compared to others...)
 
 But, yeah. So if any of that helps you, that's wonderful. But If it just seems like I'm babbling off on something completely irrelevant, I'm sorry! Just ignore me. ^^  Anyways, hope you have a great Monday,  and again, I'm so sorry for the wait.

Hiya, how's it going? Lol, I went onto your shared Youtube account last week and watched that bloopers video you put up a while ago. It was so funny....man, how many times did you have to redo it? Good thing you got it right in the end ^_^ I loved the change in the weather, like one minute it was sunny, the next all cloudy and dark. I could try to offer some concrit...after learning that everyone draws differently and there's no "real" way of drawing, picking out other's mistakes is hard for me lol. Hey, thankyou for the encouraging comments on both my new pic and my profile. Thanks for picking out the fault with Kenshin too...I was really stuck as to why he looked strange O.O He looked alright when I drew him originally on photoshop, but I guess coloring just mutated him a bit lol. But thankyou for helping me with that. If I can fix his eye up, I'll submit him to Deviantart too ^-^ It's what I really need right now, constructive critism....since I struggle to pick out my own faults, I need others to help me along lol. Your comments on my profile really helped me out too. You give very encouraging advice you know ^_^ I think my main problem is being too tense, so nothing ever turns out right particularly people's bodies (Also think too much and worry whether things are the right size/shape etc). I have a ton of reference I've collected (out of magazines, TV guides etc) but it doesn't really help me....I'll take your advice and try to loosen up more and try to enjoy it again ^-^ I hope things turn out ok with your ex. Hey Rubidium, thanks for the comments on my recent art ^_^ Lol, I still need to improve drawing...lately I can't get any human anatomy right at all and it's driving me insane. I read somewhere, the more you learn about drawing, the harder it is to draw...I laughed at that comment back then, but um...*shifty eye* I found out the hard way it's true O.O' Heh, Hiko's hair did take a while...probably not as long as usual, since I've discovered an easy enough method of hair coloring. I usually draw in the hair strands (roughly and quickly), using about three/four differents shades, then grab a large dodge and burn brush, going over any shadowed areas or highlights. It's pretty simple...I'm glad you liked his hair ^-^ I'll check out your new art too!! And don't worry, I think your art is still awesome!! Don't feel down about your artwork ok :D We all need confidence in our work...although, I'm kinda lacking in it myself at the moment. I think my problem is, I don't have the heart in my drawings anymore. If a picture is lacking "heart", I find it doesn't turn out as good as it should have. That's my theory anyway lol. I wouldn't exactly say the luckyest of cards, luck is usually bound to the suit of pentacles, but it's definitely the happyest.

sorry if hawks arua looks wrong but when i put it all over his bodey it looked crappy and made it hard to see some of the detail. and i thourght since he is chaneling it to his arms then i wouls only show it on his arms. and i hope the rips in his jaket look ok. oh and the reason it took so long is because i had to completly remodel him after the info you gave me but at least it looks better now.

    Hey, we're all pessimistic when it comes to our own artwork, right? LOL I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I go browsing in other peoples galleries and they can have the most awesome mind-blowing pictures, it makes me sick with jealousy and self-pity. I always find me asking myself "Why can't I do that?" or "Why doesn't mine look as good?". Trust me...I've been there. T.T (scary place to be...) LOL just kidding. Pfft, you being way to modest. You're artwork deserves a little more credit than that! Graphic Tablet stuff is pretty cool, but everyone has to start somewhere. Hey Rubidium! Been a long time since I've spoken to anyone....how have you been? I just needed a lil break away from fanart. Needed to sort myself out, plus the build up of requests was getting too stressful coz I'm struggling to complete them. I'm trying to finish them all off gradually though....I guess I gotta start saying no to people lol. Saying yes all the time will probably be my downfall -_-' But you're waiting on two pics, right? Seriously, my memory is as dead as ever....but I recall two pics somehow....thankyou too for commenting on my new pic of Sharok. It was originally a pencil sketch, but I put in photoshop and started tweaking it here and there before adding in a background. I'm surprised it came out the way it did lol. The way I've been feeling about my artwork lately, didn't think it was possible.... I hope you've been ok over the past month/s. I'll try and be on here more often from now on....our older computer kicked the bucket about three weeks ago so it had to be replaced. I hope you can get the scanner back soon O.O It'd be annoying, especially while you're submitting your Manga and everything...I've started planning a short manga. Nothing's official yet anyway with Tokypop...I'll have to talk more to my friend about it since I'm not entirely sure what he told them or anything. hmm, good question lol
no one's good at everything, that's why I'm trying to find a style I like and am comfortable with ( hence my trying out all kinds of different ways to shade/color ) there are tons of different ways to make a picture look interesting, some people shade using markers and then go over with colored pencils for the softer highlights, some people color with watercolor, some use watrecolor for the base and blending , then go over with markers , some don't color at all , just use shading ( works for manga ) and there's a couple of different ways to do that too, the most interesting, I find , is using just lines and dashes to shade within the outline ( you can see that in my latest pic ) but you just have to find something that works best for you,
 
I'm currently exploring new ways to shade in black and white ( for my manga ) but I've found some interesting cloring techniques too,

not really, creating art with the help of programms like photoshop takes skill aswell, so it still is a reflection of your talent , it's just that if you manage to make a picture worked entiery by hand look as good as something that's been photoshoped it shows that your definitely a cut above ( at least I find it so )
that's what I'm trying to work my way to, pretty crazy eh ? but you won't see me giving up anytime soon, and I'll still continue to work with photoshop aswell

Hiya, how have you been? I got your email too, but haven't gotten around to replying lol. I usually copy and paste all my unanswered fanart comments into a word document, so I keep everything organised and I don't forgot to reply to ppl. I just find it hard to reply to everyone at once these days, since there's so many ppl lol. It might get harder too....I've been offered a job working with multimedia (like creating DVDs, burning disks, putting footage off a camera cassette into the comp harddrive etc) but I'm not sure whether I should go for it. Thankyou for the nice comment on my Hiko pic!! You should read the Rurouni Kenshin manga sometime....I've been downloading it off that FFshrine site over the weekend, so I can read it lol. It has a lot of sword fighting and blood splat O.O Nothing could have been done to save the platypuses home. Woolworths wouldn't give up the site, even though residents of Maleny collected together enough money to buy the site back. And yeah, they destroyed the burrows, probably killing a couple of the platypus while doing so. The idiots kept claiming that platypus didn't live on that creek bank, but it's like...what would they know? They don't even live here. They just forced themselves in, when we clearly didn't need their stupid supermarket. But yeah, point is....we protested, and failed. Small towns can't win against large companies. So now I loath woolworths with all I got -_-* I hate them, and hope that someday their currupted company crumbles into nothing. And then I will laugh.....hehehe.....*insane cackling* Um...yeah....take your time with Hartinae. No rush ok!! You have other things that need doing first ^_^ I don't mind which style you do him in. Hi ya ^.O Finally got a chance to reply lol. I haven't enrolled into that manga coarse yet. I'm kinda going off that idea, since there are a few compulsory subjects that I have to do in order to learn the ways of manga. It also runs for two years, full time....and it's down in the city which I dislike the thought of. I'm a country girl lol. Hate city life to be honest -_-' I found an alternative thing though, which is a cartooning course. You learn to draw and create your own cartoons, as well as how to market them. It's also one where you can learn from home and don't have to go to a campus. I'm still deciding though...don't wanna make the wrong choice lol. Thanks again for doing Hartinae for me ^_^ I can't wait to see him...I'll be patient though lol. So, how have ya been lately? I hope things are going well for ya!! I'll see ya later ok ^_O

I'm glad that pic will help you out to draw him ^_^ Sorry it took so long to get some more reference up for ya...all my pics these days tend to be delayed for some reason. Also, thankyou for the advice about drawing Phoenix. Now that I look back on that pic, I think her left ear should have been positioned a bit further down -_-" It's funny how we pick out these faults lol. Like, you don't notice it when you're drawing, but once you've finished and go back a day or two later, it's quite noticable...but yeah, I'll aim to make her look a lil younger in my next pic. About your manga too, it's ok if the beginning ain't that great. Most of the manga I've read, the start of it takes a while to get moving to more interesting parts.
