Everyone, it is my turn to take leave of Fanart Central.
College has become too hectic now that I am entering my senior year. I am also in the premedical track, so the tasks will only build up! Do you know how long I have been on FAC? 6 years. That makes me all the more reluctant to go, but I must go. I am not cutting ties; I am letting them fall, and if any of you guys find me again someway somehow, I will surely pick them up again. However, for now, let me get adjusted to simply concentrating on my own life as a regular artist and student.
It was fantastic getting to know all of you. I faved, commented, complimented, critiqued, argued, and laughed with too many of you to count. I started as a total noob and finished as a site helper. I did what I could in my time here - it was tedious, but I was proud of it. Do not ever ever stop drawing, guys! You know what you guys have, every single one of you, is special. Never let it go.
See everyone on the flip side, yo!

Speaking from a logical and most un-bias point of view, _ren_tao_fan_ (I hope she and Lizzy do not read this and totally freak out) showed a deeper form of creativity/interpretation of the contest's theme, so she got 26 creativity points while Lizzy got 23.9 creativity points in her take on being a mother (sledding with OCs). That was the main advantage for Ren's piece. Lizzy beat Ren in color with 8.9 against 8.45 simply because her character and scenery brought it out more, so Lizzy's picture certainly had its advantages. I gave both 32 skill points for their pieces respectively. Although Lizzy drew with CG and her regular style, that does not mean it is better than drawing a dark MSPaint picture with clean lines. They both used their artistic mediums well, and I saw it as equal levels. No one has broken my 32 skill mark, and I do not think it will happen soon. Even I have trouble leveling up to my own expectations.
(On a obvious note, we are comparing two scores from two different contests with two different themes and different contestants, so comparing the two artists' situation is a little hind-sight bias.)
“To expect life to treat you good is foolish as hoping a bull won't hit you because you are a vegetarian.”
― Roseanne Barr
I do not look at what is "fair" or "equal" or "what will make everyone happy-doodle-dandy." I look at what is the best always because I know that is what gets better results, leads to better economy, and makes a better winner. What is truly "unfair" is cheating someone out of a prize they truly deserved out of their own skill because they are too good and someone is whining. Forget your ideologies on "fair" (because everyone has a different version of it), and look at what you think is right and just (there is a difference).
If you concentrate on what you can do, as an artist, to improve your scores little by little, and less on who is in your way and what would happen if they were not there, you would be able to see that whether I am a good or bad judge does not matter. It was all about improving your own score to get to where you wanted, and according to your score pattern, you are improving; you just need to be patient with yourself and have fun with it. This entire competition is not as serious as you think. It will not determine your self-worth as and individual, and it will certainly not measure your level as an artist!
On another side note, this contest and future contests will be scored with 2 judges (ShadowFalcon), so your score will get a second opinion! YAYY!

Yes, you judge correctly and fairly...
but it's not fair if someone wins THREE of your contests.
I mean, all of us work very hard...
_ren_tao_fan_ gets 89.9 or something and Victorandlizzy gets 79, I'm not saying at ALL the ren sucks, I'm just saying that VictorandLizzy's picture was a lot more detailed and it got less than her's.
I know you're really annoyed of me, so I will leave you alone and I don't care if you reply to this or not...I'm just speaking my mind.
