I have a hard time trusting anyone, male or female. It's not just clothes- it's actions, words, mannerisms. It's difficult to find good in some people. I don't dislike someone because they're different, if I dislike someone it's because they've really given me a reason to.

That's true. People get pushed to greatness from outside AND in. You're smart, so you'll be able to tell when you're going overboard. Right now, I'd say you've got 'friendly concern', and that's a really good thing.
