When you include romance, no matter how spicey, you keep an underlying sweetness to it. That's admirable imho.

Well, to me sex and love go hand in hand. There can't be those feelings of passion and lust without a deeper, less carnal desire underlying it. An out of place notion in today's society, but one I stand by.^^

At first he'd have to talk her into it, but then when she gets into it, too, it's like a nightly thing or something. I could see it happening. They seem like the type of puppy love couple where they're totally addicted to each other.

Tenzo: "Hey Yuji. You're single, right?"

Tenzo: "Sorry. Look, I've got this problem...(tells about Hisako)...and I...I just can't do it. I don't want to endanger her future.

Man, this whole deal with Japan has been making me sick. Up until the radiation thing started, I was ready to join a volunteer group to go help out. Once the nuclear threat is gone, if they can still use help, then maybe I can go help out.

My parents indulge me for the most part when it comes to Japanese food, just because I don't eat much. If they find something I'll eat, then they'll usually let me have it.

I can speak it, but I have a hard time understanding it sometimes, if the speaker talks too quickly. I'm getting better, though. Listening to Japanese music is definitely helping.

I haven't done much with it due to an increase in my school workload. But it's coming along^^

How's your fic coming?

Haven't worked on it since my last update. I went to my old town for spring break, so I spent most of my time there either sleeping or hanging out with friends. Now that I'm back home, the updates'll probably come faster, though. I had meant to do MORE while I was there, not LESS. xD

I went to 'Japan' in Disneyworld once. The food was expensive but amazing! All the stuff they had in the shops, so totally cool. I might actually go there in the next couple years if things get pulled back together soon.

lol, I'm like that on vacations all the time. I swear I'm going to clean up the yard, or my room, or study more, etc. But I usually wind up relaxing more and catching up on some reading.

My favorite meal (Osaka beef) is expensive, but with it I get rice, salad, soup, fish, desert (Ice cream with bean paste, a surprisingly good combination), plus the beef, chicken, gyoza, a scallop, plus some tempura vegetables. All that for 25 dollars or so.

Quick question: Do girls typically get as worked up as guys over an 'indirect kiss'?

Depending on the guy, probably more so. If it's Yuji we're talking about, then I'd say it's half and half. :P It also depends on the kind of indirect kiss it is.

Okay, let's say it like 'hey, want a sip of my drink' type of indirect kiss. That's pretty innocous among younger kids, but it seems to be a staple of manga romance that I've seen reenacted in real life.

Are you a fan of XXXHolic at all? (If you're not, I promise the title is misleading, and it's not about xxx's or holic!)

I've heard of it. I do love Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, but I've never really looked at XXXHolic. lol the first time I heard that title I was like, "just what are they SELLING here?!" xD

I'm also a Tsubasa fan. But I actually like XXXHolic better. It's a more sedate story, but it goes more into cultural notes about Japan, including mythology and folk tales and the like. It's easier to follow than Tsubasa, that's for sure.

If you ever get into it, you'll have to tell me if you picture Yuji as more a Kimihiro or a Doumeki. That was the question I was going to ask.

That sort of scene is something I've been fearing would happen for a long time. Cody's grandmother goes to the same church as me, and he knows I go there, so if he wanted to find me he could just show up at any time. Admittedly, I've been crushing on Mike for a long time. xD

For the record, the Kimihiro from Holic was where Yuji's original name came from. But Kimihiro is surprisingly irritating to type, for some reason. Anyway, Doumeki is sort of like me in real life, except I'm not nearly that tall or cool or silent, lol.

I'm pretty sure girls can read me easily. Being aloof and mysterious in high school worked for the most part, but a few girls managed to see through that, and unfortunately, they were not the type I wanted to get through to the 'real' me.

If we talk cosmetically, I've always been a sucker for ponytails or pigtails. Maybe athletic, but average looking. And I'm cool with glasses, too. Almost anything is visually appealing to me, I guess. Be it goth or geek, lol. It all comes down to personality.

Yeah, i used to make a huge deal of looks, but the guy I'm 'talking' to now isn't exactly a looker (he's not ugly by any means), but he has like, every personality trait I'd dreamed that my man would have. But if we're talking appearances, I'd say that I'd go for tall, broad-shouldered, with nerdy-glasses (that sounds so silly xD). Hair... I don't really care about hair as long as it's maintained.

I agree. It just looked weird without the blush before. And thank you! I take pride in my lineart. The pen I use for my lineart is a "Pigma Micron 05." It's .45 mm width, which i love, although I do occasionally wish for a thinner one. Like when I'm inking eyes. I'll need to go back and get a thinner one, if I can. FYI I'm so glad Sakura's hair turned out the way it did. My colored pencil set didn't come with pink, so I had to color it a light red, then blend it with white. I was sooo afraid it wouldn't turn out.

Lineart is one place that everyone seems to take a different approach. I have a friend who swears by mechanical pencils of a particular width (can't remember it -_-'), while another insists on only 'real' pencils. I prefer the cushioned grip of a mechanical pencil for support, and the thinner the better because I'm so bad at drawing straight lines and circles (and curves, and uneven lines, periods, and...).
You blended that perfect color? That's very impressive!

It happened quite on accident! It's just how it turned out, lol.

About 5 years ago, I met this guy. (Isn't that always the way?) During those 5 years, he was in and out of my life as he pleased, putting me in an emotional wreck. I didn't have enough self-worth to tell him to stay away for good; I'd get my love wherever it was offered. I had to pretend like I wasn't in love around my parents and friends (he was 5 years older than me, and I was underage, so that's definitely a no-no.), and every time he left, I had to pretend that my heart wasn't breaking.

This past August, we got back in touch and he asked me to move in with him after I graduated from high school. I didn't even know what to say. I didn't know what I was going to be majoring in! I wasn't ready to decide something like that. Well, I found out from one of my friends that he had asked several other girls the same thing, around the same time. Including that friend. We both told him to go to hell, and I haven't heard from him since.

He recently came up to my friend and apologized to her, saying that what he did was really bogus, but he only asked her and me, nobody else. She's forgiven him and now they're all lovey-dovey.

So now, I'm left without a reason to hate him, seeing the guy I (used to?) love with someone else, and I don't even know what to feel.

Well, the most I can do is give advice. Feel free to disregard it, of course. I'm not you, so my thoughts may be different.

If it were me in your shoes, I'd look past the initial attraction to the guy and be honest: can he be trusted? Is he sincere? If it's 'no' to either one of those, then you've got a reason to at least be distrusftul.

In any case, I wouldn't be too forgiving. If he can treat your feelings with such disregard, age taboo or not...

I most certainly have no place to tell you how to feel, but I could understand feeling betrayed. Maybe a cautious friendship is the approach to take here? As in, try to be happy for your friend, but be ready to be there for her if things go sour.
