The sword katas get stock put into them, but that's because they actually would have some value in combat. It's fundamentals and combat training, angles, footwork, the whole nine yards.The other art that does the katas/forms has two types of people. There's the type that only wants belts. They have the perfect katas and can spar for points (ie crap sparring where you can barely touch your opponent). I only pretend to have interest in katas so I can eventually get my next belt. The other type is the "combat" type. That's more along the lines of my thoughts. We want to know the self-defense and fundamental aspects more than anything. BUt that kind is rare, everyone wants that black belt more than they want the skills they need to protect themselves.
Oh, btw A1, I forgot! I was complaining to you about how I never got my Asst. Instructor certification- well, it finally happened, much to my surprise! Apparently, I'm going to be pushed harder in the arts I'm currently taking. So now, at least, I can spice my training up a bit!
If they charge 100 per punch, then I'll take a couple cuts myself, lol!
btw, when you were having trouble getting on earlier, that was happened to a lot of people. People who were already on could stay on, but they couldn't submit pics or fics.
Anyway, I've got to go for the night A1. I'll try to be on later tomorrow, and I'll check my pro as often as I can. If you wind up having a problem, leave me a message and I'll get on as quick as I can. Talk to you tomorrow amigo!
