This is a belated birthday gift for my good friend Cat-chan. It’s late. As usual. I’ll do better on timing next year.
Kay-chan’s gift is so much better than mine anyway, but oh well.
Anyway, I decided that instead of drawing Cat this year, I would try one of Cat-chan’s other OCs. Mio fell victim to my urge.
Mio seems to me to be more of a solemn person who doesn’t smile often (not a scowler like Kaiba, but just not a smiler). However, in reading over her information from her bio (which I will provide the link to in the credits), I discovered she likes to dance. That’s what the pose is SUPPOSED to look like. I don’t know if I succeeded or failed.
I am actually rather pleased, on the whole, with this picture. The coloring came out okay, the eye looks really good, and the pose itself is alright. But I must explain some things.
First, I didn’t know how to color Mio’s hair in my typical style, so I went as close to Cat-chan’s as I could.
I referenced the eye from Cat-chan’s eye sheet for her YuGiOh characters (which I’ll provide the link to in the credits when I get down there), though the coloring is basically my own.
The pose (including the hands) was referenced from my own body in a mirror, so that’s why the chest is really low. Also, I’m REALLY skinny and small in the chest, so that’s why everything looks so small. I actually had to fix the right side in Photoshop ‘cause the sketch was horrid.
The head is too big for the body. Sorry. I didn’t realize that until after I’d finished most of the outline, including the lineart for the head :tears:
I think the legs get too small down at the bottom, and I know the feet are totally too small, and the left (our right) boot looks really wrong.
I still have lots of work to do on my art, it seems. I shall keep working hard to get better at this.
Please, don’t ask about the background. Just know that I didn’t know what to do so I did whatever I felt like doing at the time. Also know that it took me forever to get the pattern I wanted right.
Originally I wanted to steal a sunset from Google but that didn’t work out since the one I wanted was way too small for this picture.
Warning—Large file with 117 layers.
2nd WARNING: This has been resized so some of the initial detail has been lost.
I’m sure you guys totally want to see a self-centered/best-friend-obsessed picture again. Yes. That’s totally why you all watch me.
And I’m sure you totally want to see more chibi and mermaid stuff from me. Oh yes. It’s not like I’m obsessed or anything.
Well, I present to you my biggest project since . . . I don’t know when. 11 people in one picture is too much, but I’ve done it. It took hours. I’m not kidding, HOURS.
Because there are so many chibis and they’re all underwater, the perspective is awkward. I could’ve done something more realistic, but I didn’t, obviously.
My anatomy still needs work—especially in the shoulder area and getting the neck in the center of the face when doing a front-on picture like this one. The facial structure, necks, shoulders, and collarbones are messed up, my bad.
The rest of the anatomy is OKAY, but it still needs work. I failed at the height differentiation, by the way, but the body type looks somewhat normal (especially since none of us have the same one).
On that note, I must say that I used no references for the poses, which isn’t surprising since they’re so simple. I only used references for the hair on characters I seldom draw, which includes my own, unfortunately (*shakes fist* Amane, why is your hair so difficult for some reason?).
What do you mean they all have the same expression with slight modifications? >_> <_<
Forgive the generic background and very large bubbles. My brain runs away without me sometimes.
>_> <_< Oops, I suppose you want to know who all these weird and random people are. Forgive me, let me inform you.
Row 1 (left to right): Yori (Wulf’s main YuGiOh OC), Kel (My main YuGiOh OC), Krisalyn (Wulf’s companion YuGiOh OC), Kiara (My companion YuGiOh OC)
Row 2 (left to right): Wulf, Me
Row 3 (left to right): Kia (Yori’s oldest daughter), Mana (Yori’s youngest daughter), Arryeana (Kia’s brother Neko’s girlfriend), Atina (Kel’s youngest), Amane (Kel’s oldest daughter)
Note: The KC necklace Krisalyn and Kiara are holding represents their love for Seto Kaiba, whom they are both paired with.
I hope that informs you. If you’re curious about any of them and want more information, don’t hesitate to ask.
Now back to my rambling.
I realize that there are two of each color present minus the gray/silver one. I truly did not intend to do that, but I did want each person to have a different color, even if that meant different shades of the same color. I’m satisfied, to be honest. I did my best to match their tails to their color scheme.
Although the expressions are generally the same (yay for copy and paste because I’m a cheater XP), I tried to modify them slightly to match the personalities of the people they’re featured on, such as eyebrows or mouth size. The eyes themselves are exactly the same in lineart.
I’m very proud of Arryeana’s hair as far as the color. See, it’s originally black but she dyes it blonde at one point. I used to have it much lighter then I experienced what it looks like when someone with black hair dyes it blonde—it doesn’t look the way I had it before. This shade is much more accurate, so yay me.
There are things in here I’m still not satisfied with, but overall, I’m pleased. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and that you didn’t get bored with my endless ranting.
WARNING: This has been resized so some of the initial detail has been lost.
I can’t believe how long this has taken me to do. Goodness gracious, I’m so bad.
I wanted to test out my pose-making skills, and I think I was bored in some class, or something, which is how this picture came about. Being the Yori-obsessed person that I am, she happened to be the victim of my doodling.
There were many mistakes on the original sketch, so I changed a lot when doing the lineart, which I’m perfectly okay with.
On the note of poses, the only thing I referenced in this picture was the tennis shoes, which I referenced my own tennis for.
For those of you who don’t know, Yori Moto (the redhead in this picture) belongs to my bestest best friend in the entire world, Wulf-chan. I tend to sketch her a lot.
In knowing that, I should also tell you that I color her a lot with either a green or maroon shirt, so this time I went with purple.
Alright, story time!
Yori, Yugi’s older sister, is staying at the Game Shop for a short time—what she deems as a visit. One afternoon, she’s worn out from a day of doing . . . stuff, so she curls up on the floor of the main room of the house and falls asleep. Yami, exploring the house in Yugi’s body, finds her there. She looks so Peaceful, he thinks. I wish she’d look more like that when she’s Awake.
For those of you not in the know, Yori is rather tense and a bit standoffish with other people, which is all due to caution.
So, in light of that, I’ll inform you that the shadowy-looking blob is supposed to be Yami. I was going with a generic blank shadow—I know it looks NOTHING like him.
I know you guys don’t know who she is and probably don’t care, but I hope you like it anyway.
I know, I drew this a LONG time ago, so it’s about time I got around to coloring.
I know, I know. I’m obsessed with mermaids. I get it. I can’t help it though—they’re easy for me to draw, especially when I’m sketching straight out of my head XP
Okay, dunno why, but this picture is HUGE. Or at least it seems so to me. Like, when I was filling in the colors, I pulled it up to 1600% on the zoom and I couldn’t see all of one eye on the screen. WEIRD.
>_> <_< I think I might possibly be obsessed with drawing myself XP
This is what I’m calling a super chibi because it’s a lot smaller and chibi-er than my normal chibis. I don’t know why I drew it, but I did, and I’ve colored it, so I’m posting it.
This is the same outfit as my dA ID (which you can see here http://kelekiahgaladrian.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4pscl5 if you so desire).
I’m not sure how I feel about the anatomy, but I suppose.
Different eye style, but it’s not too bad. I kinda like it.
WHATISTHATBACKGROUNDIDON’TEVEN—
I dunno what was going through my head. Oh well.
Even if you might be sick of seeing my anime persona, please don’t crush my hopes and dreams of art. But I’ll take hints since I have lots of room to improve.
Yes, I am biased. Yes, I think I’m cute. No, you don’t have to agree with me—I simply needed a good title.
I made a new ID for dA because I got sick of looking at the old one, and I feared the bad publicity it gives me (peeps don’t like my OCs much it seems).
So I made a new one.
I don’t really have much to say about this one.
Let’s see, I stole the pose from Coco, one of the mermaid princesses on Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. One day I’ll be able to draw from my head XP I remember that the left hand was REALLY hard, and it still looks a little funny XP
This is my favorite outfit. No, I don’t own it in real life, but it’s the one I visualize when I RP in my head. Also, I suck at tennis XP And I realize the feet are way too small XP
I like the hair, eyes, and background. And I think I drew the outfit fairly well.
This is a contest entry for one of my friend’s groups on dA. This particular group is a fanclub for the amazing Kay Simms, an OC of my good friend Kay-chan. The theme was Kay, so I opted for RyuuzaShipping, her pairing. This piece, luckily enough, was on time.
Despite my doubt that I’ll have a chance, I had fun doing it, so I’m satisfied with that.
First off. Mermaid obsessed? I think so. I dunno why. I like the red and blue on Kay and Seto. I originally had Seto in green and then realized what that looked like. So blue it is.
I hate Seto’s hair. I hate it. But I tried.
I do realize that Seto’s eyes aren’t the same size nor shape. Oh well.
This was done straight out of my head, so it looks funny, but I’m very proud of the way Kay turned out, especially her eyes and face shape. Hair, not so much.
Yay for heights and making them look somewhat correct XD
And yay for bubbles. I love bubbles~
As for a scenario, Seto is embarrassed (his blush might be hard to see, but that’s okay) because he’s got a very important question for Kay but finds it hard to get the words out. Kay, on the other hand, is completely oblivious to what it is he wants to ask and is encouraging him to just spit it out. You can come up with the question if you so desire ^_~
This is a contest prize for a girl on dA who participated in one of my friend’s group’s contests. Yeah, that’s a mouthful. Point being, I volunteered a prize, and this is what came of it—she asked for her OC Meshiki cuddling with Seto in front of a fireplace.
At the time I finished this picture, it was quite late. I should stop doing that.
Since I fail at life, this isn’t in front of fireplace—I don’t know how to color that.
Since my anatomy sucks and I couldn’t come up with a visual for cuddling, I looked up a base on dA to use as a reference (see credits for link). Since the base doesn’t cover a lot of the bottom part, I had to draw that myself, and I think it looks a little funny, but not horrible.
I referenced the couch in my living to get this couch just right, and I’ll admit, I’m very proud of it, both in coloring and in design.
I also really like the colors I used for the carpet and walls. I wish MY living room looked like that.
I hate Kaiba right now. I’m sick of drawing him. Also, his hair and eyes came out really odd, and I don’t like it XP
This is both a Christmas and birthday gift for my dear ‘nee~chan~ Jenny (she was once a member here, but now she’s exclusively dA). At the time I finished this, it was quite a bit late.
Explaining the complications of this character would be too much for me, so I’ll just say that her name is Revea, which is one of Lacie’s forms.
At first, I didn’t know what I wanted to do for ‘nee~chan~ but I eventually decided on this because I was more familiar with this design than Lacie’s other design. Unfortunately, I focused more on the dress than the pose itself.
This was done straight out of my head. The only reference I used was of ‘nee~chan’s latest picture of Revea, which I don’t think she has posted anymore, and it was to make sure I had the design and colors right.
The background is to represent Revea’s happiness and sweetness ‘cause that’s how I see her~
My anatomy and shading still need lots of work.
The hair was an absolute pain to color *shakes fist*
^^0 I think there are too many hair shines. Oops.
Overall, I’m proud of it.
I have quite a bit to say about this picture.
First, no references. That’s why it looks so crappy XP Cat-chan suggested that I try to do more from my head rather than reference all the time even if the pictures aren’t that good. She’s right, you know; it makes good practice. But that’s one of my hesitations for this. It isn’t that good ‘cause I’m not good at doing out of my head. My anatomy needs work too, and that’s partially why the hands are hidden. Again.
From the neck up, Seto looks fantastic, and I really like Kay’s hair and eyes.
I laugh at my attempts to mix and match Christmas colors with their outfits ^^0 Not the best, but not too bad either.
I partially referenced the table (just so I could get the legs right), and the coloring on it is odd, but I dunno how to color wood XP
My shading still needs work XP
That tray of cookies sucks, tray and cookies both XP
I’m not sure how I feel about the background colors. The texture on the carpet is okay, but it’s brown, and mixes in with the rest of the coloring. The wall is odd too. The color isn’t TOO bad, but . . . I dunno. The texture is a bit . . . too rough. I should’ve softened it more.
Minus the torso and arms, the size comparisons between the two aren’t too bad—particularly in the legs and feet. And you know what, I think Kay’s head is bigger than Seto’s XP OOPS.
. . . OOPS, I forgot to shade the floor XP *falls over*
It’s not the best, but I think it’s pretty good for my level of skill.
As a side note, first pic of 2012! WOOT! (Even though I’ve submitted a handful of pictures before this, they were all completed last month. This is the first picture I’ve finished this year XD)
This is meant to represent Sariah (her YuGiOh OC) when she’s sleeping within the bracelet before Amber awakens her, which is what she’s waiting for. The title is meant to be her dialogue. That’s why she’s got the Sennen Eye above her head and they’re both glowing gold, and why the background’s black.
I don’t particularly like the color scheme on this one since the hair, skin, shoes, and dress are all really similar in color. Even the gold is a bit too close. I should’ve gone with the dress as the white-ish one she wears in all Universe’s pictures of her, but it looked funny to me XP
Her hair also really bothers me. It doesn’t look much like the way Universe does it, and I struggled with getting the strands going the way I wanted them to. I don’t even know if it’s realistic or not XP
Also, her hands bother me, but I’m ignoring them.
This pose was straight out of my head, which is probably why it looks a bit odd, and I understand that this isn’t really an expression Sariah would have, but since she’s unconscious, I figured it would be okay XP
I’m sorry if none of that makes sense to you. I’ll give you a link to Universe-chan’s DA if you’re interested.
First, some technicalities, then I’ll get to the good stuff.
This came pretty much straight out of my head (Cat’s leg pose was briefly referenced from a picture I did of myself that was referenced from a base a while ago). For that, I am somewhat proud.
I really like the way Moe came out ‘cause she does look young even if she sort of looks like my chibi style.
Atem’s hair KILLED me. Not the drawing of it. That was fairly easy and it looks fine. The coloring, though. That was the killer.
Cat and Atem are wearing Christmas shirts, and sweatpants because I say so.
And now for a few negative words:
The background looks funny.
The arms and hands bother me.
Cat’s hair bothers me.
I think Moe’s hair is too long ^^0
Atem’s head is WAY too big.
And now for the good stuff XD
I’m going to say that Kay, Seto, and Aelita are joining the Motou’s for Christmas and Kay is insistent on taking pictures, but no one’s QUITE ready yet, which is why everyone looks so odd despite the fact that they’re smiling. You can make up the dialogue if you so please. I don’t care either way.
This is an art trade I did with my good friend Kelly. My half was very late, and it was so late, I ended up doing a Christmas theme on it. She asked for a chibi version of her Harry Potter pairing, KellyXDraco. I know they don’t really look like chibis, but I tried XP
It’s supposed to look like it’s snowing, but there isn’t any snow in front of the couple ^^0 Oops.
I don’t really have a scenario in mind, so imagine whatever you’d like.
And now I’ll say a few negative words:
I don’t like the way Draco came out, at all, especially his hair. It doesn’t really look like him.
I don’t like the way Kelly’s hair came out.
I don’t like drawing sideways chibis since I apparently suck.
This picture was drawn in August of 2011 and colored in October of 2011. Ignore the lame title.
This is my art trade with Kay-chan from a few months ago. I never got around to posting it here.
A few things of note:
I don’t like Seto’s hair and it was being difficult for me.
I, unfortunately, had to reference the hair of both characters and the YoriXYami picture that’s in my gallery somewhere.
The hand, on the other hand (lol XP), was NOT referenced. I think it came out pretty good even if it isn’t 100% anatomically correct.
The hair took FOREVER. WAY too much detail and this picture is too large XP But I’m proud of it.
Very simple background. I had absolutely no ideas.
Overall, I’m very proud of this picture.
Also, they’re both blushing, though it’s very difficult to see XP
Hope you guys enjoy.
I didn’t have a particular scenario in mind, so anyone is free to come up with one on their own, if you want, but if you do, you must share it with me in the comments~
We’ll go with a mini character intro first, then my process and feelings on this picture.
Starting on the far left, we have Kel Shadow! Beside her, Kiara Jensen! Second from the right, Cat Tsuru! On the far right, Kay Simms! Please see credits to know who belongs to who. I’m tired of writing it down for you.
Alright, process. Let’s see. First, the sketch and the finished product don’t look very similar, especially in the eyes. And I’ll be honest, I don’t like the sketch, like, at all. I felt better about the lineart, except I wasn’t happy with the eyes, Kiara’s neck’s too long, ALL OF THE HANDS ARE HIDDEN, Cat’s hand is nasty looking and I hate it, and she looks like she’s bending her knees XP I honestly didn’t mean for that to happen to Cat, but that’s what came out. FORGIVE ME!
I really hate that I can’t draw hands TT_TT Or feet. This was supposed to be a FULL picture, but I couldn’t get the feet right, so I cut them off.
Um, other things, let’s see, Kay’s top is actually supposed to be a short dress *sigh* and her boots are supposed to have thread x’s like Cat’s boots, but it wasn’t until after I’d finished the lineart that I realized it XP
As far as coloring goes, I don’t like Kel’s hair, I think her shirt is too high, Kay’s eyes are a little odd, and it’s weird that Kay and Kiara’s pupils are darker than Kel and Cat’s.
Overall, I’m happy with the expressions, the way Kel came out (minus the coloring on her hair *shakes fist*), the way Cat came out, Cat’s hair (both colored and drawn), and Kay’s hair (colored). Out of everyone, I like Kiara least, but her expression is okay. I think my folds are slowly getting better, though I could still use some work.
It came out larger than intended, but that’s alright. The background was horrible to work with and took me forever. It’s supposed to be a brick wall. I decided that since everyone has too much blue (what is it with my pictures and blue? GOODNESS), I wouldn’t put any in the background.
After hours and hours and hours and hours of staring at this thing, I’d decided I hated it, like, a lot. I hated this picture and wanted nothing to do with it. It wasn’t until after I’d finished coloring it that I accepted it and thought it was okay. All my mistakes still bother me, though, but I don’t hate it anymore.
I know for sure that Cat’s outfit is her Doma one (and the one I draw all the time XP), and Kay’s USED to be her Doma one. I don’t know if it is anymore. Kiara’s and Kel’s outfits are their official Doma outfits, though I haven’t thought about shoes yet. Let me think on that.
While Kay and Cat are from the same story, and Kel and Kiara are from the story, these four characters’ stories aren’t the same. I just figured that if they ever met, they’d become friends, hence the title.
Hello everyone! Guess what I have for you! CANON ART!
It’s been so long since I last drew fanart. I can’t even remember when. I could look it up but I’m too lazy.
Well, about a month ago, shortly after I returned home from my vacation, I decided I wanted to draw something to follow up my last mini spree (see previous three pictures, minus the contest entry). So I sat down to draw. At first, all I knew I wanted was a different pose than what I normally did. I drew the neck, bust, stomach and lower back and got to the butt. I didn’t know where to go from there. I tried a couple of leg poses. They didn’t work for me. So I said, “What the heck,” and slapped down a tail. I put on the tail fin and drew the arms, then sat there. Who was I drawing? Obviously it was female, I knew that much, but which female? Since I didn’t want to have to look up too many references, I considered one of my own characters. But since it was shortly after THE BEAST, I decided against that. So I went with the only canon girl I know how to draw without too much trouble, Anzu.
Well . . . I had to look up a screenshot for her from a side-ish view like that since I’d never done it before. But that’s okay. References for characters you can’t quite draw are just fine. The rest of this picture came out of my head, woo hoo. I’m such a cheater, though, using a mermaid tail to get out poses. And I hid the hands again. *bristles* I hate hands XP
Like with my previous Merpeople pictures, I use the full body look, which is why the top of the blue is jagged; they’re supposed to represent scales.
Anyway, I had fun coloring Anzu, though I don’t think I did the hair strands quite right XP
My favorite part of Anzu is her eyes. They came out BEAUTIFULLY. More beautifully than I expected.
And now, the background and such. The rock probably should’ve been more of a gray than a brown, but whatever. A brown rock is what we have XP You should all recognize the clouds in the background. It’s the same cloud brush I’ve been using since forever (alright, only the past couple of months, and I’ve only used it on six pictures, but close enough XP). I was having a bit too much fun with it, and I think I made them go a bit too low XP
But what I really want to talk about concerning the background is the water at the bottom. When I first drew this picture, I knew I’d have to do water down there somehow, and I had no clue how. When I got to it in coloring, I created a new layer, then stared. How was I going to do this? I eventually got around to using the box tool and created one at the bottom, chose the same color for both colors, grabbed the gradient, lowered the opacity until the color looked good enough, then filled the box. I deselected the same box, took the smudge tool, and tried to make it look like waves splashing again the rock. *shakes head with a sigh* I obviously am a beginner at this XP After that, I locked the layer, grabbed the paint brush tool, picked one of the softer settings, lowered the opacity, tried to make foam, then took an even softer setting with the same low opacity and tried to add foamy waves-ish to the water. It’s rather difficult to see, though XP But I tried. How’s my first attempt at such types of water?
I think this is one of my favorites of my work so far—I really like it. And I hope you guys do too.
Before I leave you with the copyrights, I should probably tell you about the title/some sort of scenario for this picture (I got so excited in talking about my process that I neglected the story XP). Anzu is waiting for her prince to come find her. I leave it up to your imagination as to who that prince is. I ship Peach (AnzuXYugi), Azure (AnzuXSeto), Vex (AnzuXBakura), and Manipula (AnzuXMarik), though I’m slowly coming to like Thorn (AnzuXYamiMarik, and my feelings for this pairing are really complicated XP), Persevere (AnzuXDuke), and Host (AnzuXRyou).
Anyway, comments? Please? You know you want to give them to me.
Luckylace has been very kind to me and I’ve done my best to support her as she has supported me. So when I discovered she was holding a contest, I thought I’d try my hand at it. Now, while I designed a literary magazine at one point, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m the best at designing. This kind of thing actually isn’t really my forte, but I tried it out anyway. I’m not expecting to place in the contest, I just hope luckylace enjoys it :D
Just as a few notes:
I used the same size of the template luckylace offered for us.
Despite the fact that pink is not my favorite color in the slightest, it’s a really fun color to work with. Coulda done purple (which is my FAVORITE color in the entire world), but thought I’d play with pink XD
I know in the point-system, it says that it must be organized so writing can be done on the lines, but the way that I did it has been done before in the professional world. I didn’t think the picture in the middle of the lines was too distracting (especially with it so faint like that) and I hope it turns out okay. I wanted to personalize it, so I included that picture of my anime-self that I did (you can see a form of it here, though the one I used has no background: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-804530.html)
If nothing else, I hope you enjoy it, luckylace!! Wish me luck, guys!
P.S. Had a difficult time trying to decide where to put this XP]]>I'll Protect What's Mine by KelekiahGaladrianurn:uuid:ef65c679-8974-3b1b-7242-2d65fb4489de2011-07-20T13:59:02-07:00Woo hoo, another finished awesome pretty picture~ I worry a little bit about this one, though, but I’ll explain that in a little bit.
First, if you follow my gallery regularly, you should all recognize this as Cat Tsuru, one of my most favorite YuGiOh OCs in all of existence. Shortly after drawing the beast (see here: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-809284.html), I realized how much of a pain it was to draw eyes so small, so I wanted to draw something really big to play with drawing eyes. On a whim, I chose Cat ‘cause I love this OC to death. Unfortunately, the sketch has my traditional eyes. Let me explain this further.
In drawing Cat, I decided that instead of going with what I normally did, I wanted to try to match Cat-chan’s style more, mainly concerning the bangs. In the midst of doing the lineart on photoshop, I decided on another whim that I wanted to try to imitate Cat-chan’s eye style so they would better fit Cat. But that’s only in their general form. When I got around to coloring it, I chose to do my own coloring style because I have a fierce hatred for black pupils for some strange reason. I hope Cat-chan doesn't mind and I hope I didn’t royally screw up the eyes XP
Once again, I drew Cat in her Doma outfit because I’m rather attached to it (it’s my favorite) and it’s one I know I can somewhat draw.
Speaking of the background, she’s standing in front of the ocean, but not on the beach. Like, on the docks or something. Yeah. Whatever.
I realize that while her head and shoulders are relatively proportional, her hips are a little small, and I know both hands are a little too small as well. I’m still working on my anatomy XP On the thought of hands, please note that she’s clutching her cartouche in her left hand and her right hand is holding the Dark Magician Girl (not that you can see it, but you should be aware of that).
Go ahead and imagine what’s going on here. I have no clue what kind of scenario would be best XP
Please, please, please comment. I would really appreciate it.
First off, for those of you who don’t know, this is Ray Ray Leowis, my anime-self/self-insert/whatever you want to call her.
I drew this picture in a small bout of depression, which is why it’s depressing. I needed to vent my current feelings and voila, this was born. I wasn’t depressed when I colored it, but I wanted to keep the dark theme going.
I like everything about the drawing of this character except for the arms and hands. They really bug me XP And I think the crotch is too low.
The idea for the rest of the background was to have it raining but lucky me doesn’t know how to color in rain yet XP Not to mention, I left the clouds, grass, and blue all on the same layer (that’s bad for me when working with backgrounds XP). So you get that mess instead.
This file is freakishly huge and you can see all my lineart mistakes when up that close (I will eventually master the pressurized tablet in order to make my lines look better). I’d resize it but then you’d lose the detail on the hair and eyes and both are my favorite parts of my own coloring style XP
I hope you all like and I hope at least SOMEONE will comment. Pretty please?
This beast took me . . . 2 hours to draw, 2-3 hours to outline, and 3-5 hours to color (way too much stupid BLUE, everyone has at least something that is BLUE, I hate blue right now XP). 83 layers (was once 87, but as I outlined, I changed some things, which gave me need to delete a few of them). 83 HORRIBLE LAYERS. I have NEVER used that many layers before, and never before have I drawn that many people in one picture. I’ve done four a handful of times, but never six, despite the fact that one of them is a chibi. Holy cow. This thing was HUGE. And to think I want to try one with almost twice as many people *dies* Good thing none of them will be wearing clothes (MERPEOPLE FTW). AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT’S SAD?! As soon as I finished coloring it, I had no clue what to do with the background. I did a few versions, but none of them stuck with me. This one’s supposed to have a transparent background. We’ll see if it actually worked.
Goodness, now that I’m past that, where do I even begin? I suppose I should intro all the characters.
First, the chibi on top. Your most beloved Lego-chan AKA Ray Ray Leowis, teh awesome creator and artist (just in case you’re confused, the chibi is wearing shorts and leggings, which is why the legs are white). Behold teh awesome me :D I personally really like my anime self.
Now, from left to right, Orenji Ringo, Kel Shadow, Venessa Potter, Sakura Kaoru, and Parvani Ohara :D
Although you should recognize most of them, I’ll give you a brief overview. Orenji Ringo is my Tokyo Mew Mew OC, Kel Shadow is my main YuGiOh OC, Venessa Potter (gee, I wonder where she’s from XP) is my Harry Potter series OC, Sakura Kaoru is my Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch OC, and Parvani Ohara is my Pokémon OC. I will give you the links to profiles already given so I don’t have to redo them here (also, shameless advertising here, feel free to please comment on the pictures offered too, despite the fact that some of them are a little old, especially Kel’s):
Kel Shadow: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-785846.html (Please note that this bio has been edited since I posted this picture and although I made the changes there, most people tend to not notice. Also, disregard the comment for Millennial Star, which is currently undergoing revision with a different name is the story itself is currently discontinued)
Sakura Kaoru: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-790036.html (Please note that a few small revisions were made to her character and bio and are included within the new profile)
Parvani Ohara: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-794302.html
Orenji Ringo: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-800004.html
Please note that the outfits shown are the signature outfits for all five bottom characters.
As much as I have a feeling people will not like this OC, I’ll offer a bio for Ven so people can understand her better.
Birth Name: Alyssa Lily Potter
Adopted Name: Venessa Malfoy
Name She Goes By: Venessa Lily Potter
Age: 11-17 (depending on where you are in the series)
Height: 4’10”-5’7” (also depending on where you are in the series)
Race: British
Family: Her true family consists of James (father), Lily (mother), Harry (twin brother), the Dursleys (aunt, uncle, cousin), and Sirius (godfather). Her adopted family consists of Lucius (father), Narcissa (mother), Draco (brother), and Bellatrix (aunt).
Parents were killed by Voldemort, Muggle neighbor found baby Alyssa and took her to orphanage, matron, who is a banished pureblood, gave baby to Narcissa, became a Malfoy, after first year of Hogwarts, Dumbledore considered giving her to Dursleys, Dursleys refused, Ven went with Weasleys instead
Harry was found by Hagrid, he couldn’t find Alyssa because the neighbor had already found her, he was taken to Dursleys, after first year of Hogwarts, Dumbledore tried to give both Potter twins to the Dursleys, they refused, both went to the Weasleys instead
(Yes, it’s convoluted, I understand that, give me a break)
Love Interest: Draco Malfoy (yes, I understand this is weird, however, it is a good explanation as to why such a cold-hearted bully would be interested in a romantic relationship *eye roll*)
Wand: 9” Maple, Fairy wing core
Short Background:
- Venessa (nicknamed Ven by Draco, and that’s what she goes by) has a scar like Harry’s (his is on the right side of his forehead, hers on the left) but it disgusts her and she uses a special cream to hide it.
- Draco is not only her love interest, but her best friend. Their romantic feelings toward each other don’t consciously manifest until fourth year. They get together eventually, I haven’t really decided when yet.
- Ven is sorted into Gryffindor, much to her, Draco, and Gryffindor’s chagrin. Because of her supposed Malfoy heritage, she is shunned by the other students. She sits with Draco at mealtimes and classes with the Slytherins, corresponds with him through letters, rides to and from Hogwarts on the train with him, and sits by herself in classes without Slytherins (until she starts to make friends in Gryffindor).
- Ven doesn’t make friends with the Golden Trio until partway through their first year.
- Right after Christmas, Dumbledore reveals to Harry, Ven, and Draco that she is truly Harry’s twin, Narcissa confirms this.
- At the end of first year, Dumbledore decides he doesn’t want Ven going back to the Malfoy household now that he has rediscovered her, and tries to send her with Harry to the Dursleys, but the Dursleys won’t have any of it, so, after much debate and argument, Ven and Harry go to the Weasleys, where they spend every summer.
- Lots of canon stuff happens but since most of it is spoilerific and/or boring, I won’t relate it here, not to mention it’s really long. However, it’s important for you to know that Harry dies in Sirius’s place in the fifth book, which makes Ven the true Chosen One rather than Harry.
- Due to lots of stuff happening in fifth year, it is decided at the end that Draco will go with Ven to the Weasleys.
- Ven’s strengths lie in defense. Her best subject is Defense Against the Dark Arts (though she’s fairly good at Transfiguration and Potions). History of Magic, Divination, and Charms are her worst subjects. Her goal is to become a defensive spell worker and creating more effective defensive charms. She also wants to become an Animagus, which Sirius has suggested helping her with. She casts the Patronus Charm well (hers is an Eagle, which is probably what her Patronus would be).
- Ven is rather anti-social and has a hard time making friends.
- Rather than an owl (since Draco has one, she normally uses his), Ven owns a white cat by the name of Snow.
I understand that reading over this, you might think Ven is a Mary-Sue. If you want to believe that, fine, and while I can slightly agree, I’m against it. I just have a VERY convoluted opinion of the Harry Potter series, and although certain Harry personalities in many fanfictions I have read make him appealing to me, canon!Harry is an idiot and he drives me up a wall. So I had him die. The very original idea just left Ven as his twin, and then in a fit of madness, I decided to replace Harry with Ven entirely, then decided it would be better to keep Harry in canon until I killed him. I dunno, that’s just my opinion. Hate her if you want, but no harsh comments please.
Alright, now that that’s out of the way, I can more fully discuss the contents of the picture’s design and such. I’ve seen multiple people on DA do this kind of thing before and I thought, “What the heck,” so I did it too (I’m good at doing things other people are XP). Besides, I wanted to show off my favorite characters to draw (though I honestly prefer Sakura’s idol form to her human form) and needed an excuse to draw Venessa.
Through this, you can tell I’m not a fan of long sleeves or covering sleeves, and I also have an obsession with blue (which is odd ‘cause purple’s my favorite color, go figure). You can also tell that I don’t really know how to shade and/or highlight properly—I hope to improve that eventually, but for now, I like my own style.
With this one, I decided I wanted each character to have the eye style (and the facial structure to the best of my ability) of their own fandom. I’m not sure I did that very well but I tried. Venessa, obviously, has my own style (very simplified, but mine-ish nonetheless (I think I borrowed it from a friend of mine a long time ago and never bothered to change it)) since realism is still way too hard for me. I hope they somewhat resemble what they’re supposed to, but if not, whatever.
As usual, the hair is my favorite part. I’m really proud of the way I do it, though I can always improve, especially in the initial drawing of the hair.
Kel’s face bothers me, Sakura’s face bothers me, Sakura’s legs bother me, Sakura’s arms bother me, and the lack of folds bother me. I really need to learn how to draw those better. And naturally, my lineart is rather thick. I’m trying to discover ways to make my pictures turn out better when I color, but it’s slow-going. I also need to find better ways to show different body sizes (for instance, Orenji is rather large in the chest for her age, which is NOT shown here XP it worked much better in the last picture of her I did XP) and show age better. Goodness, they all look rather young to me.
Speaking of, in this picture, Orenji and Parvani are 5’4”, Kel and Sakura are 5’5”, and Ven is 5’7”, and Orenji is 15, Parvani and Sakura are 16, and Kel and Ven are 17.
Hmm, I think that about covers it. Any questions, concerns, praise, or tips, please leave them for me in a comment. I’d really appreciate it :D
Man, this comment box is LONG. Hope that wasn’t too hard of a read for you guys, if anyone but luckylace reads them at all XP
For starters, I guess I’ll let you know that I drew this last month and colored it a couple days ago. Second, I’ll introduce the characters. On the right we have Orenji Ringo in human form! I hope you all remember her. If not, look up her the only picture I have of her in my gallery. On the left is a new character (well, new to you guys anyway) who doesn’t belong to me. That’s right, folks, this is Kurimu Kogaya! She’s a polar bear mew who belongs to my wonderful bff, Wulf-chan. She’s a little taller than Orenji and she’s very slim. Orenji, on the other hand, has a fairly large chest for a girl her age and is rather average in height (for girls, anyway). Ryou Shirogane is Kurimu’s love interest and she has two brothers, a younger one with whom she lives and a fairly unknown elder one who left forever ago. That’s really a contrast to Orenji who’s in love with Kishu and has two younger siblings (a boy and a girl) who happen to be twins. Just so you know, the information concerning Kurimu might be slightly incorrect since it is rather old and just out of my memory, so I don’t know if Wulf-chan’s done revisions on her story or not. For now, this is as accurate as I’ll be able to get. Also, while not from the same story (except in RPs), Kurimu and Orenji really are best friends.
Alright, now for the technicalities. I designed Kurimu’s outfit based on what I know of her likes and dislikes and what she’d be willing to wear. Orenji’s wearing her signature outfit. I like the black threads around her arms. I think they look cool. I think it’s really cool that Orenji and Kurimu share the same eye color. That’s totally a coincidence. I also find it funny that their skin colors are totally different.
I am very proud of how the hair and eyes came out. I don’t think my coloring style for them is perfect and it can always improve, but I think it looks really good. I will eventually learn how to color folds and clothing properly. I think I do alright with what I know for now, so that’s okay.
Like with the previous couple of pictures, I’ve been trying for more realistic backgrounds. They’re near a pond in a park somewhere. I did a cool effect with grass by making it smaller the further away it gets. I’m slowly learning perspective and I will eventually get there.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the original picture for this pose. I’ve never found the original (a friend of mine gave me an edited version, which is the one I referenced), but I know there’s a base somewhere on DA and lots of people have both used the base and the pose, so yeah. Just throwing that out there.
I suppose that’s all I really have to say. Um, I can tell you here and now that besides my YuGiOh OCs, Parvani (Pokémon OC), Sakura (Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch OC), and Orenji (Tokyo Mew Mew OC) are my three favorites. I really like the idea of my HP OC, but the three mentioned are the ones I’m really attached to. All three are fun to draw and I adore coming up with backstories and such for them. Just sayin’.
And now I shall leave you. I hope you would please leave me comments and favs—they make my day!
This is how we’ll do this: character bio/introduction, explanation for the title, discussion of technicalities.
Mini character introduction before I go onto the bio. This is my D. Gray-Man OC, Akane Otogisha! She’s not as developed as some of my other OCs and I haven’t really done much with her before, but I couldn’t help but make her. We’ll see how long she sticks around.
Name: Akane Otogisha
Age: 17 (I know she doesn’t look it, remember, I don’t do age well)
Height: 5’6”
Race: Japanese
Family: Parents, older brother, two younger sisters (none of them have names right now), all of them were slaughtered by akuma when Akane was 12
Love Interest: Allen Walker
Innocence: Equipment type
- Sky Evolution – necklace with silver gemstone charm, transforms into 2 ft long silver staff, round disc at top with picture of cloud in center, light blue with silver rim, attack is Raindance Light
- Sun’s Eternity – necklace with gold gemstone charm, transforms into 5 ft long gold staff, round disc on top with picture of sun in center, gold with gold rim, attack is Heaven’s Fury
Short Background:
- General Cloud Nyne found her after her parents were slaughtered and brought her back to the Asia branch. Komui heard about her and since Akane and Lenalee were close in age, suggested Cloud Nyne bring her to his branch.
- After being put into Komui’s care, Akane was signed up to train with General Tiedoll since Cloud Nyne was currently placed in the Asia branch.
- Akane and Lenalee became close friends, and Akane trained with Kanda. She was sent on missions with Kanda a lot of the time, though she often went with Lenalee as well, until they were old enough to go on solo missions, though Kanda reached that age a lot earlier than everyone else.
- Because of their similar heritage, Akane feels she connects better with Kanda than most people, though she thinks he only tolerates her while she views him as a very close friend.
- While not the best, she’s a very good exorcist and prides herself on being able to help those in need in ridding the world of the akuma. One of her greatest goals in life is to avenge her family by ending the war. She dreams of finally living a life of peace.
- She has a talent for hiding her true feelings and avoiding uncomfortable questions.
- After Allen arrives at the order, she finds herself spending a lot of time with him.
- While she likes Lavi from a distance, at first she finds him a little intimidating and doesn’t find herself in his presence too much, but once things get complicated, she finds herself with him quite a lot and gradually grows to love him as a friend.
Alright, now that that’s out of the way, I can kinda sorta explain the title. As I said, Akane is pretty good at using her Innocence and being an exorcist. I think that warrants at least some sort of title. Commander just seemed appropriate for the occasion. Now, I say she is the Commander of the Heavens because her Innocence is connected to the sky—Sky Evolution, Raindance Light, Sun’s Eternity, Heaven’s Fury, you get the picture. So yeah, Akane is my Commander of the Heavens.
Now for the technicalities. I’ve always wanted a character with double colors in the eyes. Not like one eye one color and the second eye a different color. No, I wanted two colors in both eyes. I decided that since D.Gray-Man was a fairly normal place to play with colors (that’s why Akane’s hair is lavender, the pink tips are dyed though), so I went with it. I’m happy with it. Her skin wasn’t originally that dark, but since she’s Japanese, I thought I’d make it darker, be somewhat accurate. I don’t like the legs or the hand very much, but hey, I tried. I’m proud of the hair and eyes, though.
This time, I gave up on making the background realistic. I went with the heavens theme and used a galaxy brush to make the background (I don’t remember who it was on DA I got them from—I’ll look it up later when I’m not tired). I’m happy with it.
It’s not my favorite picture, but it’s not bad either. It only goes to show that SOMETIMES, the poses straight out of my head don’t look very good. But not all the time. So yeah.
Please leave me comments. I know you all don’t like OC pictures (because if you did, you’d comment on all of mine). Maybe I’ll try to do a Merpeople or Fairy theme with some canon characters to make up for it, or something. We’ll see.
Anyway, before I get too much into the technicalities, I’ll discuss the circumstances, and then tell you all about my coloring process and such.
Kel often goes down to the beach. While she doesn’t live there, she enjoys visiting. It reminds her of home, which she desperately misses. The ocean isn’t the Nile River, but it’s home to her. While she’s down there one day, a local gang she’s had problems with in the past comes down onto the beach and demands a fight from her. She’s taken them down before and hasn’t had problems showing them who’s boss, so she agrees. Unbeknownst to her, each gang member has a hidden knife on them. The fight begins, Kel has the upper hand, and then, out of nowhere, the gang member she’s going head-to-head with pulls out his knife. She throws up an arm in defense and he slices it open. In retaliation, she quickly whips out her own dagger and slashes him across the face. She backs up quite a bit and allows the blood to drip. She thinks, You’ll pay for that. Then, infuriated beyond belief, she attacks.
Yay, that was fun. I don’t know if I’m putting that in Tears of a Lotus or not. I might, just for kicks and giggles. We’ll see.
Alright, technicalities. I’m not very good at perspective, so, in my attempts to try something new, I drew Kel from behind. I didn’t know what to do with her hand, so, being inspired through my BFF’s pic of Kel, I drew in her dagger. I drew the blood in on paper, but decided to use blood brushes I had found on DA to color it instead. It was lots nicer than my sorry attempts at coloring it from scratch. I dunno why I drew a headshot off to the side and part of me wishes I hadn’t, but at the same time, I don’t think the rage I intended for Kel would’ve been portrayed as well as I would’ve liked, not to mention it’s nice to have the perspective of Kel looking at me to be able to see where her streaks would land and whatnot. I think I probably should’ve added ears off to the side, though. They’d probably be visible. The coloring was pretty easy and I didn’t have all that big of a problem with it. The big problem for me was the background. I wanted to do something realistic because it’s something I need practice with. Perspective is another thing that I feel I need to practice, so I wanted something that showed both. I tried to do docks, that didn’t work, and I didn’t know what else to do, so, following my theme of beaches and oceans (as we can see with the last handful of pictures), I decided to try out another DA tutorial I found for the ocean and beach (that’s the one I have the link for). I couldn’t get the foam to work right, so I used what I could remember of a previous tutorial I’d found, though I can’t find it for some reason. Because of this background, I was able to come up with a story to fit the picture, yay!
I guess that’s all I really have to say for this picture. I hope my realistic backgrounds, my drawings, my coloring style, etc, get better with each picture and I hope I can be counted among the great artists soon.
I drew this picture last month and colored it a couple days ago. I got distracted by coloring one and a half more pictures yesterday, so that’s why I didn’t post.
Please comment. It would make me feel good, please.
At the beginning of her story, Amane is 17. When she gets married, she’s roughly 23 or 24. According to Wulf-chan, she looks 19 or 20 in this picture. Oh well. Age differences are still hard for me. Either way, she’s getting married, as the title says.
Speaking of the title, let me explain something. It was never expected that Amane would get married. Her family doubted it, her best friend doubted it, her siblings’ friends doubted it, her Ka thought it impossible for her go on a DATE much less get married. Jai was the only one who believed he could bend her. And lo and behold, he was right (well, Keiko could bend Amane a little bit because they’re best friends). But that’s why they got married so late. It took Jai a long time to soften Amane. That’s why she’s kinda sorta smiling in this picture. Yay. Amane decided she didn’t want to have anything to do with the wedding planning except for picking out a dress (see next paragraph for information on the dress), so she handed everything over to her sister since she wouldn’t let Jai plan the wedding. Atina enlisted Trinity and Keiko’s help and together, they decorated, made reservations, filed the orders, invited the guests, etc, but most importantly, they decided on a spring wedding on the beach (in April and Domino, to be exact, even though both Amane and Jai had gone to New York for school).
Now, as you have probably heard, Amane hates pink. But she couldn’t find a red dress and wasn’t willing to let her brother make her one, so she allowed pink to adorn her dress (because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get red to work, not to mention it’s too dark for a wedding dress).
This picture takes place right after the wedding itself. Jai wanted to sweep her away to do whatever he pleased with her, but the females in his family group wouldn’t let them. It was picture time. So Amane’s standing on the grass right above the beach for a boatload of pictures. Jai’s waiting off-screen until pictures have been taken to show off Amane’s dress and such before they’ll have pictures taken together.
The only other thing I feel I need to talk about is the background. I used the grass brush available in photoshop to create the grass, I used normal brushes for the sand, and mixed two ocean tutorials from DA to create that sorry attempt for an ocean you see at the top of the picture. It doesn’t look too bad, but it could be better.
I drew this two months ago and colored it a few days ago. Just a thought.
Anyway, please comment. Even though I like her prom dress better, I’m rather proud of this picture and have been told the pattern on the wedding dress is cool, so you should all fav and comment and tell me whether or not you like it and what your favorite part is, etc.
My dear lovely friends and fans (wait, I have those? I didn’t know that XP), meet Amane Bakura, Kel and Bakura’s eldest child. Well, close enough to eldest, anyway. She’s the elder twin. I’ll offer her bio and then discuss the picture afterward.
Name: Amane Bakura
Age: 17
Height: 5’7”
Race: 1/4 Elven 3/4 Egyptian
Family: Kel is her mother, Bakura is her father, Dhamen is her twin brother, Atina is her younger sister, Ryou is her uncle, Miho is her aunt (as in Miho Nosaka from Season 0), and Elora is her cousin.
Love Interest: Jai Wheeler, and their shipping is TwilightShipping
Ka: Grim Reaper Death
Items: Switchblade
Short Background:
- She attends Domino High and is on the school jazz dance team with Jai’s younger sister, Melina.
- Her best friend is Keiko Moto. They train together.
- She was once and sweet and innocent person, like her younger sister, but when her Ka manifested within her, her personality turned rather dark, similar to Bakura’s personality when he was possessed by Zorc.
- Her interests lie in war, blood, martial arts, death, and dance.
- Because Bakura recognizes his daughter’s personality as what was once his, he keeps an eye out for her. He’s very close to her and protects her. He’s the one who taught her everything she knows. Amane looks up to her father and prefers him to her mother.
- In rebellion to her mother, Amane, tattooed her Ka’s name, Death, into the inside of her left forearm.
- The knife is her favorite weapon and she enjoys getting into fights. She loves to use the knife on her victims and watch them bleed.
- She’s named after Ryou’s deceased sister.
Alright, now to discuss the picture itself. First, we’ll talk about the situation in the picture, and then the technicalities.
If you cannot read the words down the right side, this is what they say: I’m not amused, Jai. I’m never letting you pick my dress ever again >.< *vein pop*
If you haven’t figured it out yet, Jai has asked Amane out on a date. But not just any date. He’s asked her to prom! That’s why the background looks the way it does. It’s supposed to match the theme (whatever that is) of prom. It’s not like Amane doesn’t like the dress itself. It’s actually very flattering on her. What she is upset about is the fact that it’s pink. While that too looks flattering on her, it’s Amane’s least favorite color. She prefers red and black. Jai is probably off-screen just grinning at her.
The small amount of technicalities I can offer: Originally, I wanted her dress to be red, but I could find a combination of shades that would work and any attempts to mix and match colors made it look ridiculous, not to mention they wouldn’t be colors Amane would be willing to wear. So I went with pink, because pink and blondes kinda go together for some strange reason. To keep part of her personality in the outfit and pose, I allowed her tattoo to show and let her wear her typical arm bands. I improvised with her hair a little bit and added a couple things I’d never drawn in it before (although you haven’t seen any picture from Amane before, unless you’d seen my gallery a LONG time ago, I have drawn her before). This picture was actually drawn in May of ’09, so it’s actually rather old, but I decided I liked it and wanted to color it, so I did. I colored it last month.
I rather proud of this picture and very glad I decided to color it. I think I like this better than the picture of her wedding dress (which will be posted after this one) as far as Amane goes. I think it’s the hair. I like her hair better here. But you guys won’t understand that until I get to it, so I suppose I’ll stop ranting now.
Anyway, this particular picture is one I did not draw. We were bored at school one day and she wanted to draw so I lent her my sketchbook and voila, she drew Kel inside back in February of this year. Woo hoo. I decided to challenge myself to color it (even though I didn’t have permission, I just said I would, which means it’s a good thing Wulf-chan didn’t mind XP) because her style is complicated and with a sketch like that, it was going to be hard (not to mention I wanted to color my own OC since I hadn’t drawn a picture of her myself for quite some time (I may have recolored a few old pics of her, but the last time I’d actually DRAWN her was back in December of ’09)). I colored it last month.
I had fun coloring it, though I gave up for a couple months because at first it was a little too complicated for me. After having colored an additional 7 or so pictures, I decided it was time to try again. I finished the lineart, started on the coloring, finished shading and highlighting, then sat there and stared as I struggled to come up with a background. A few looks at some YuGiOh screenshots I had on hand gave me enough inspiration to get that background, though it’s not as accurate considering the screenshot I referenced was a headshot. Oh well.
Some new things concerning Kel—through Wulf-chan’s brilliant designing skills, I’ve lengthened Kel’s hair, figured out how I’d like her streaks to look (I was following Wulf-chan’s lines here, the finalization I’ve mentioned will be shown in a later picture), decided to keep her scars visible and show them on every picture of her I do, and darkened her skin. Other refining I did was done previously (the Crystal instead of Millennium Crystal, personality, her dagger, her magical ability, etc) and some of it is shown here.
Now, concerning events in the picture, it’s rather obvious Kel’s getting into a fight with magic users because she’s activated hers (hence the glow) and she has her dagger out. I don’t quite know the circumstances that Wulf-chan had in mind (I’m pretty sure she didn’t have any, actually), so I’m just making a guess based on what I know about my own character.
I hope you all like and I plead with you to comment. It makes me feel better to have comments.
This is Yugi, as a chibi, later . . . fangirling, if you will, over the fact that his sister is now engaged. He was drawn as an afterthought and Wulf-chan fell in love with it.
I like the almost-full-body Merpeople style. It makes for more modesty, which is nice. I think red suits Yugi, don’t you? His face came out longer than intended, but that’s okay. I started this picture from the expression, which is a feat for me.
I like it. No bashing, please.
In case you can read this either, Yugi’s saying, “‘Nee-chan’s getting’ MARRIED!”
Yay for art XP I’m too lazy to tell you anything else since no one cares.
Anyway, moving on. I dunno why I post anymore. Whatever.
This beautiful picture that I have created was done without a reference! Well, minus a screenshot for Yami’s horrid hair, the puzzle, and Yori’s bracelet. Alright, a couple small references, but the pose is my own! I like the way the coloring came out on this, though the bubbles could’ve been better. This is a resized version because the original is too large, so certain details (mainly the hair) have disappeared. That’s all I’m really going to say about the technicalities of this picture because I’m sick and tired AND I have a pounding headache, not to mention I’m slightly irritated right now. Though I will say that Kel’s been slightly redesigned again. Her hair has lengthened, her streaks are supposed to be thinner, and I darkened her skin color.
I’m not going to remind you who’s in this picture. You all should be smart enough to figure it out yourself. I will say that this is completely AU. OBVIOUSLY, these characters aren’t REALLY Merpeople, nor is it possible for Kel and Yori to exist in the same story, what with Yori and Yami being paired together AND Kel being Yami’s daughter.
In case you can’t READ, the dialogue goes as follows:
Yami: *clutching the ring, blushes slightly* Yori, there’s something I want to ask you.
Yori: *blushes* O-Okay. . . .
*from some distance away*
Yugi: YES!
Kel: WOOT!
Now let’s see, I’m pretty sure you can figure out what’s going on in this picture without me having to tell you. If not, you’re an idiot.
I now have an obsession with drawing Merpeople. Dunno why.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WULF-CHAN!! Dunno if you’ll see it here, but whatever. You’ve already told me how much you love this picture.
For all you weirdos who are out of the loop, this was for my BFFs birthday earlier this month. That’s right. The next picture I’ll post goes with it. I certainly hope you’d be able to figure it out based off its contents, but whatever.
I’m very proud of this picture, so no bashing please.
I’m not even going to ask for comments anymore. It’s not worth it. No one cares.
Second and last picture of the day. Woo hoo *totally unenthusiastic* To be honest with you, I totally have a ton more pictures, but I refuse to post them, so, in your face. Not that anyone cares.
This is one of my second generation pairings. Let us all hope you recognize the boy on the left. That would be my own Dhamen Bakura, son of Kel and Bakura. Yay. The girl on the right is someone I haven’t really introduced properly before. She’ll eventually have her own bio page when I’m in the mood to get one out. For now, you just get my little spill.
The girl in this picture is Keiko Moto (age 17, height 5'4"), daughter of Anzu and Yugi. She has Anzu’s hairstyle, but her colors come from Yugi, the blonde (though a little modified by me), the red, and the plum for her eyes. I don’t remember where her skin color came from. I think Keiko has Yugi’s while Sakishoota has Anzu’s. Yes, Keiko is Sakishoota’s twin sister. Her pairing (obviously) is with Dhamen and her best friend is Dhamen’s twin, Amane (whom you guys haven’t ever seen before). She has no singing or dancing ability, but she can act and wants to be a famous actress. She doesn’t like plays or musicals and would rather be in movies, but she’s talented enough to manage the lead in all the school plays despite her lack of musical ability. Like almost all of my second generation, she’s a fighter, but not as talented as some of my other SG OCs.
So that’s just a little information on my pretty Keiko. I like her even though I haven’t had much drawing nor writing experience with her. I hope to rectify that in the future.
I love FusionShipping and I definitely support it. I hope you all can too, at least a little bit. And for you anti-RevolutionShipping fans, this is nothing like it, I promise. I would rather I didn’t get comments about that. I’m not a fan of RevolutionShipping either, but I don’t hate it.
The background was me having fun with brushes. Again. That brown and gray thing is supposed to be a brick wall of some sort. I wanted a realistic background. I failed. I like it anyway. Except maybe the wall. I don't really like the wall. But I like the blue background. Yay me.
Note the reference in the reference box. Found it online somewhere. Lost the link forever ago.
Anyway, end of that. Please comment. I don’t care what you say, just comment please.
I have never drawn anything completely with my tablet before. I’d gone over scanned sketches before and altered certain things, but never done the sketch completely digital before. So this was new. Everything on it is 100% digital. Cool, huh?
I’m not completely satisfied with how it came out, to be honest. I think the hair, face, expression, and arm structure turned out alright, but I’m not happy with that hand, like, at all. It looks absolutely ridiculous and probably isn’t even anatomically correct. BLEH.
The background was an effect in photoshop. I don’t even remember where I found it off the top of my head and I’m too lazy to look.
Anyway, it’s my anime self again ‘cause I’m a little obsessed. I find myself easy to draw, I guess. Of course, you guys haven’t even seen HALF of the drawings I’ve done of myself. Yeah. I guess that is a little sad ^^0
Overall, I’m really proud of how this came out, except maybe folds on clothes, I’m working on that XP I’d say this was one of my better ones, yay me. I hope you all like and comment. Please.
Happy birthday, Cat-chan!! It’s a lot later than I would’ve liked, but I managed to get a birthday picture done for you!!!
Alright, let’s talk business here.
First off, I did the pose without a reference. I also did her hair without a ref ‘cause I’m used to drawing her. I DID have to use a reference for her clothes, but I’d never done them before. I think they turned out pretty well.
Second, I’m proud of the coloring, especially concerning the shading/highlighting process for her hair and eyes. It’s harder to tell with this version ‘cause it’s a resized version, but it’s still there.
Third, I used a grass brush on the background. I think I was having a little too much fun with that ^ ^0 That gray thing at the bottom is supposed to be a sidewalk. I think I failed at that, but I can’t deny that I tried. I think the perspective as far as the background is kinda messed up, but oh well.
The question mark off to the side of her head is meant to represent Cat’s confusion. She’s talking to Yami, hence the dialogue. She’s also got a blush on her face ‘cause Yami’s got something awesome planned. Now, I don’t think Cat’s birthday is actually the same time as her creator, but I did this piece with the idea in mind that Yami’s got a special gift for Cat. Yeah, just go with me on that one.
I had fun drawing and coloring this piece and I hope you like it, especially you, Cat-chan!! I hope it is to your satisfaction and I hope the way I draw and color Cat has improved. Again, happy birthday!! I hope it was a good one!!
I redid quite a few things here, concerning the lineart, anyway. I’ll list them for you: her facial structure, her eyebrows, her eyes, her nose, her mouth, her cheek, her chin, her bust, her torso, both shirt sleeves, her entire right hand, the card, the bottom of her shirt, her left hand, her pants, her socks, and the length of her hair. Like the picture of Cat, I didn’t have a digital copy of the original sketch.
Concerning coloring and such, I changed the color of her hair, the color of her eyes, the color of the staff, the color of her outfit, and the background completely. Yeah. I think the shading and lighting looks lots better on this one, and I think putting the strands and highlights in her hair the way I did turned out really nice. I dunno if I mentioned this in the chibi picture of Yori, but Wulf-chan changed bits and pieces of Yori, including her hair color, her hair length, and the fact that she has 1-2 inches of black roots. Yeah. Those are too hard to include for me. I’m not good enough for that. So I left those out. Also, I really like the effect on the shirt. That came out really cool looking and I think it fits her. Very nice, I have to say. Very nice indeed.
Something about the face is a little off to me. I dunno why.
Alright, the pants gets its own paragraph because there’s a big explanation that goes with it. I like the shade of blue I used and the way the shading and lighting came out. It looked really nice. Then to have extra fun, I played around with the filters in photoshop and decided to use my favorite: plastic wrap XD That’s what created the shiny effect on her pants. That made me happy. I came back later to get ready to post this and thought about what to call it. Thinking about her shiny pants inspired it! My current favorite boy band of all time just happens to be the Korean boy band, SHINee, and the title comes from their song, SHINee Girl. I got really excited and thought I should share that. Hint hint, go look SHINee up. They have GREAT music.
So yeah, thought I’d share all that awesome stuff with you. I hope you love this picture as much as I do, and I pray you’ll give me the lovely-ness that is called comments. Please? They make me feel good, they really do.
I pulled the original up in photoshop (since I don’t have a digital copy of the sketch) and fixed the following: Her facial structure, her eyebrows, her eyes, her nose, her mouth, her chin, her cheek, parts of her bangs on the one side, the hood, her top, the left arm (though it’s longer than the right arm, which makes me mad), added her gloves, her skirt, and her legs just a little bit. That was all in the lineart. The coloring on her boots, top, and skirt are different. The shading and lighting is much better. I put strands and proper highlights in Cat’s hair. I also shortened her hair just a little bit because I had it a little too long before. Yeah, fixed a lot of things.
I also changed the background quite a bit the second time around. Wulf-chan and I decided green goes well with her, so I showered the background with it. I played with the patterns and coloring effects in photoshop to create what you see before you. I think it came out really nice. I really like it.
This totally proves that I really need to draw Cat again. I miss drawing her. And she’s just so dang cute!
If you get a chance to see this, Cat-chan, I hope you like it! And I hope my art style has improved, especially where Cat is concerned!
Thank you all for viewing. Hopefully you’ll all leave me pretty comments that make me feel good. If not, you all suck.
This is a continuation of yesterday’s posts. It’s the combined picture instead. Yay. Please see the original here for important information from before: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-789937.html
Alright, so I don’t really want to talk about all the stuff featured in the previous picture. Just go look at it. And see the last three pictures about stuff concerning the people in the picture. Whatever. Just go view them and read the comment boxes. It’s good to do that.
So anyway, the thing I really wanted to talk about here was the background. All you can see is sky. That’s because realistic backgrounds are really hard for me. Deal with it. The most important part of the background is what you see at the top. Those are cloud brushes. There’s no way I could do that by myself, heck no. Nope. Downloaded the brushes on DA. Give me a minute and I’ll find the link: http://javierzhx.deviantart.com/gallery/#/dkep1o
Other than that, I didn’t really have much to say here. Except maybe a rant. . . . Nah. I’ll save it for later. Just know that lack of comments has severely irritated me.
In this redone picture, you can see that I have made Jai’s hair more logical. That might only make sense to me, but that’s okay. I’ve also colored the strands properly so they go the correct direction and all that stuff. You can actually tell his hair has highlights now too. HIS PUPILS HAVE APPEARED! That’s always a good thing. His face has been fixed so it doesn’t look too wide and flat. And his eyes are smaller. The coloring of his shirt looks much better now, in my opinion anyway, and while Dhamen STILL pulls that look off better, Jai doesn’t do too bad in it. There’s a nice background too that makes his shirt blend in a little bit, but that’s okay. HIS dog tag has something on it now too. I’ll discuss that in a minute.
Like Dhamen and Sakishoota’s pictures, everything I fixed as far as the lineart goes was done completely digitally. Again, I did it on my tablet. Again, I wish I could draw digitally. That would be a miracle.
As for Jai’s dog tag, I went with the Japanese form of dog, which is “inu.” Just a note, I used jisho.org again (that’s like, my FAVORITE Japanese site EVER). Although the symbol here was easier than Sakishoota’s, it was still fairly difficult to do and was not pleasant.
To be honest with you, I don’t know why I went with dog and underdog stuff with Jai. He’s not like Joey and doesn’t have that problem. Maybe he just loves his dad that much and wants to carry a piece of him around. I dunno. Don’t ask me.
And voila, we have Jai! He’s 17 years old, 5’8”, has a birthday sometime in September and has a girlfriend who . . . yeah, don’t like her much, but that’s okay. Regardless, he’s TAKEN and is not open to accepting anyone else.
Oh yeah, before I forget, better talk about the picture’s title. Um, I have a set of dialogue that goes with the combined picture. It’s in the previous SG Trio picture. That’s not the exact dialogue from it, but it’s close enough. And it made me laugh.
Comments? Please? Pretty please? Anything? Maybe? Or not XP
In this redone picture, you can see that I gave his hair more life, it actually has proper strands in the coloring instead of that THING from the last one, and the highlights look much better. You can see his pupils now and tell that he has wide eyes instead of whatever I was doing in the previous version *facepalms at self* I fixed his shirt so the sleeves come down to relatively the same place instead of the HUGE difference from before. I also fixed his arm bands so they go in the correct place and are relatively the same size. Sakishoota also happens to be a BALLROOM DANCER which means he DOES A LOT OF LIFTS which requires him to have UBER MUSCLED ARMS, so I finally put those in *smacks self for idiocy* His shirt looks better, but I think Dhamen pulls that look off a little better. There’s also a nice background. And look! His dog tag actually has something on it! Oh! How important!! *slams self into wall* I’ll talk about that in a minute. AND LOOK!! HE HAS A BLUSH!! I can’t do drool, so a blush was the next best thing. That I can do.
Like for Dhamen, everything I fixed on this picture as far as the lineart goes was done completely digitally. Again, I did it on my tablet. Again, I wish I could draw digitally.
Alright, here’s a little tidbit for his dog tag. I needed to put something there that fit him. So I thought about his personality. He’s a big friends person, influenced from his mother. So I looked up different versions of the word “friend” in Japanese. This particular form of the word is “yuujin.” I can’t tell you how hard it was to get the symbol right. I still think it looks off. I used jisho.org to find it, by the way, in case you’re interested at all.
So yeah, there we go. Sakishoota is 17 years old, 5’6”, and is absolutely fascinated with Atina, so you can’t have him, fangirls.
Oh yeah, before I forget, better talk about the picture’s title. Um, I have a set of dialogue that goes with the combined picture. It’s in the previous SG Trio picture. That’s not the exact dialogue from it, but it’s close enough. And it made me laugh.
For whatever reason that possesses me to do this, I have returned once again with more pictures. Two days’ worth! So this won’t be the first set of three you’ll see from me.
Guess what? I’m in a redo-all-my-old-pictures-until-my-hands-fall-off mood, so you get a bunch of redone pictures.
This pose might be at least somewhat familiar. Good. That’s because I used this picture in my SG Trio picture. Yeah. Decided to show off all my boys individually before posting their combined picture again.
. . . I still want to draw in a sweatdrop just ‘cause I think it’d be funny, but I still haven’t. So tempted, so tempted. . . .
In this redone picture, you can see that I made his hair look more full, it actually has proper strands in the coloring instead of that blob from the last one, and the highlights look much better. You can see his pupils now too. They look so much nicer. Fixed his nose too. That weird thing from the previous picture was so stupid. Fixed his neck and arm bands so they fit properly and are in the correct places. I gave him his muscled arms too, ‘cause he has those. Don’t know why I left them out on the previous version. I like the coloring on his shirt better now too. And look! A normal background! Isn’t it nice?
Everything I fixed on this picture as far as the lineart goes was done completely digitally. I did it on my tablet. Be proud of me. Maybe I’ll eventually start DRAWING on my tablet. We’ll see.
So yeah, there’s my awesome Dhamen, age 17, 5’7” in height, and 100% taken. *sighs in contentment* So adorable. Keiko’s such a lucky little girl. Kel better be a proud momma too.
Oh yeah, before I forget, better talk about the picture’s title. Um, I have a set of dialogue that goes with the combined picture. It’s in the previous SG Trio picture. That’s not the exact dialogue from it, but it’s close enough. And it made me laugh.
I’m going to do character stuff first and technical stuff afterward for this picture.
This is definitely someone you won’t recognize, but the name will be familiar (I currently have 9 pictures of her in my gallery, not including this one). This is Yori Moto! She doesn’t really look like her normal self, does she? Nope. That’s because she went under a design revamp. Her hair is shorter, her hair and bangs are red, and her eyes are a soft violet/plum color. So yeah. I needed a new picture of her because the old one wasn’t really working anymore.
There isn’t much Yori art there and it hasn’t been updated in forever, but her art is amazing and needs some FAC love.
I really like the background, the hair, the eye, and the outfit’s color scheme on this one. Those parts make me feel good. They turned out very nicely.
The entire face was done digitally because the original picture looked like absolute crap. It all needed to be fixed. Even though it’s a chibi, there are anatomical problems with it. Ignore those. I could only fix so much—I don’t have the skill to do EVERYTHING yet.
Anyway, I suppose I should get on to the describing of the picture for you. This picture was drawn back in October of 2009. I colored it once, posted it, colored it again, kept it to myself, deleted it from my FAC account, and now it’s back with a new colored version. Because it’s so old (well, not THAT old, but still old), the anatomy has a couple problems. I fixed what I could digitally. It’s not the BEST, but it’ll do.
My four favorite parts of the picture are as follows:
The hair – it came out really nicely on both of them, especially Kiara. For that, I am proud.
The eyes – I like my coloring style for it. It works really well for me right now.
The hands – The visible ones, yes. Not the coloring. No, I don’t care about the coloring. I think the way the hands were drawn came out really nice.
The background – It was uber fun to do and I absolutely adore it, so leave me alone about it. It makes me feel good.
Alright, now about the characters themselves and a couple technical points concerning them both.
First off, let me introduce a character probably none of you have ever seen before, though if you’ve been reading bios like you should, you’ll remember her name. The red-haired girl on the left, Kiara Jensen! She’s my Seto Kaiba pairing character from California. Her favorite card is Red Eyes Black Dragon, her Ka is Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, and her hair is red. Did I mention she likes the color red? Anyway, I need to explain something here. If you look close enough, Kiara highly resembles Kisara. There’s a reason for that. When she was first designed, she was supposed to be Kisara’s reincarnation (I know, funny how that works, right?). I have matured since then (because we all know Kisara became the Blue Eyes White Dragon) and decided Kiara is a descendant of a close relative of Kisara’s, hence the hair similarity. I almost changed her name so it wasn’t one letter off from Kisara’s, but decided not to in the end. I like Kiara. By the way, her older sister, Kiona, shares Kisara’s hairstyle as well, though her hair is black. But that’s beside the point. When I do a picture of Kiara in the future, I’ll offer a bigger bio. For now, this is what you have to work with.
On the right, we have Kel! You all should recognize her by now. I have a technical point concerning her. Most of you probably have not gone back to read her revamped bio. That’s okay. I’ll offer this point here. Originally, the crystal around her neck was entitled the Millennium Crystal. It didn’t fit the Millennium Item’s criteria at all. It didn’t even make sense. So to avoid Mary-Sue-ness, I changed it to the Crystal and it now features a lotus flower. It has some magical abilities that I don’t remember off the top of my head and I’m too lazy to look them up.
Kiara and Kel are best friends. I luvers them to death ^ ^
So there you go. They’re my precious YGO OCs. Please be nice to them.
As a side note, I did use a base from DA as a reference, but it was so long ago, I no longer have the link. I will attempt to look it up and get that for you in case you want it. And so I can have a proper reference copyright.
Please leave me comments. Please? It would make me feel lots better if I know people out there care.
I don’t feel like explaining all that again. But ignore the reference part. That base can be found in a link found by following the first link in this comment box.
Basically here we have my anime self, Ray Ray, on the left, and my main YGO OC, Kel, on the right. I drew and colored this picture in December of 2009, redid the coloring in February 2010, and redid the coloring again this month. I have a problem with recoloring all my pictures. I dunno why.
You might want to just because I’ve revamped her just a titch (you might not notice too many changes, but they’re there).
Despite all else, I actually really like the way the coloring came out. Compared to the original drawing, I fixed a couple things when I did the lineart in photoshop (eyes, my hair, Kel’s hair, Kel’s mouth, shape of Kel’s head, etc). I’m really proud of it. Please ignore the fact that the file is actually pretty big. I hope FAC accepts it XP
Well, I’ve been having fun with some old pictures the past little bit. I come to bring you awesomeness made by the ultimate awesomeness—me. Just kidding, there’s no way I’m THAT conceited. Anyway, just thought I’d share a couple more pictures with you.
I drew and colored this a year ago this month (the blessed month of December). I never posted it here on FAC, but nonetheless, the drawing is a little old. I don’t like the original colored version, so I decided I wanted to redo it.
First, we’ll talk about the technicalities of the picture. I’ve been playing around with layers and styles and other things like that in photoshop. The background is one of my experiments (using a pattern with the bucket, overlay with the gradient, etc). I’m not necessarily sure it suits the two of us, but I like it anyway. I’m still learning how to properly shade and highlight as well as clothes in general (clothes are strange entities that are very difficult to color XP), but I think I’ve improved over the years. Purple is my favorite color, so that’s why I’m wearing it and I think blue looks really good on my best friend, so that’s why she’s in it. Please notice that this picture is a year old, so that anatomy isn’t the best. Also, I used a base as a reference for the actual, but I’ve lost the link. If I find it, I’ll put it in here.
(Hehe, the hair gets its own paragraph XD) I’ve been experimenting with different ways to shade and highlight the hair. Instead of trying for an anime style, I went with a more realistic style. I’ve become rather attached to it and it’s one of my favorite styles that I happen to use. It’s my favorite part of MY style too. Please do not bash it. I’m working on finding an eye-coloring style that I like. So far, this one works for me (Ignore the fact that I hate black pupils. I have too much fun not drawing those in XD).
Anyway, now I’ll finally talk about the people who see in this picture. I’m sure you recognize my anime self on the left, or at least I hope you do (from the two pictures I’ve posted of me already XP). The person on the right is my bestest best friend in the entire world, YoriXYamiForever!! I’m sure you can see the names next to us, or at least, I hope you do. I am Lego, full nickname is Legolas Greenleaf. My best friend is Ghost Wulf, or just Wulf. I adore her to death XD Just thought I’d share with you our awesome friendship.
I think that about covers it. . . . I don’t think there’s anything else XP I hope not.
Anyway, please leave me comments. I need the love. Also, if you have any drawing or coloring tips or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to drop those off with me. They make me feel good.
As much as I love the info from the original picture, not all of it applies here. For starters, I changed the background and removed her blush.
Alright, well, I’ve changed my shading/highlighting, eyes, and hair styles quite a bit. I’ve also been experimenting with brushes and different backgrounds, and layer stuff, and all that jazz. I’m hoping to eventually make things more accurate and such and have actual backgrounds, but that’s not happening yet.
I think I like this version better than the last one. Please, compare the two and tell me your thoughts. It’ll make me feel better, especially since I’ve improved since the original. I’m only planning on getting better too. Let’s hope I make it.
The only other thing I can currently say is that I hope you all recognize who this is now. If not, go find her bio somewhere in my miniature gallery . . . or I’ll just post a link here: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-789935.html
Now, um, please, give me comments. I like comments; they make me feel good. Please?
I’ll offer some mini copyright stuff, but see the original picture for all other details.
Regardless, I’ll chance posting some more, especially since I’m really proud of this pic and the next one I’ll post in a minute.
Well, to start off, most of you probably won’t recognize her at all. I’ve drawn her four times. The first three were in February of 2008. The fourth time was in November of 2008. This is the most recent version of her and lots better than the original pictures.
Now, before I go on to talk about her, there are some technical things I need to approach. Number 1, I used the following reference: http://amuchii-bases.deviantart.com/gallery/25487700#/d2nv2b1
I would’ve used the original picture, but it was too small to see, so the base it was. Number 2, I can’t draw nor shade nor highlight feathers or fur, so I apologize for the fur on the edges of her clothes and bands, and the feathers on her wings and tail. I fail at them XP Number 3, I used the following tutorial on DA to get the fire right: http://windancer53.deviantart.com/#/der2ew
It was very helpful and I’m grateful to have had it.
Alright, now onto some technical stuff about this character. First off, this character is an OC for Tokyo Mew Mew. Second, her name is Orenji Ringo, which is Orange Apple in Japanese. If anyone knows anything about TMM, they know all the important characters are named after food. I chose to call her Orenji mainly because orange was a color I could work with that didn’t match a color one of the five mews already had. As for the reason for choosing a phoenix for her animal, at the time, I was obsessed with phoenixes (still am). I just can’t bring myself to change it. As for how Shirogane got hold of phoenix DNA, well, if aliens exist, why can’t phoenixes? Maybe they’re super rare and everyone thinks they’re legends. I don’t know, I just know that I really like her the way she is, so although it’s a Mary-Sue quality, I’m not changing it. The last thing for this will be the discussion of her pants. They are shorts with the right side longer than the left. Why? I don’t know XP Just because.
Just so you all know, although I’m not happy with the fur and feathers, I am proud of the eyes and hair and her skin doesn’t look too bad. I think my coloring is steadily improving. I’m VERY proud of this picture, minus the mini drawing mistakes that bug me.
Alright, now I’ll put up a mini bio so you know about her. And just as a warning, anyone who protests to her love interest will be immediately shot down then ignored. The top two reasons I create OCs are to either 1) mess up the canon storyline because I’m not happy with it (pretty much my YGO and HP OCs), or 2) because I want to pair a character with either my favorite character or one of my favorite characters (it’s better to just keep my self-pairing RPs in my head XP).
Just a note before I begin, I’ve put Orenji in high school because I don’t like romance in middle school or junior high. That’s just weird to me and I don’t like it. So yeah.
Name: Orenji Ringo
Age: 15
Height: 5'4"
Race: Japanese
Family: Nikushimi is her mother, Enkatsu (male) and Senritsu (female) are her 8-year-old twin siblings, and she has an unnamed father. Her parents are divorced and Nikushimi is almost never home. Their maid, Kirei Yang, raised both Orenji and helps Orenji in the act of raising her siblings. Her mother is really strict and slightly abusive. Orenji hates her mother. She doesn’t know of any other family members.
Love Interest: Kishu, UraharaShipping (I know this one has been used before, but I didn’t know that at the time, so I’m keeping it).
Mew Form: Animal is phoenix, has phoenix wings and tail, mew mark is a small, pale orange phoenix on the front of her left shoulder, weapons are called Orenji Staffs (two foot-long staffs topped with hearts), first attack is Ribbon Orenji Flame, second attack is Ribbon Orenji Sun, and has a third attack that she can only use when an emotion is very passionate called Ribbon Orenji Nova (only one recorded use).
Short Background:
- When she’s in human form, her eyes are light brown and her hair is strawberry blonde.
- Despite being fused with a phoenix, she’s deathly afraid of heights. She’d rather swim, which she’s actually good at.
- She didn’t like Kishu at first, but due to the awesome storyline I put together that I’m not sharing with you, they eventually fall for each other.
- She attends the same school as Lettuce and they are best friends.
- She likes kids and can’t wait to be a mother. She hopes she’ll be tons better than her own. To be able to own a day care is her dream.
- She doesn’t get along well with teens her age and doesn’t make friends easily.
- She can’t explain why, but she never really liked Ichigo to begin with and slowly grows to hate her, especially with Ichigo’s passionate hatred of Kishu, whom Orenji falls for.
- Before becoming a Mew and working at Café Mew Mew, she worked at the Seaweed Café because her mother wanted her to learn to fend for herself, though her mother doesn’t want Orenji to have friends. Her mother keeps her isolated from others, even in school.
- Kishu actually kidnaps her at one point in the beginnings of their relationship.
- She uses her third and nearly impossible attack in the Christmas arc of TMM. The explosion causes her to fall into a coma for a short period of time.
- If you know anything about phoenixes, you know that their tears have healing powers. Whenever Orenji is in Mew form and feels passionate sorrow, orange-glowing tears that contain healing powers fall from her eyes.
Well, that’s all I can think of to share for the time being. You’re welcome to ask questions ‘cause I have almost her entire storyline measured out. I love rereading it for some reason. Anyway, if you have questions, ask away. I hope she’s not too Mary-Sue and I hope you all like her!
Before I end, I’d like to say that the Halloween picture I mentioned in the last picture I posted isn’t going to happen. Instead, I’m going to draw my FusionShipping pairing (Dhamen and Keiko for those of you who don’t remember). And I don’t think I’ll get a Christmas pic this year (not that I ever have, but I thought I’d point that out).
Granted this one isn't the best of my new images, but it's decent.
If you wanna see more of my artwork, here's my DA gallery

Here’s my second picture of the night. Don’t expect another one to show up until I get that Halloween picture done ‘cause I’m really busy XP
Anyway, I did this sometime earlier this month . . . over General Conference weekend. Because of that, this might get a little bit religious on you. Sorry, my bad. I’ll just be honest.
I don’t know how you guys feel about it, but I like to draw myself in an anime style. I dunno why, I just like to. So this is my anime self according to what my hairstyle is SUPPOSED to resemble. I need to get it cut again. Anyway, moving on. This is how I view myself, or would like to view myself. I’ll tell you honestly now that I’m probably shorter and skinnier than that and my hair probably doesn’t look as cool as that awesomeness you see before you. I also wear glasses, but I don’t like to draw them on. It bothers me for some reason.
Anyway, when I RP with random ideas, I use my anime self. Now, though she resembles me, we’re not quite the same. Some of her qualities are what I would be like if I was just a titch better. Rather than giving her my name, I’ve given her my penname, Ray Ray Leowis, which is what I’ll stick with.
Anyway, I’m slowly getting off topic. This particular picture has a couple meanings. First off, the fandoms I’ve been RPing with lately (mainly DGM and FMA:B) take place in an older world where those types of elements exist. I decided I’d try to draw my anime self in a princess/ancient style dress/gown. I colored it purple because it’s my favorite color and I have a slight obsession with it. The second meaning comes from the title and the princess air. In my religion, the LDS one or Mormons for you who don’t recognize that, we believe that all females are daughters of God, which makes us princesses. So, even though I don’t look it, I truly am a princess inside, hence The Princess Within. Yeah. That was a little religious. Forgive me if I’ve offended you.
Also, if you’d care to notice, Ray Ray’s blushing. Gee, I wonder why. Well, I’m a hopeless romantic . . . I’m sure your imagination can take care of the rest. As for the background, I have a flower pattern that I just added a neon glow to. I like the effect.
Anyway, done ranting now. Be nice to me. My favorite part of the whole picture is the hair. I think it came out quite nice. I will learn to draw and color it better in the future, but for now, that’ll suffice. At the same time, I’m really proud of the legs and shoes ‘cause I kinda suck at those.
Yeah, now I’m done. I hope you all like. Comments? Anyone?
. . . Hope I didn't forget anything. . . .]]>G-SOT-C (collab with YoriXYamiForever) by KelekiahGaladrianurn:uuid:722728cc-5eef-3739-b6a8-8f79f09ba5102010-10-25T20:15:02-07:00Hey everyone. Sorry I've been gone so long. School's just been outright busy and I haven't had time lately.
Just a prenote for you all, I'm planning on doing a Halloween picture and I have a couple other pictures planned, but I dunno when I'll get to them. Anyway, moving on.
About a year ago in June of '09 (okay, over a year ago XP), I asked my best friend Wulf-chan (YoriXYamiForever) if she would draw my skaters (I'll get to that in a minute) and lent her my sketchpad with references and everything. She finally got it back to me a month ago with a plea for me to color it. Well, there you go. This is the finished product.
So, to avoid confusion, these are my characters and coloring, but Wulf-chan drew it.
Now, as for the characters in the picture . . .
From left to right: Zip, Crash, Snap, Arryeana. They’re a skater gang that goes by the name of G-SOT-C, which stands for Gothic Skaters of the Century. They view each other as a family since each of them has a problem with their own. They get by because of the money they win at tournaments—they’re the best skater gang in Japan and have won the few international tournaments they’ve been invited to.
And now for some personal information:
Snap is the oldest at almost 18 (he's 5'11"). His real name is Anthony but, due to unwanted circumstances, he changed his name to Snap. His parents were going through a divorce and spent most of the custody trial fighting over who would get Snap, whom neither of them wanted. They fought so much, the trial had to be postponed a day and that night, Snap ran away from home. He ran into Crash, who had already found Zip. He’s the one who found Arryeana and introduced her to their group. He likes to laugh and tell jokes, though they’re often very lame. He believes in romance and can’t wait to experience it for himself, though, right now, his family means more to him than any girl ever could, until Arryeana meets Neko because he starts to fall for Neko’s younger sister, Kia. Out of the entire skater gang, he trusts Arryeana to Neko the most and is more willing to leave her alone with him than the others. Of the four of them, Snap and Arryeana are the closest. He doesn’t like to revert to violence, but will if he has to. He favors action movies with romance mixed in. The brown in his hair is dyed. He doesn't like to go around without his headband.
Crash is the second oldest at 17 (he's 5'9") and the technical leader and founder of the gang. Named after his father, he discarded his original name, Jonathan, after his parents’ death because of the painful memories it caused. He was close to his mother, who called him Johnny, but neither of them liked his abusive father. One night, his father succeeded in killing his mother and, in revenge, Crash killed his father. To escape all mention of his past, he gave himself the name of Crash, since that is what happened to his life, and moved to Japan, where he ran into Zip. He’s more protective of his family, especially Arryeana, than anyone else in his skater gang and takes on the leadership position as often as possible. He believes in overcoming the past in a greater future and hopes to be able to forget what he has done in the past. He strongly believes in justice, especially toward criminals. He’s the most likely to revert to violence of any kind. The blue in his hair is dyed.
Zip, the youngest male member at 16 (he's 5'6"), suffered in an accident where he lost his memory and his parents (they died upon impact). He also received an injury he hides behind his wall of green hair—the fire from the accident burned the entire left side of his face. After leaving the hospital, he ran into Crash, who asked him if he liked to skate. Zip attached to Crash quickly because of their acceptance of each other. He’s very quiet and doesn’t like to talk, if he talks at all. His gaze is very piercing and he can usually get his point across without having to speak, either through his eyes or through the assortment of knives he carries around with him. He’s the brute force behind the skater gang and keeps the jealous rival skater gangs away. He’s talented in the sense that he creates his own combinations and moves and only second next to Arryeana. He hopes to one day regain his memory. The green in his hair is dyed and he's never seen without that cap on, or something similar to it.
Arryeana, the youngest member of the skater gang (she's 5'5"), is the daughter of Katrina Wheeler. Katrina divorced her husband when Arryeana was a young child. He later died in a car accident. Katrina is Joey’s father’s sister, hence the Wheeler connection. That makes Joey and Arryeana cousins. Katrina dropped her husband’s name after the divorce and had Arryeana’s birth certificate changed to fit her maiden name. Katrina is a drunk and abusive mother who forced Arryeana to drop out of second grade to “work.” At her age, Arryeana couldn’t do much, so she worked around the neighborhood. Her neighbors did what they could to help her. She often joined mini back-alley skating tournaments and fell in love with the craft. Her skating eventually got her national title even before she ran away from home at the age of 15. She ran into Snap and, after joining the skater gang, dyed her hair tips hot pink. Being in the skater gang earned her a greater title, which made her quite famous. It made it rather difficult to keep running from her mother, but she somehow managed it. From the moment Katrina pulled her out of second grade until she ran away, Arryeana made it a habit to slit her wrists. She now has two white scars on her inner wrists, one on each. Her symbol is a broken heart. Out of everyone in the skater gang, Snap is the only one who can get Arryeana to smile until she meets Neko. She later dyes her black hair bright blonde, though she keeps the dyed tips.
Alright, I think that’s enough. Now for the character background from a creator’s POV: Out of all these characters, Arryeana came first because I was doodling one day and fell in love with the hairstyle I gave her, so she was born. Then I had to create a “family” for her, which is where the other three come from. They are another set of second generation characters, but not for GX. Because Arryeana is paired with Wulf-chan’s OC Yori’s son Neko, I’ve given them to her to play with, even though they’re still mine. Yeah.
Anyway, before I get too far off, let me talk about the rest of the picture. I like the way I did the words and colors of the words. That just makes me happy. I also like the base color for the background. I think it fits the four of them well. I’m also very satisfied with the color schemes of their outfits. The designs are courtesy of Wulf-chan. Ne ne, I love them too. They fit the characters so well ^^ Anyway, the background, the background. I like having photoshop. The brushes are tons of fun to play with, which is why that looks the way it does.
Yeah, ‘kay, I think I’m done ranting about those now. Sorry, I just get so excited about this picture, even though I didn’t draw it. It’s my best yet. If you guys have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m all for answering them, as long as I know what the answers are.
On that note, I hope I put Maria L'Anette (who is an absolutely beautiful character) in the right category. If not, let me know and I'll change it.
So, sissy-chan, I was wondering if I can call you Cassi instead of Maria. Is that okay?
Also, sissy-chan, I must apologize that this picture only features Maria. I was TERRIFIED that I'd screw up Kau, so I chose to leave him out >< I'm horrible, forgive me.
I hope you like it. I had fun drawing it and my best friend told me the sketch was really cute.
Anyway, moving on, I attempted to follow one of your old (dunno if you still use it, it's fairly old) eye coloring styles 'cause I thought it would look better on her than my style would. I also copied the eye style from the reference as best I could.
I really hope you like it and I hope it makes your day just a little bit better. I love you, sissy-chan!
Anyway, I’m posting this for two reasons. 1) Because I can. 2) Because I told lashanta22 I would let her see my version of the same ref. Interesting, eh?
Anyway, just a thought, I think his hair looks WEIRD and WAY TOO POOFY. The coloring helps in that icky-ness a little, but not by much, in my opinion anyway.
Drawing, I like the way the glove came out. *cricket chirp* That’s it XP Well, the automail came out okay. . . .
Coloring, I like the way his hair, eyes, and the automail came out, though his skin and the glove look alright.
In all honesty, I was very angry with the stupidness that is metal, more particularly with the AUTOMAIL. . . . I HATE automail with a PASSION. Stupid nasty junk. I have to admit, the coloring makes it look TONS better and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. And Wulf-chan likes it, so it’s okay.
I’m rather proud of this pic, despite all complaints against it.
*does a dance* First time drawing Ed too. Booyah. Bask in my awesomeness.
Comments? Please? If you won’t comment on my OC stuff, at least comment on my canon stuff. PLEASE.
Parvani actually wears tennis, but I didn’t know how to duplicate them, so I just drew Misty’s shoes with a color improvisation.
The background represents each main body color (for the most part) of her entire Pokémon team. I was having fun with that.
Here’s her bio since I don’t think I have anything else to say. . . .:
Name: Parvani Ohara
Age: 13 – 16 (I don’t like the idea of starting a journey when you’re 10, 11, or 12, so I upped the ages a bit)
Height: 5'0" - 5'4"
Hometown: Pallet Town
Family: Her mother, Jazhira Ohara, has been friends with Ash’s mom since their teenage years. Parvani’s father passed away when she was five or six and Jazhira refuses to talk about it, but she kept her maiden name for her and Parvani’s last name.
Love Interest: Ash Ketchum, ChallengeShipping
Items: A baby blue Pokédex
Pokémon Team: Vaporeon (female), Umbreon (male), Espeon (female), Flareon (female), Jolteon (male), Glaceon (female), and Leafeon (male).
Short Background:
- Ash and Misty are her best friends, though she grows to like May a lot.
- She spends a lot of time training and does her best in every battle because battling is her favorite thing to do. She recovers fast when she loses battles, though she tries to make her losses as few as possible. At the same time, she knows she’s good at battling and doesn’t often lose if she can help it, so she can be a bit arrogant.
- She never backs down from a challenge, which can get her into trouble at times.
- She dreams to be an Aspiring champion.
- Around the age of 15, she does become an Aspiring champion and creates a special, five-member battle group called the Elite Pokémon Trainers (EPT for short). She, Ash, Gary, Misty, and the Blaziken dude whose name I CAN’T REMEMBER FOR THE LIFE OF ME are the members. Because she created it, she leads it.
- She specializes in Eevee evolutions.
- She got her starter Pokémon when she was 12 but didn’t leave home until the age of 13. Her starter Pokémon, Eevee, evolved to a Vaporeon shortly after she began her journey when she captured her first Pokémon, a Flareon.
- Shortly before she and Ash headed off to the Hoenn league, Parvani happened upon a baby Larvitar (female) whose parents had passed away. She immediately chose to raise Larvitar herself. Larvitar immediately attached to Parvani but was suspicious of Ash for a time.
- When Parvani was about 14, she and her group found a legendary Pokémon (my own legendary, I created her myself) no one had neither seen nor heard of before. This legendary, Atherion, had a small baby with her. Atherion has the ability to use mind speak to communicate with humans, though her main abilities are associated with dark types. Atherion chose Parvani to be her protector and chose to travel with her and Ash despite the legendary’s large size.
Well, that’s it for Parvani. I hope you all like her ^^
If anyone knows the Blaziken guy’s (from the Jhoto/Johto, I dunno how to spell it, league) name, let me know ‘cause I can’t remember it XP
P.S. Don't expect to see anymore pictures from me for a while.
Please ignore the fact that I resized it BIG TIME. I honestly can’t remember why, but I did. So yeah, my version’s tons smaller.
Anyway, I had fun coloring it. The background was originally pink and purple flowers, but Wulf-chan and I discovered that this made Clopin disappear, so I changed it to green at Wulf-chan’s request. I like it lots. I must admit, Clopin’s skin is REALLY dark. Oh well, I hope you all like it anyway.
Please, if you’re going to comment here, please comment on the original. Half the credit (though I’d give her more than that) goes to Wulf-chan for the awesome lineart. I just colored it and gave it a background. So please, go comment on it and tell her how wonderful it is.
The original picture is where you’ll find all the technical copyright stuff. I’ll only put a couple here.
