I think Nintendo got a little too gimmick happy with the WiiU, though I do think it's a fundamentally good console. Microsoft made too many of the mistakes Sony made with the PS3, although you made a good point about their attempts to innovate.

I would have walked out, said something to the manager, and that would have been that. But yeah, they wanted me to call the game wrong on purpose. As far as breaking up fights goes, that was my standard move XD Other moves included headlocks, grabbing the face cage, etc- all stuff you really aren't supposed to do. But I was alone, so I had to do something...Still gives me a chuckle, I admit XD

I think you're right, on both counts. I think that this particular version of Robotnik/Eggman is more sinister than the other incarnations. He's basically a joke villain lately...

The upside is that I wound up with a TV I really like, so it was a semi-blessing.  Good point about Sony, too. I've gotten more impressed with them, actually- it seems like they actually have bothered to learn their craft. They didn't make any of the mistakes that Microsoft and Nintendo made this generation, and they didn't price themselves out of the market like they did with the PS3.

Wow, that really is dumb. If I'm the customer waiting an hour for six balloons, I'm ticked off and going to the drug store instead. Huh. I was once semi-fired because I refused to referee hockey the "wrong way". I always called penalties and enforced the rules; the players hated that and complained to the staff because the other refs were so lax. Thing is, there were less fights and injuries during the games I refereed. (I will admit, I was creative when I broke up fights. You ever see refs jump on top of a pile in a hockey game? I jumped as high as I could and came down elbow-first, lol)

You're okay; I ask because I want to make sure we're at the same place in the time line. That's a detail I think we should definitely agree on.

Yep, it just killed it. These pixilated lines running vertically eventually took up roughly 1/3 of the screen. Apparently the Wii does that, but I think LED tv's do okay. It's just the plasmas that get eaten alive -_-' I don't know...I think, within two console generations, Microsoft will be gone- they're a company that just happens to make games sometimes; not a game company. They won't lose money on consoles that they won't ever make back imho. Sony is in the same position, but they had more success. Plus, if I'm Microsoft, I would work on PC gaming, since that's my backyard, and there would be little in the way of R&D costs.

I miss the days of companies that took people in at age 18, and then kept them until 62 -_-' I was born in the wrong generation!

Well, I just interviewed for a job at Best Buy, and it had THE worst job description I've ever seen. When I started reading it, I thought "Okay, I'm counting boxes". Midway through, I thought "Oh, I'm unloading trucks". Then they mentioned "Asset protection", which is security, so I assumed I was warehouse security. I geared up my interview skills and was ready to focus on my security background...only to learn that "No, unload trucks and clean bathrooms". ...I don't think I'll get a call back, but there's no way I'll take the job. Seemed like a disorganized clustercrap of a place as it was (on top of being way overpriced on a lot of items!)

So, on the subject of your fic, I wanted to ask- is our enemy "Robotnik" (the original, issues 0-50?), or "Eggman" (50-1something)? Just so I get the timeframe straight. 

My only mark against the Wii is that I'm fairly sure it destroyed my last TV. Apparently it doesn't play well with plasma TV's. But you're right. The manufacturing isn't there, and it's no accident. That's why I would LOVE to see Sega step back into the console industry. Microsoft is weak right now...if Sega got Valve to make Left 4 Dead for them, and partnered with Capcom...I think they'd take Microsoft out.

I guess it depends where it is I want to be management. If it's a company I'll have a career with, then I don't mind the extra work. If I'm going to be leaving, though...not sure I want to invest the time that way.

That's fair XD It's definitely a neat concept to be working with from my perspective!

Maybe we should start Shadow out without being affiliated with GUN. Flesh out what his personality and relationships will be like within the world we're creating. Then, later on, he can join GUN, and we can make a good reason for it. What do you think?

I decided that I am going to go back to school after I get a new part time job. So, hopefully that'll work out. I just had an interview that went well, but the job itself is something that I can't do. An unadvertised part of it is cleaning bathrooms, and given my germ phobia...no way.

It's the same thing with game consoles and TV's, too, I would guess. My Sega Genesis still works; but I've been through 2 Xbox 360's? I don't think so. I've had people think I'm borderline rude for not being on Facebook, lol.

I'd like to be management, but some of the steps to get there are unsavory. I don't mind hard work, but I don't like a lot of the politics you have to play to get to be management. But if the opportunity ever came up, I would absolutely go for it. You are definitely the type of worker I'd hire in a heartbeat because we share the same work ethic :) And you're a good person on top of that!

It's almost the blind leading the blind XD Ekyt will just kind of 'be' in the role all of a sudden. And how awkward will it be for his "daughter in law" to look his age but be so much older? Lol, there's a comic in there somewhere! I think their relationship will be a high point of our fic.

Well, what would you prefer? I think we could write him either way, but you're the bigger Shadow fan- what would be more fun for you?

Sorry for the long wait between replies! My Dad has been sick, so I've been kind of distracted.

I don't text very often, or even use my phone very often, so mine suits my needs pretty well. I only really carry it if I'm off by myself, driving or in the woods. I like to be able to disconnect from the rest of the world too much to justify a smart phone. I think, though, once they make them a little less fragile, I'd definitely get one.

I think the only reason I might be a good supervisor is because I genuinely don't mind being the guy to give bad news. I also know that compliments are more effective than running employees down with the negative crap. I'd like to be a supervisor, because then I'd know exactly what the hierarchy of power was. It drives me nuts when I walk into a job, and I don't know who's in charge, or everyone is kind of at the same level, so all the good and bad the employees do gets thrown together. I'd like to know if I, personally, am doing a good job or need improvement.

I think we have a winning scenario here :) Both our characters have some growth, and we work on their bond, too. That will come in handy later when Tiffany and Kurt meet. Ekyt is very much the father/big brother you don't want to meet if you're a guy XD I could see him introducing himself as "Colonel Ekyt" or something to the wrong guy/girl to scare them off.

I'm thinking that myself. I don't really want to go back, and I wonder if that's the reason why. It's too far from home for me to be happy with commuting, and I sure as hell won't live there! There is a college that is half the distance away I thought I might look into. It's a notorious party school, but it also produces a lot of good students, so...maybe. I sure as heck won't live there, though!

 

My phone isn't made for texting. I've got no desire to own a smart phone. I had one with the touch screen, and it drove me nuts. Now I've got a military-grade flip phone that can apparently survive being dunked in water and being dropped (it's already survived a couple falls). So texting is good, but time consuming. Clothes must have some psychological effect, you're right.

It was really the people that made it so much fun. I definitely miss my coworkers. The place, too. I mean, you can't work with toys and video games and NOT look a little forward to work. If there was better money there, or opportunity for advancement, I probably would have stayed longer than I did. It's cool that your boss could trust you like that. I did get to be in that position one time- I was one of four people who ran the museum for an after-hours event. I tend to like having that kind of responsibility. I think I would have made a decent supervisor. I'd imagine you would, too, for that matter. We're both amiable enough to listen to people, but not so immersed with the "inner circle" mentality that seems to be an issue with some supervisors.

It would be a wake-up call for Ekyt. I'm thinking we could position this before his transformation. We can establish his character that way, and the maybe use the trauma of nearly getting killed to act on the SoulTouch he's been denying he's been feeling. It would help him and Tiffany bond, too- Ekyt would definitely decide that he's loyal toward her at that point.
Maybe that's when they start having their talks.

It couldn't believe they actually admitted it. Being racially biased- I knew they were. I didn't know how bad, but I knew it was a real thing. When they SAID it to me, though, I had a hard time believing they'd be dumb enough to openly admit it. Wish I'd gone after them harder. I probably could've had the rest of my education comped or something.

I'm usually not someone to embrace new technology, but texting is definitely a life saver for me! I don't know what it is, but I'm even worse talking on the phone than I am in person. I think maybe it's because, over the phone, I'm usually talking to someone for the first time, and I'm never sure if I'm saying their name right or something -_-' I know what you mean about saying lines, in a manner of speaking. If I'm dressed in a suit and tie, or in my martial arts gear, speaking is easier. The self confidence I don't have just kind of appears.

I had an even better one. I'll PM you, though. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say what the job was yet, since the game is still in development.

The management was so reputation conscious that if one person made a mistake years ago, there was no way anyone was getting a first chance to make a mistake. I got where they were coming from, but I still think that it went a bit too far. Have less strict rules, and anyone who abuses the more lax rules gets fired. I would prefer that to this "preemptive punishment" thing. Some exhibits didn't have clocks, either, and we were supposed to switch at certain times. One in particular was the horrible, loud, boring, isolated area, and you had to switch at least every hour. We had radios, but the person you were switching with was in a low priority area, and didn't always get a radio. As far as shirts go- some people wore undershirts, but only the ones that didn't ever work in the horribly hot and humid butterfly garden. I was in the garden a lot (I liked it). Honestly, the food court people could be jerks, so I wouldn't buy from them on principal anyway, lol.

I know I want to do a chapter where Ekyt loses it because of people not trusting him. Where he just has enough and decides to take out some huge enemy to prove a point. I think he'll need Tiffany and Linda to save his backside XD It'll be fun to have him lose control, though.

I figured out why people don't want to deal with anxiety- it's too minor. Whenever I've told people about it, they always compare it to the anxiety you get before a big test. Plus the fact that you don't necessarily need medication to get over it makes it seem too minor, and more "irritating" than "serious problem". I've told some of these people "imagine you can't ever get away from your fear. Test day never comes- you just dread it and dread it, and once it DOES come, you don't feel better after". As for school- ugh. If you hadn't guessed, I go to a college that isn't very, ah, white focused. If you aren't black,
hispanic, or a mix thereof, they don't do jack for you.

I definitely prefer the original Charmy. I can see where it wouldn't translate well to game play, but for comics I like that he had a real story.

The fact that I even attempted was a step in the right direction for me! As far as public speaking goes, the thing about it is that I don't have to think about what to say. With a person one-on-one, you have to be so careful with what you say and you have to really relate a topic to them. With public speaking, I already know the topic, and if I'm the one doing the speaking, then I'm usually the person who knows what they're saying (that came out sounding arrogant; I just couldn't think of a better way to say that).

Yes indeed. He's a heck of a nice guy. I worked with him on another game that came within a hair of getting a commercial release. We were also going to make a special version for the museum I worked at. I got pretty deep into talks with them. That was so cool for me- being the guy in the suit, selling the product, talking on behalf of a game company...it was just really cool, and I hope I get to do it again.

We were always instructed to bring a lunch. The foodcourt was always packed, and if we went in there, we couldn't be in uniform (apparently a few employees had been rude while in uniform, so that ended that), and no one really felt like bringing a change of clothes. We could keep things in our lockers and check our phones on lunch, but no way were we allowed to carry them on the floor at all. Not even in our pockets. That came from too many people messing around and not working.

lol, Tiffany and Linda will be the two who keep him sane! He'll earn respect, but there will be certain things that people won't like him doing because he is/was human.

I dropped the class, but I didn't get my money back. I was too tired and miserable to go talking up the chain of command, honestly. My anxiety was at a bad place, and I just didn't have enough mental reserves to deal with other people's stupidity at that point. Heck, I had the same issue when they turned me down for a grant because I was "white, had two parents, and had no visible disability". Um...wow. I didn't take that very calmly, as you might imagine. I made some very unkind comments. Nothing racial, just not very...Christian. It wasn't the first time we'd had discussions like this, either. Because I have anxiety and not something visible, they aren't interested in helping out.

Bunnie definitely seems like the type to accept anyone- especially with Sally's "she's ok."
 

I'm an oddball when it comes to social interaction. I can do public speaking, but one on one conversations just spike me into the ground. It's like, okay, I want to see people- just don't come near me! My Dad can talk to anyone. The other day, I tried to just talk to someone- a cashier at a sporting good's store- and she was instantly not speaking to me. My question was: "Hockey, huh?" (interested tone), after reading that she liked hockey on her nametag. I guess she thought I was going to hit on her or something XD Ah well. I'm good for social interaction now!

Knuckles was the biggest issue for me. That, and Sonic's arms being blue. I'm very much a traditionalist when it comes to Sonic. But a good friend of mine is making the game, so I'm keeping an open mind. I think the cartoon will be good (and they'll probably change the looks a bit, given the HUGE negative backlash from the fans)- as long as the voice acting isn't awful!

We weren't allowed to have any devices on us- no cell phones, no game devices- nothing. Too many people got caught texting on the job. I was fine with that, though. I started going outside during lunch- even in winter- just to get fresh air.  Toward the end of my time there, my lunches were always 32 minutes long. There was a big issue about people clocking back in at 29 minutes; we had to take thirty. They told us it was better if we were late. So, eventually I gave up and said "Fine". At that point, I had someone picking me up to go to lunch anyway, so I would just hightail it to Arby's and relax.

I think we have a winner here. We have two interesting, well thought out OC's with unique stories that manage to intersect in a cool way. This is going to be a joy to write, and fun to read! My goal is to give Ekyt some happiness at some point. He's always the underdog; at one point I want him to win the fight, get the girl, and have people be happy with him. That's the only thing I've never done with him.

I started doing most of my school online, so I would get mad if a teacher didn't bother to answer an email. To me, if a student asks for help, you help them- that's your job. A fireman doesn't tell you to put the fire out yourself- he gives you a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher to help you for the next time you screw up! (Wow, THAT was dramatic XD)

The Chaotix are a fun group. Granted, I HATED Charmy's voice acting in Sonic heroes. Yeah, he's a bee, but he's sixteen years old, is a prince, and has a wife! Now he's six, still a bee, but on a sugar high all the time.

For some reason, I see Bunnie reaching out to Tiffany. Probably because they're both different.  That, and Bunnie is pretty much unconditionally friendly, and would be a good sparring partner for Tiffany. Tiffany could go pretty hard at her, and she'd still be fine, with the cyborg limbs and all.

I'm the opposite way- I'll make plans, be excited about them, then realize I really don't want to do anything as the day approaches. Then it leads to dread XD Zoos and the woods are the top two on my list. I've also got a good size yard, and I enjoy going out to just get some sun. I've got some sort of weird biological thing where, if I don't see the sun, I start to feel...off. Not sick or anything, just weird.

I'm looking forward to the new cartoon, though I'm not real enthused about the character designs.

That's it exactly! He'll be all for all the ceremony and ritual that Knuckles would probably be more reluctant to take part in. And this way, I can make him and Knuckles both powerful, but in radically different ways. Plus, Ekyt would definitely be fascinated by Tiffany's story (when he learns about it), given his mentality.

I think that you're right. The people who party, join fraternities/sororities, or even just live in the dorms. I'd love to talk academically with the professors, but most of them are so jaded and bored they don't want to bother.

You've got it! That's definitely the way to write them, I think :) I plan to have Kurt be friendlier than Ekyt, so even when Vector does something stupid and looks for help later, Kurt will just smile quietly and do his thing, and joke about it later.

It would definitely be a good avenue for TIffany being more trusted, too. Sally holds a lot of sway with the others. If she trusts Tiffany, then Bunny will (I always forget that Sally and Bunny were good friends earlier in the comic), and Sonic really accepts everyone for who they are. The others can fall in line gradually, for one reason or another.



 

I have to be really motivated to go out. About the only thing I'll do with any regularity is do something outside. Park, beach, skiing, etc- that's usually good with me.

I get the sense that there was supposed to be another season, and that it just didn't happen. I kind of feel bad for the English VA's- 4Kids always does the worst job translating Japanese sentences and mannerisms.

That's a good way to act. I don't play politics at work. Unfortunately, I'm not a super friendly person, so I think people don't know what to make of me. I'd probably be a great Internal Affairs person though!  When I was refereeing hockey, I was routinely asked to go get a beer after the game. I just remember thinking "I just put some of these guys in the penalty box- why do I want to go drinking near them, when they've just threatened me?"

I figure Ekyt will know all these obscure tactics, and old ways to use chaos energy. Like the way he'll contain the explosion or whatever before his transformation- I want him to have read the method in some ancient echidna text.

They're definitely good sounding boards for each other. Ekyt can keep a secret, which would probably put Tiffany more at ease when talking to him. I don't plan for him to have a tragic past, or even a really interesting one. More of a pitiable one, lol.

I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and just finish it quickly, and then be done with it. I wish I could get the enjoyment out of college that other people do, but at this point it's a chore; just one more thing I have to do.

I think Kurt is going to be kind of the group strategist, similar to Ekyt in that way. I've noticed the Chaotix never really have a plan- they charge in and brawl pretty much- so I figure that Kurt could be the guy with a good head on his shoulders. He'll definitely have his own, personally-developed fighting style. I might give him a weapon; I'm not sure yet.

They'll be a good conversational match, too. Sally has lost how many people under her command over the years? It never really shows it in the comic, but I'll bet she has some guilt to deal with.
 

I think, if you're enjoying yourself without hurting anybody else, then it's okay. It's better than being dragged to a bar and not having fun, and making your friends feel guilty for bringing you.

It just didn't make sense sometimes. That ending was definitely bogus. The show should have run longer than that. I truly think that the American voice acting really killed the show both in the US and in Japan.

I've never had people completely agree that one supervisor or another is good. Even at the museum, 99% of the employees would like one person, and a handful would point out something that every could agree was rotten. I try to look at it from the supervisor's point of view- if they were being malicious or otherwise unhelpful, then forget it- I won't trust them. If they make a mistake, that I can forgive- especially if they own up to it.

Ah, that's true, too. You're right. I think if just make sure Ekyt is powerful in a different way from Knuckles and Sonic, that'll be enough. He'll definitely have a different fighting style, so that should be fine. Ekyt's one of those people everyone will say "He's such a great guy..." but that'll be it.

I think it would be a really gradual thing. Ekyt would probably try to get Tiffany to open up, seeing how similar they are. He'd try to help her in a way he can't help himself. He's aware he's stunted socially, but he figures he can't fix himself, so he'll gently try to guide people in the same position.

I'm trying to approach college with a decent attitude, but it's hard. I like learning, but I just don't want to be there. I don't want to spend ludicrous amounts of money on courses that do nothing for me -_-' If I could only take what interested me, that would be a different story.

I just see them getting along well. Even though Sally is friendly with everybody, she still keeps a certain distance because she's the leader.

That's a good plan. Living by yourself is probably a key step to real independence. I'm only guessing, lol. I've got plenty of my own quirks, not to mention my innate personality, so I read ya! I'm just as happy being at home, reading a book (lately, either Michael Crichton or S.D. Perry's stuff) with hot chocolate. A bar? Why would I want to go there? My friends just kind of roll their eyes. It's like it just doesn't occur to me that I can go places, for some reason.

It bothered me that Eggman was such a joke. He was hardly a villain. When we got into that whole "space" arc thing, I kinda lost interest.
If you liked the kind of humor that Scrubs had, I think you'll like the Middle. It's got that same kind of humor- dry, sarcastic, no laugh track. As far as NCIS  goes, I'm an Abby fan! Gibbs is a close second, though.

It's always cool when you get a decent supervisor. My last one was a problem for me. I had a pretty open availability, but she'd keep calling me to work on days and times when I wasn't available. 
I think my friend is training to be a gallery manager. She'd be great at that. She has patience for people, she's well liked and well respected, and she is very organized. She always organized the staff's after-work outings.

I like him that way, but I also don't want him running over Sonic and Knuckles' parts too much. Knuckles is definitely not an intellectual type, and I want him and Ekyt to compliment each other, so...yeah. I also want people to be surprised when Ekyt fights. I want him to kind of be a trump card- like, oh crap, he can do that?!  I think he'll probably be pitied because he's so far from what and who he wants to be- especially before his transformation.

Tiffany is really going to be a fun character to watch develop :) For the narration, I was thinking that maybe something could happen to one of them. Say, Ekyt can't do something that Knuckles can do. He'd tell Tiffany he was frustrated, and then tell her why, eventually relating the story to his past. "I've never been fast enough, ever since I was a kid...", or something. Tiffany would tell her own snippet of her past. They could gradually learn about each other that way, and I think it's a bit smoother than just using unexplained flashbacks.
If I might suggest: Maybe Lian-Na, or Lia-Na? I did a little more digging, and it seems like the hyphenated names always have two letter to them. Julie-Su, Lara-Su, Crystal-La, Lien-Da, etc. I never picked up on the two letter deal until I started digging.

I don't know how she got past the registration process- there was a basic computer pre-requisite that she clearly didn't meet...
I probably will. Stats is just so horribly evil. I put it right up there with accounting. Ugh.

I think it's because our generation was raised largely on sitcoms and porn -_-' Real intimacy seems to have gone by the wayside.
I think Ekyt and Tiffany will be similar like that. Letting only that one, special person in, keeping everyone else at arm's length. Having Ekyt be a catalyst for her change makes sense.
I was thinking of two things with Kurt.
1. He gets badly injured in such a way that Ekyt feels guilty. Ekyt tries to save him the way he was saved, with chaos energy. But not being as experienced or talented as Knuckles, he over does the treatment and drains a chaos emerald into Kurt.
OR
2.Kurt has an accident with the Chaos Syphon, similar to Knuckles' ancestor, Dmitri/Enerjak.
Both have merit to them, I think. Which do you like better?

I like that for Tiffany. That could probably eventually lead to her making friends with someone like Sally, who would see the good she was doing without advertising it, and quietly come to trust her.

For me, I would have to be able to absolutely trust that person, and be sure they could put up with my idiosyncrasies XD I think, maturity wise, I'm just at the point where I would be okay. But I decided to wait until I've got better financial security, and ideally my own house.

My God, the voice acting for English Sonic X was so horrendous. And I'll admit, I thought some very unkind things about Chris Thorndyke. I also watch NCIS. The Middle is also on my list, mostly because I watched Scrubs and thought the janitor was hilarious.

Guys say crude things amongst each other, but mostly they won't say that to a girl's face. In my (albeit limited) experience, girls are actually less shy about saying things to guys faces XD When I used to referee hockey, the girls were more, ah, creative than the guys were with their comments.

She was just about everything. We had that talk about "fake" girls- to me, that's how a 'fake" girl acts. I like the aggressive girls that can kick butt, take names, and still be somewhat feminine! 

It's cool that you got to transition into another job like that. It does seem like a better fit for a hard worker ^^ Much easier to contribute that way!  I was kind of hoping to do the same thing at the museum- I wanted to be one of the people on the second/third floor that worked on the exhibits, or did paperwork. Paperwork would have been more my speed. A friend of mine (who started at the same time as me) actually just got an apprenticeship there!

That's a good word for him. "Fighter". I like that! I kind of wanted him to compliment Knuckles. Knuckles will attack head-on; Ekyt would be in the background with Archimedes reading the ancient scrolls and developing his abilities. I want him to be a character that the others will semi-pity, or at least worry about!

This is interesting. There's an interesting potential for a relationship dynamic between her and Ekyt there. They're both secretive by nature; it would be interesting to have them talk, and have each of them tell pieces of their back story that way. It would be a way for us to narrate the story. I already know when I plan to reveal Ekyt's back story (during his transformation). You could tell isolated bits about Tiffany- how she got her name, etc- things that aren't big giveaways, just interersting.
As far as Liana, you could pull a surprise and have her be of the House of Jordann. Knuckles is from the House of Edmund, a descendant of the House of Jordann, so it would give her some ancient lineage. That would make for a lot of storyline possibilities, I think.

I did take a class on it, a long time ago. The professor was useless, unfortunately, and deleted some of my work when I asked him to fix it. I wound up teaching the girl next to me how to use a computer, because she'd never used one before ^^' Plus, it was really basic stuff- using layers, very basic animation, etc.
My councilor is doing the same thing right now, ,except he knows that I would like to get a business degree eventually, and Stats is a requirement there.  At this point, though, I just want to work on this other degree so I've got a degree, period.

lol, I get that a lot from my female friends. I'm just really into the whole trust and intimacy thing. Like, I love the concept of a man and woman taking on the entire world together, and then being totally fine just cuddling up. As far as Tiffany goes- if you make it a gradual process, it would be fun to read about! 
I might adjust Kurt's role. Linda-Su and Ekyt are a little young to adopt a kid at this juncture, but I thinking Kurt would fit right in with the Chaotix...

Good call. I picture her kind of moving around a perimeter within the Great Forest or something. So she can keep an eye out for danger, and maybe take care of it before it gets to her friends.

That's true. Maybe I'll get another shot someday. Right now, I'm more working on myself. I'm kind of having this mindset of not being sure if I want to include someone else in my life on that level until I get my head on straight.
I'll watch the cartoons I watched as a kid (Sonic, X-Men, Rugrats), but I'll also watch things like Psych, Moonlighting,  and Benson (Have fun looking THOSE up! XD). My friends are sex obsessed, but since the bunch I'm thinking of is male, that's probably normal. I won't pretend I'm not interested; it just isn't my main concern. Getting financial stable comes first.

I can recommend the workbook I used. It was the Genki I workbook. It's very good, and not horribly expensive.

I think she's supposed to be this, like, "pure existence" or something. To me, she can be outright obnoxious. Tikal was a pure existence. Cream is...cloying XD
The museum was unique in that, sometimes, there was literally no work. Some exhibits had nothing to clean, nothing to organize- nothing but you and another person in there for four hours. The Butterfly Garden was like that- you kind of had to talk to stay sane. It was usually 82 degrees, 80% humidity, so if nothing else you complained about how hot it was.

It's hard, because him I don't want to be anti-social, or an outright jerk. He's not an anti-hero- he's firmly a good guy. I want his solidarity to make him cool, not a rebel.

Ah, fair point. I keep forgetting about the secrecy that's necessary for that. It makes sense that way, and I think will wind up being interesting. It's like, you KNOW Tiffany has a story, and you know it's going to get told- at some point. I love that kind of storyline.
That kind of character evolution will definitely be interesting to watch. I feel like she'll be really dependable in clutch situations. I also feel like Ekyt would probably kind of ask her about Linda-Su when he's trying to sort out his feelings. She seems like she's approachable that way.

Photoshop is something I'd like to master. I took it in high school, but I never really grasped it. I don't have a lot of natural artistic ability, so it takes longer for things to stick.
God, Statistics! Half the problem was I had THE most inflexible, unhelpful professor in recorded history. The other end was the whole process was just so over engineered. Why can't I just count stats? Why do I need to insert algebra? Because it's more efficient? For who? AGH! I'm thinking I'll go with general math- good call on your part :)

I can imagine him bringing Linda-Su home for the first time, and being all shy and nervous about it. Linda being Linda, she'll pick on him for it, but then be completely comforting and nice.
Any idea about Tiffany's living situation? Forgive me if we've talked about it and I've forgotten.

Yeah, that's okay. Given my anxiety level about illnesses, dating someone who works in a hospital is probably a bad idea. Plus, I could never figure out a non-creepy way to ask her out. 
If you're happy, that's what counts! Personally, I get nervous around girls that are a little too sex happy. I think we're all trying to play into what we think the other sex wants. And since we all grew up with "Friends", "Seinfeld", and a few others, we're all living into the sitcom stereotype.

If you do that, I think we can even avoid you needing any workbooks or anything like that :)

I'm the same way- I'd rather be left alone, doing paperwork or something. But these particular people really made it fun to chat. And I'll admit, there's a little bit of pride in knowing that not everyone could do my job. Working with kids and touchy parents is really trying sometimes -_-' One person in particular told me that I was literally going to start talking to her or she would be so over-the-top friendly it would drive me to quit XD I actually just met up with her and another former coworker the other day for lunch and a quick catch-up session.

True enough. I always found teenage boys to be obnoxious, myself included back then XD I want to balance Ekyt out so he's mature, but still fun loving. Probably an odd mix of Shadow, Sonic, and Knuckles. Keeps to himself, is friendly when he does talk, and serious about his work.

That really fits for Tiffany's character. I can see that ability coming in handy- heck, probably in our first storyline! I can't wait to see what else you do with her abilities :D
I think she'll wind up being a fun character to develop. I think she'll be one of those characters that will gradually grow and change, and wind up being incredibly cool. Having her being a liaison to the Floating Island, there'll be plenty of characters for her to chat with. I forgot- is she the type to befriend everyone?

Okay, my new college story: I went to see my counselor today, to pick my last 6 classes for my degree. I pointed at a course called "Modern Business Math" and said I wanted to take that one. Somehow, this "modern business math" course wasn't actually a math course! Despite having to do with math, and with "math" in the title, it's somehow an applied science course, and therefore not one I need to take for my degree! Ugh! Instead, I'm forced to choose between Statistics (failed it), Calculus (scared of it), and General Math (dreading it).

Thanks, on both counts! I'm seeing Ekyt sleeping amongst a bunch of plants, and if one twitches wrong he's up and running XD Plus, if I ever get around to drawing it, it would be fun to draw Ekyt's home!

Oh- I wanted to run an idea by you really quick.

I wanted to give Ekyt some kind of special ability that wasn't overly useful, but kind of cool. I think there's room to make him a little more powered-up withouth going over the top. So I was thinking: What about "Ecosense"- that is, Ekyt has the ability (to a lesser degree when he's human) to sense changes across the Floating Island by "reading" plant reaction. So, if a wood vine is disturbed on end of the island, and Ekyt is on the other end of the Island and is near a vine of the same species, then he'll know something is up.

That led me to putting his home together. I decided that Ekyt would live in the ruins of a small, lost village not far from the Master Emerald. I have this imagine of this overgrown set of ruins, with a ton of plants and greenery, and he's got this wooden house kind of situated in a hidden area. I plan to make his home life very secretive, though eventually he'll let others in.

What do you think?

My head only got turned one other time. My Dad had some heart trouble, and while he was in the hospital (after he was fine), the technician checking on him was really pretty. And wonder of wonders, I had gone to school with her! But unfortunately, I really wasn't in the mood to ask her out with my Dad in the hospital. I think that as just "attraction". With the other girl, I would almost call it "love at first sight". 
That's too bad. I wonder if there's any hope of you converting him? People can change when it comes to love, or so I'd like to believe.

When they brought Big and Cream around, I kind of rolled my eyes. When Marine showed up, I think I cursed. Now that Professor Pickle is involved, I'm reading the old comics and feeling nostalgic. 

No amount of money is worth your health. Same thing with respect to your peace of mind. I don't know what my ideal job will be, but I want to come home every night, satisfied that I've done good work at an honest living.

It was nice because I worked all over the museum. One day I would be at the Admissions Desk, the next I would be in the Butterfly Garden, then in the market, or the arcade, etc. I was never in the same place twice in a row. The most you could get trained in was the gift shop beyond that. I tried to get into security, since I had the license anyway, but it didn't work.
My job was "Guest relations", which basically meant making sure people had things to play with, didn't get hurt, and to tell people where things were, and to just be a big, friendly person. The cleaning was our "down time" work, which I really didn't mind. At the end, when I was really getting worried about being sick all the time, I was happier when there were no people. I still miss the place, though. I just met up with a couple coworkers from there the other day. I've been gone almost a year, and I'm still in touch with a lot of people.

If I could draw better, that would already be on the site XD. I just keep picturing Linda's face. From 0_0 to 0_<  lol.

At that point, I can't see either of them being interested in love, either. Linda might be a little more into it- like maybe having some kind of ex-boyfriend (so Ekyt can beat someone up for her honor later XD), but by and large they're both just rolling their eyes. For Ekyt, this will be the trigger that makes him kind of want to fall in love. He's met Julie-Su, and he thinks she's pretty cool, but that's the extent of what he's managed to think of romance wise. In other words, typical blockhead teenage boy minus sex impulses XD

Oh, I see. I misunderstood. I love the "glitchy" power idea! It's also cool that those powers don't come without a risk.
Hmm...Well, I actually have an idea for that. Originally, Constable Remington was Ekyt's rival for Linda-Su, but if I keep true to Echidna lineage, Linda and Remington are actually half-siblings, so that's out.
What about having Liana be something of a liaison between the Freedom Fighters and the Floating Island? This way, she's helping people, she's involved in the story in a non-violent way, and she avoids being a "Cream" like character. Or what if she winds up being Dr. Quack's nurse or something?

It's too bad; I don't think it was always that way. I think when we were both really young, going to college was more prestigious and probably made a lot more sense.
 

It was just bad timing, I guess ^^' She also deals with an anxiety disorder, so we would have had that it common. It takes a lot for a girl to turn my head (mostly personality), so when my head DOES get turned and I don't have a shot, it kind of...well, sucks XD As far as sex goes, to me it's an absolutely demonstration of trust. I certainly don't trust everyone, so I wouldn't want to have sex with just anyone. I don't think I could drop my guard around someone I knew just casually.

It's a good decision to take care of student loans first. If you'd like, I could try to help you out with sentence structure. I did fairly well on that on my test :) As far as that bill went, it was the same. I take classes at a community college mostly, but for this I had to go to a fairly elite school (the community college stopped offering the level of Japanese I needed). 

It would have made sense to just leave Ken Penders in charge. I like Ian Flynn, but Ken Penders did a better job, I think. He told stories about the existing characters, instead of bringing in tons of new characters. Learning about Knuckles' and the other echidna's past was cool.

It was incredibly stupid of me, lol. It really was. In my defense, I was looking to leave my other job, so I was testing the waters for a better offer (it wasn't better). And the money was definitely nice. As far as your situation went- ugh. Nothing is worth your health imho.

It was definitely weird. Cool at the same time, but just kind of freaky. I never got to see the fire itself, unfortunately. That would have been cool.
It was that way at the museum, too, minus the union thing. It was just that people didn't cross train for some reason. I created opening and closing procedure lists, and even a powerpoint training program, and that didn't make the managers happy (except for the library desk training- THAT needed so much updating that they were okay with that).

A little part of me imagined a comic where his, ah, "male parts" stayed the way they were after his transformation XD But you're right, it wouldn't make sense for him to be overly clothed. Thanks! :)

It would definitely fit them. Ekyt is always like that, but Linda-Su is normally more aggressive, so it's a rare out of character moment for her. Kind of like when Julie-Su acts shy once in a blue moon XD

Take your time :) If you don't mind a bit of input, I would make her Shadow's equal, but in a different way than having them have the exact capabilities. I would tweak her abilities. Since they're brother and sister, maybe there's a way to write it so their abilities compliment each other? Like they're two halves of the same whole. That adds a different dimension to the "ultimate life form' thing, I think.

If my major is business, why do I need to take two P.E. classes? Or English Lit? I think it's because colleges are run like businesses- they've got to make money somewhere.

What worries me is that I think I met "the one that got away". I met her, kind of fell for her, but didn't know how to approach her (she worked at my dentist's office, assisting when he filled my cavities). There were a number of reasons why I liked her, but the fact was there was no non-creepy way to approach her. Then I heard she had a boyfriend. Then she got married, and that's that, because unfortunately I'm one of those old-fashioned folks who believes in the sanctity of marriage. She's not in my every waking thought or anything, but it's rare that I trust someone that much. So (shrug)- weird stuff to be feeling. And I mean, seriously- who the heck falls in love while they're getting their teeth drilled?! lol, that's like a manga story!

That's how it started with me. My tutor charges $50/session, but sessions are sometimes an hour and a half long or longer, so that's fine. I was taking her class at a college when they handed me my $2700 bill- for ONE COURSE! I emailed her, apologizing that I had to drop her course. She agreed to tutor me for what I thought was a fair price. I just got lucky enough to find an accommodating instructor.

You know, they've been doing bizarre stuff. That Archie re-design in 2010, the whole "killing off Archie" thing this July. I think the fact that their editor-in-chief is 90 years old is part of the problem. As for why Ken Penders and Archie sued each other- it was creative differences. There's a new writer/producer, Ian Flynn, who is taking things in a different from Ken Penders. A lot of stuff Ken wrote and laid the groundwork for, and he doesn't want his creations to wind up being creatively misused. Archie wanted total control over the characters. It's kind of a lousy situation for both parties, I think.

It was stupid of me the way I did my 3rd shift. I tried to keep my other job, so a couple times I would have been up from 11pm to 7am, then up for my next job at 11:00am. There were so many ways I could have done things better, but I wanted to be Superman. And wouldn't ya know it, no sleep is my kryptonite! So I totally get what you're saying about sleep schedules! Ugh, I can't believe I was that dumb! lol. Ambitious at the time, dumb in retrospect XD

It was a weird chemical fire that kind of "floated" on the water. The fire got high enough to lick the ceiling, but that's it. It didn't spread beyond the tank. But because of the chemicals, it smoked like heck. 
I'm with you- I like to earn my money. On a really slow day, I could wash all the plexiglass on the second floor of the museum probably five times. And there was a LOT of freakin' plexi glass!

I'm torn between wanting him to be 100% echidna and wanted parts of him to be human. The five fingers thing and the smaller feet will probably be all that I'll do with that. I figure he should be taller because, as a human, he would have been closer to fully grown than Knuckles (though I don't know how much growing an echidna does between 16 and 200, so I'm guessing). 
I think maybe I'll have Ekyt clothed only in formal situations. Like, whenever he visits Sally and co. I would think that he'd have a hard time understanding that he can be naked now XD

Absolutely go with whatever you think will work! I was avoiding white because I didn't want it to resemble a wedding, and I was avoiding black because I didn't want it to resemble a funeral. I was avoiding pink because that's her fur color. I can pick out why I DON'T want colors, but not what would work XD I leave it in your capable hands!
Can you picture the two of them sneaking away from the dance floor, winding up "hiding" in the same corner, then only saying something like "sorry" to each other before walking away?

I think this will definitely be a fun, interesting course to go. How's Tiffany's development coming? :) I feel bad that we only ever talk about my OC's.

That could very well be. Or so many people have degrees now, that it's the new equivalent of a high school education? I hear a lot of theories. I'm an "ISTJ" according to the Meyers-Briggs scale, which means that I like short learning with immediate application, so I might just be griping XD

I really enjoy studying it. I studied it in school as long as I could, and I now have a tutor who works one-on-one with me. I got really lucky in that respect.

Crap, I think I'm going to wind up hating Archie Comics -_-' The man responsible for most of the echidna storylines, Ken Penders, left and he and Archie wound up suing each other. Now Archie has the rights to use his characters, but is generally refusing to do so. So no Locke, Archimedes, Julie-Su, Lara-Su, and a ton of the Guardians are gone. I think they just introduced Knuckles' potential new girlfriend...ugh. I can't blame Ken Penders (I emailed him- he's a pretty cool guy), especially not with the other stupid crap Archie has been pulling lately.

Good choice. I worked overnights once, and I loved it. My body didn't though. I'm not sure if it was the weird hours, or that they were doing construction and I was (accidentally) inhaling some bad stuff (drywall dust, paint, paint thinner, asbestos), but I felt like I had the flu for two weeks. Ugh. But I loved working on my terms and not interacting with a ton of people. The bad part was that I shared an office with the maintenance people, and my paycheck came out of THEIR paycheck, so they really didn't like having me around.

That it was! I actually got lightheaded from guarding this one door. The smoke was really bad behind it, and kids kept wanting to run through it. No one got injured, thankfully. The heck of it was, I was one of the first to notice that there was a fire. I was on the second floor, and the smoke got thick. I had the other guy get everyone we could see out (he was injured and couldn't walk very well, so I figured it would be easier for me to run around the floor to see if everyone was out), and I actually got to call the special radio code for a fire. That was oddly cool. The bizarre thing was that the fire was in a fish tank 0_o
That sounds fun! It's always nice when you get cool coworkers that can enjoy a set of circumstances like that! And, hey, Pizza Hut! That alone makes it all worth it! XD

I might mess with the length of his torso, too, to maybe make him look vaguely human, and just have him be overall taller than Knuckles (Knuckles, apparently, isn't fully grown, since a lot of the other echidnas who are way older are taller than him). I'm still not sure if he'll wear clothes as an echidna or not. Kind of a weird thing to wonder about, I guess ^^' At some point, I'm going to have to stop messing with his design!

It seems like the males wear black tuxedo-like things. I'll probably put Ekyt in a bowtie, since he's always one to observe the formalities.

It also eliminates Ekyt's need to have a weapon all the time. And maybe we could even do a story about how Ekyt is jealous of Knuckles, since Knuckles has all this natural ability and power (maybe even have him wishing he was an echidna himself, before his transformation).

I'm just getting set to go back to school for an Associate's Degree myself. Honestly, I'm just not that into college. I would rather learn important skills and apply them, instead of taking a broad range of courses. But I'm trying to suck it up now XD

I hear you! All my friends are either married or having semi-regular sex, but they're considerate of me. One persistent buddy of mine will offer every few months to introduce me to a friend of his. We occasionally kid about the subject, but they're pretty cool. One guy married a Japanese girl, and I got to totally show him up by speaking to her (I took the Japanese Language Proficiency Test a couple years ago and earned an N5 level. Not fluent, but I could survive in Japan!).

That sounds good, too. Crowds can be really irritating, can't they? Especially since it seems like there are more rude people now than ever before -_-'

 That was one thing about the museum- in all my time there, I STILL didn't see everything! There were back hallways I never navigated. One day we had a fire, and this is literally the day before I'm due to start my second job as a "Fire Watch" security officer! The coolest thing about the staff was the way we all just simply decided to do thing. During the evacuation, one person was handing out blankets, another was stopping traffic so the fire trucks could come in. I was walking around playing with the kids, asking them if they liked fire trucks, etc. We got back inside, and it was really smokey, so we couldn't go in one are of the museum. Somebody actually dashed through the smoke and came back with two huge baskets of toys. Another was going to go get into a costume (I think it was going to be Peter Rabbit or something). I offered to run food orders through a back hallway, or to go break into the vending machines downstairs. We never talked about any of this- everyone just agreed that the kids were there to have a good time, and that was what was going to happen.

I really tried to figure out what would make him special, but not too far from the norm. I wound up liking the result a lot more than I thought! I thought I would have a hard time to with his new design, since he's almost always been human, but this wound up cool! I really like his semi-tribal look. Thanks so much! I can't wait to see what you drew! :D

I didn't know this, but apparently Knuckles was exposed to Chaos Energy while he was still in his egg, making him even more supercharged. Cool! I want to make use of the fact that Ekyt is human and knows martial arts, too. I'm planning to have him fight mostly empty handed as an echidna, and have his fists coated with Chaos Energy so he doesn't break his bones when he punches metal robots.

More power to you for finishing school, too! A degree is a piece of paper- finishing school is the REAL sign of intelligence :D

My turn to say it: Thank you! Someone else who gets the concept! One person, for life! I'm absolutely the same way with that. I've got just about 0 desire for any short term or casual relationships.

When I needed a break, I was lucky enough to know all the exits, and all the nooks and crannies of the building. I usually wound up outside once a day (even in winter), to just breathe some fresh air and relax for a few minutes. One bad day in particular, I was really upset, and one of the managers got me and brought me into the office, and we watched this youtube video of a girl doing impressions of all 151 original Pokemon voices. Definitely cool bosses.
Well, my coworkers made it fun. That, and ICHEG- International Center for the History of Electronic Gaming. I literally got to work in an arcade some days. And if you go downstairs, into a locked area of the building, you see ICHEG itself- with literally the biggest collection of video games anywhere in America! We had Nintendo executives in the building, some reps from Sony and Microsoft- that was majorly cool!

Why don't we switch of chapter by chapter, and we'll just talk about parts where we borrow each other's OC's. Like, if we have a scene planned with Tiffany and Ekyt, I'll tell you how Ekyt will react to the situation, and then look forward to seeing what you come up with. Does that work for you?

No, you're right- he was way too much of a cliche. I toyed with a couple things- since Linda-Su was holding him, then maybe he winds up being her color? But then, I really didn't want Ekyt to be pink --' I looked at the past Guardians, and they either had something odd with their dreadlocks, or they had eyebrows and forehead ridges. None of those looked right. Ekyt is still young, and those made him look way too old. I think I've got a good solution now, though!

Okay, I sent it off. It isn't a finish product by any means, but it does outline all the things I want to do with him.  Can't wait to hear what you think!

Soultouch is such a cool concept (I wish real life worked that way- put an end to all the teenage dating drama!). It's even better since not every echidna feels it, so not everyone is going to know about it. In this case, Ekyt is almost like Data from Star Trek- he wants to be a real echidna, and feeling something like this will profoundly confuse him, but ultimately be an awesome thing! Except, of course, he's shy, and he knows he has to act on Soultouch, but doesn't know how to do it. So much potential!
I'm picturing her Unveiling being uncomfortable for both her and Ekyt. Linda-Su doesn't like all the formality and attention, so she'd try to get out of the spotlight (and she's not comfortable in overly feminine clothes). Ekyt doesn't like parties as a general rule, so he'd be kind of watching from a corner or something. Then they kind of glimpse each other, but never get a chance to talk or really make eye contact again.
That's what I was thinking. It would ultimately lead him to realizing he's closer to being a real, better Guardian, and he wasn't a big fan of being human anyway (especially not since meeting Linda-Su). The one thing I definitely didn't want was for him to be as powerful as Knuckles. He'll compensate by thinking things through better and knowing strategy. But in terms of outright power, Knuckles is way ahead.

Wow, sorry! I swear I replied- I must not have hit submit! REALLY sorry for the wait!

Relationships before 21 are almost always "practice" relationships, where you make mistakes and it's okay. I didn't see the point of them, because until after college, everyone just goes their separate ways anyway. It seemed kind of ridiculous to waste time and stress over something that's (9 out of 10 times) going to end the same way.
I think you've got the right mindset for looking for the right guy. I think it's better to look for someone who is a hard worker, because chances are they'll channel that into making a relationship work.

Ugh. I couldn't do your job. I used to work at a children's museum, and while I loved almost everything about it, there were days when the obnoxious people came out of the woodwork. Plus, being sick all the time from being around so many kids kind of really sucked. Still, I think I'll always miss that job.

They're going to be fun to write about :) It'll be neat, since I handle Kurt and you handle Tiffany- it'll be neat to see what we each come up with!

The Sonic universe is really fascinating. What I love is how much back story there really is for it now.
I think you're right. This is what I came up with:
-He'll be more of a crimson color
-black gloves w/ five fingers
-smaller feet and longer legs
-Green diamon-shaped marks on his arms and legs to show chaos energy after his transformation
-A green swirl on his forehead to show the chaos energy after his transformation
-Silver tips on the end of his dreadlocks

I also changed Ekyt's human clothes. I actually have a sketch of all this, if you wouldn't mind me emailing it to you. If so, do you still have the same email address?

Ekyt could feel the same thing after his transformation, and maybe to a lesser degree before (more on that in a sec). Then they each confide in someone (Tiffany and Knuckles, maybe), and that's where it gets sorted out.

He'd attend as a Guardian at Knuckles' suggestion (who is trying to get out of the event, but is dragged in by Julie-Su).

Tikal's Prayer: ​http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Tikal%27s_Prayer  I was thinking that this could be a difference between pre-transformation Ekyt and post-transformation Ekyt. To use Chaos Energy, he would need to recite Tikal's prayer before. So it got me thinking about the scene just before his last serious injury. I can see him with his mask cracked (to explain getting rid of it, too), beaten up on the ground, forcing himself to his feet, and muttering Tikal's Prayer to give himself one last burst of power to (insert heroic action here). We could later explain that the excess chaos energy is what actually kept him alive.

I know what you mean. I'm on a hiatus from college right now, but I never quite developed the "skills of the scholar", so to speak XD
 

"Cute" is okay, as long as that isn't the only redeeming quality. Believe me when I say that most of my male counterparts worth anything look past that and into other things. For me, the list is something like: -Someone I can trust with anything  -Someone who takes care of herself (as in not a slob; not referencing overall looks)   -Someone I can have a conversation with   -Someone strong and independent (only the equally fake guys enjoy the fake girls clingy, needy routine). The only thing the sitcoms really got right is that "guys are simple" XD I've also been single my whole life honestly. A lot of that is being shy, a good part of it is also dealing with my anxiety issues. And yet another part of that is interacting with people I meet and thinking that they're asinine, petty creatures who I'd really rather not interface with. People are frustrating!
I can definitely fit Kurt to work that role. I think they'll mesh really well!

Sonic's world is nothing if not flexible! If you read the lastest comics, you'll see that Ixus Naugus has his own "mind control" issues (different from Tiffany's), and they work. So pretty much anything goes!
Ekyt being comatose does indeed refer to when he'll have his transformation. I was thinking about what he'd look like as an echidna. How's this:
Red (Sonic's shoe color) with a white stripe on his chest (like Knuckles), and with gray tips on his dreadlocks with brown eyes? 

Okay, I won't worry about length. As long as our stories mesh, I'll be happy :)

I was leaning towards "Saloc", too. "Baccay" just doesn't roll of the tongue very well.

You'd be surprised at just how many guys find that attractive. I never bought the "oh-I'm-so-helpless" thing- having trained with female martial artists for thirteen years, I know that woman are plenty deadly! Honestly, I roll my eyes at the super-girly type of girl. It just doesn't seem like they could really behave that way...
I love it! It would be fun to have Kurt spell things out! A passive male character who is forced to be aggressive- that'll be fun! I plan to make Kurt more laid-back than Ekyt, so he could probably handle speaking with Tiffany.

Ha! Fair point! God, I still shudder at the "Werehog" thing. Ugh. Anyway, good point. And yes, I do want to have the backstory told. I was thinking maybe we'd do it before Ekyt's transformation? Like, he's comatose or something, and this is what's in his mind- his full back story. Or is that too...never mind. Sonic. Gotcha XD

I hear you. It's hard, knowing every detail about a character but not being able to spell it all out right away.

His struggle between robot and humanity is what made him interesting in SA. If you take out that drama, then you're gutting his character.

I looked up a couple names. I really like the ones you find! I was looking at ​"Baccay", which is "to guard" in Tagalog, or "Saloc", which is "to save" in Tagalog. All the names we found seem to fit. I'll have to think about it and try to choose.

It's not hard for me to write. I'm really girl shy in real life, so it's simple for me to make Ekyt that way. I've told my parents that I'm going to have to wind up with somebody who'll drag me outside the house by the scruff of my neck and make me do fun things XD Linda will definitely be that type of girl with Ekyt. The biggest thing that I want to show is the trust between them. I plan to make Ekyt more standoff-ish this time around, and he's really only going to trust a handful of people.  I wanted to ask- what did you think about Ekyt being adopted by Knuckles' family? And his "spirit guide" Steppenwolf? I kind of made that up on the fly, and it sounded cool, but is it too...weird?

I'm that way, too. Once I get past the beginning, the words definitely flow a bit easier. Take all the time you need :)

Ah, Resident Evil is probably my favorite series after Sonic! If you're going to start the series, I recommend starting with Resident Evil 4 or earlier. The controls change radically between RE3 and RE4. RE4 is probably easier to play. There are some quicktime events, but not too many. The AI is frustrating sometimes, but no worse than any other game. RE4 is also nice because you don't have to know the back story of the rest of the series to understand what's going on in the game.

He needs to talk like a Terminator! "unknown"; "terminated"; "target acquired." That would honestly fix everything for me.

Well, I was looking back at the names of the other guardians. They all had names like Sojourner, or Steppenwolf, or Athair, etc. So I wanted to give him some mystical-sounding name. I haven' settled on anything yet- do you have any suggestions?

 

They made a cool couple, for sure! I like EkytXLinda because they're not an idyllic couple naturally- they MAKE themselves into one :) Plus, it's just cool to have the strong female character grab the shy male character, instead of the other way around.

Man, the things they could have done with not only Sonic, but the Dreamcast! I maintain that if Sega could have afforded to make it able to play DVD's, they would have trounced Sony back then!

Resident Evil 6 did that to me -_-' One controller broken entirely. I don't usually get THAT violent, but man! That game ticked me off!

I liked the part where Rouge found Omega in that jungle area. I think if they scaled back how many lines Omega had, I would like him more. How much does a killer robot really need to say?

I've had characters symbolically "die" just for that reason. In fact, I was thinking about giving Ekyt a "Guardian" name in the future. But he'd been called "Ekyt" by pretty much everyone; it would be more like a title.

I don't think your reaction time is the problem; I think the game is glitched. It's impossible to hit that ramp at the end without a little bit of help from the game.

Ah, I was thinking of two different things. That scene is really awesome. I got really tired of Omega, though. Shadow really didn't need any help. And honestly, neither did Rouge. They're both cool and strong without a killer robot backing them up.

See, I like the name Tiffany. Paula-Su works, and it fits with the rest of the names. It hits the ear weird for me. But like you said, I don't want to change already named OC's, either. Good explanation for Tiffany's name, too!

I think, as Eggman, you should have been able to roboticize the animals you caught for the chao garden and use them to attack! Imagine having an army of Orbinaut's! XD

Those speed segments were an acquired taste. But I liked the feel of the speed. It was kind of...free feeling, I guess? Yup, Amy's ability was turning invisible. Weird. I would love an Archie Comics-based game!

That really is an awesome line from Shadow! I also love that one cutscene where he takes the power rings off his wrists and just blitzes Mephiles' minions! That was so cool!

Cool! Let's go with that then. Embarrassingly, I totally forgot about Kurt! I remembered Paula-Su, though! Gotta change that name, though. Yikes, my naming abilities kind of sucked back then. Kurt is good, though!

Linda-Su would probably suggest them because she'll know them through her sister, Julie-Su. I was thinking- Linda should probably have some kind of injury that forces her out of the fight. There's no way she'd just accept being rescued otherwise. Maybe a twisted ankle or something.

Sonic's levels were good; Tails were kind of interesting. Amy's were necessary, but I didn't really enjoy them. Knuckles' mission was cool and necessary, but I hated having to dig around like that. Big...not necessary. At all. I liked SA2 a lot, but having Tails in a mech kind of bugged me. I would have preferred that being unique to Robotnik/Eggman, since Tails is plenty interesting on his own.
 
The thing that bugged me the most wasn't a glitch. It was that simply jumping wasn't an attack- you had to use a homing attack, or you hurt yourself. One thing I really liked was the "Let's speed up" section of the game, where you simply run at full speed. Once you learned how to dodge the irritating freakin' trees, it was fun!
What I cannot understand (besides Silver's lack of intelligence)- why can Amy turn invisible? It just made no sense...As far as Elise goes...I liked her as far as she had an interesting concept. I would rather have set this whole thing in the Kingdom of Acorn, and have Princess Sally involved.
It was awesome that Shadow just simply got to be bad. He didn't cry "Maria!" every three seconds and shift into emo mode. I don't like it when he gets too tight with Sonic and company- he's better off being the trump card that shows up and saves (or destroys) somebody.

That is the question, isn't it...I was thinking that maybe we make it even a bit sappier. I think Ekyt should fall for Linda-Su first. Then maybe they can be fighting back-to-back, trying to hold out for help, and he winds up getting injured defending her. She drags him to safety, and maybe a Tiffany and Knuckles team clears out the rest of the bad guys. We could invent a legend about the "healing power of the Master Emerald". If we want to have drama, maybe Tiffany, Knuckles, and Linda-Su- the three people who know Ekyt best- have to decide to use the power of the emerald, since Ekyt can't speak for himself at this point. They make this decision while knowing that there are side effects to using Chaos Energy to heal someone- especially a human. So then, we can have the three of them feeling guilty about his transformation, or they can be worried that they made the wrong choice. Since I would imagine species-changing carries psychological effects, Ekyt won't be sure himself. He could even blame the three of them for a while, before needing the ability to glide and interact better with the Master Emerald and realizing that this is for the better.

If I were to outline the beginning as I think it would work best, it would go something like this:
1. Tiffany's individual story
2. Ekyt's individual story and his (and Knuckles) capture
3. Tiffany's rescue attempt and meeting Linda-Su
4. The escape
5. The return and the "emerald retrieval scenario" (that's a great idea you came up with!)
From there, I was thinking that maybe Tiffany takes Linda-Su to the Freedom Fighters for Linda's protection (I don't know where else Tiffany would take her, while I'm thinking about it). This sets up two meetings: Tiffany and the Freedom Fighters, and Ekyt meeting Linda-Su.

I liked the first Sonic Adventure because Sonic's levels still felt like the "old" Sonic games. That, and all the history about the Echidnas and the emeralds. And the music was pretty awesome, too.
I liked Sonic 06, too! The glitches were bad, yeah, but the game itself was beautiful. And I kind of rolled my eyes at people who didn't play it because of Sonic and Elise kissing. THAT'S the deal breaker? This is fantasy, people. Now, Silver...I flat out hated him, if I'm honest. Still do -_-'
I still love the game's opening. When Sonic is on the ground, reaching for Shadow and falling...that was like, wow, the first time I saw it. How cool is Sega to beat up their own main character?! (You've seen what I've done to Ekyt and co- I clearly have no issue with beating him up!).

Really? Huh. I might have to give that a try with my latest Resident Evil fic.

Oh, one more thing about our story- I was thinking that maybe, at some point, I might have Ekyt actually species-shift into an echidna. Maybe exposure to the Master Emerald and his proximity to echidnas prompt the shift. I was thinking that maybe he gets fatally injured, and the power of the emerald is used to heal him. Dr. Quack predicts that he'll crystallize like King Acorn, but instead he...mutates? I don't know- I was just playing around with the concept- what do you think?

I like Sonic Heroes. My favorite games are still on the Genesis, but as far as 3D games go, that one probably comes right after the first Sonic Adventure for me. 
Generations is totally worth playing. Beyond a kind of lame final boss, it's really cool and very well done.
I remember I said some very, er, "creative" things when playing that part of the game XD

I've thought about FF.net, but I haven't had much in the way of good experiences there. They tend to get...uppity...at the mere mention of anything non-canon -_-'

I think I know how we can do this. There was a device in the echidna history section called the Chaos Syphon, which could, well, syphon the power of the chaos emeralds (and is the reason a single "master" emerald exists). What if Robotnik salvaged this technology, meaning to use it against Sonic, and instead is forced to turn it on Tiffany to keep her contained. The thing about the Chaos Syphon that is great for our purposes is that it can only hold so much energy- Ekyt knows this. Grudgingly agreeing to help Shadow for Tiffany's sake, Ekyt uses his abilities to purposely overload the machine. Shadow is then free to use his chaos energy to get Tiffany to safety. Maybe Tiffany has to convince Shadow to grab Ekyt on the way out, since Ekyt is unconscious from the explosion of the machine? Sonic Heroes definitely had it's good points. I liked the character models. The size was just right, the limbs were proportioned well. The game was fun to play, most of all! I loved Generations, though you're right about the voice acting. For me, the highlight was the 3D Sky Sanctuary level. That was so cool in 3D! 
That's true- everybody attacks Shadow the whole time. I wish I could have knocked Vector into space; he got so annoying after a while. I didn't like driving- it was faster to just skate.

Yeah, that could work! Tiffany sees Linda-Su chained up, next in line to be roboticized, and gets her free. Good idea!

Hmm...what about them being in a room where the power of the Chaos Emeralds are somehow blocked? That's one thing Ekyt and Shadow have in common- the ability to use emeralds. Given that Ekyt is a human and a guardian, I think he would be exposed to the chaos emerald enough to store a small amount of power in himself at any given time. But if we handicap them that way, they'd have to work together and be resourceful. Maybe they're dodging around Robotnik's base, both looking for Tiffany (who, since she's awesome, has already escaped). We'd need to dream up why Tiffany was there (some sort of probationary Freedom Fighters mission?, but then we can write about Tiffany and Linda-Su saving the boys.

I was thinking- instead of having Ekyt start out having Linda as his girlfriend, maybe they could somehow meet through Tiffany? 

Sonic Heroes had maybe the worst voice acting, though. Tails sounded like a 6 year old speed XD I liked the concept of it, but it came across as too...cartoony? That's not the right word, but it's the closest thing I can think of.
Yeah, that's a good point. All those bosses did get old quickly. I liked that you had a lot of areas to run, er, skate through without having to stop dead. I didn't mind him using a gun so much as how they had you control it. It alternated between being impossible to aim and being ridiculously easy to aim.

Do you want to go first and I'll match whatever you do with Tiffany's backstory? I can lengthen or condense Ekyt's story fairly easily (since his past will be investigated later on, most likely as part of a guardian test).

It'll be interesting to have two main characters in open conflict. Shadow and Sonic kind of get along now, but Ekyt and Shadow can have a good feud. It can lead to a storyline where they have no choice but to work together maybe.

I think I liked Knuckles because of the video games. I always had an easier time playing as him than any other character. As far as Shadow goes, I wasn't a fan at first, but now- absolutely! I actually enjoyed the Shadow video game, despite it getting low marks. I liked the concept, the music was awesome. The weapons and vehicles needed some work, but I loved the rest. 

That sounds good to me. Do you want to do like a two chapter introduction? I could always explain Ekyt's guardian training, and then do a chapter on how he and Linda-Su met or something.

No, it made total sense once you said it. You're right- he doesn't target the master emerald. I wanted to think up a way for Ekyt and Shadow to get along without either one being a bad guy for it, and I think this might work!

I was a big Knuckles fan when I was younger, so the echidna history always caught my attention. But you're right, it is definitely wordy!

So, I was thinking the way to go might be for us to each post a chapter talking about our character's back stories. Mine would be about Ekyt training to be a guardian, why he wants to do it, and his interest in Linda-Su.

Good point. Maybe it would be better to have it be an accident or something? For example, Shadow uses Chaos Control, but he hits a warp ring(?) or something, and that messes up his "flight path", and he winds up in the Chaos Chamber. Ekyt jumps him, thinking he's after the Master Emerald. They brawl, both score some hits before the fight gets broken up. Shadow makes some crack about Ekyt being only human or something, so now they both have a reason to be irritated.  Hmm...I think Shadow is more suited for the anti-hero than outright villain. 

I was thinking maybe the Dark Legion put the bounty on Julie-Su's head, since she defected from them. Maybe
Lien-Da wanted to punish her to show what happens when you disrespect the Dark Legion or something.

I think our ideas are definitely compatible! This is going to be fun!

Let's see...what if Shadow was to try to get near the Master Emerald for some reason? Maybe to use Chaos Control? Either way, Ekyt tells him "no way- no one goes near it". From there, it escalates into a fist fight, where both of them use the power of the Master Emerald (Being a human, Ekyt is compatible with the emerald in a different way than Sonic and the others).

As far as the wedding goes...how about maybe Nack the Weasel trying to kidnap Julie-Su (maybe we decide that she has a bounty on her head or something), and winds up taking Linda-Su?

I think we've got a winner here! I think the easiest way to get organized is to make bullet points of our respective ideas, then work out in detail how to tie them together :) This is what I've got:

-Robotnik defeats and captures Ekyt and Knuckles. Linda-Su escapes (maybe she could run into Tiffany here, and Tiffany could help take her away from the Floating Island?).

-Tiffany, Linda, Sonic and Sally counter-attack Robotnik and free Ekyt and Knuckles. They all escape Eggman and retreat to Knothole Village.

-Ekyt and Tiffany are met with distrust. This is where they sort of bond, and they agree to prove themselves to the Freedom Fighters by taking out Robotnik.

-Ekyt gets knighted by the Kingdom of Acorn (while Tiffany is named an honorary Freedom Fighter?)

So, maybe that's one arc. Then we get into including Shadow somehow (I'll leave that up to you). Which leads us to this arc:

-Ekyt is named a full guardian after years of training. The catch is that he has to be related, somehow, to one of the guardians. He doesn't know what to do about that.

-Ekyt proposes to Linda-Su, and the wedding starts getting planned. In the middle of that, Ekyt and Shadow(?) have a disagreement, and get into a fight.

-It's discovered by Knuckles that Linda-Su is related to one of the guardians from a few generations back. By marrying her, Ekyt is going to be allowed to be a guardian. Linda is vaguely worried that Ekyt is only marrying her for that reason. Tiffany reminds her that "Ekyt isn't like that".

-The wedding happens, and then it's crashed by (someone- insert here!).

Or something like that! I'm open to anything, really. Any ideas you've got would be great!

That's hysterical! That would be a riot!

What about something like this:

Robotnik attacks the Floating Island. Ekyt and Knuckles are overwhelmed and captured. Linda-Su escapes and goes to the Freedom Fighters for help. The Freedom Fighters are reluctant to leave their home unguarded, so Tiffany steps up and helps out, and brings Shadow with her. They rescue Ekyt and Knuckles. Knuckles has been unconscious from attempts to probe his mind or something; Shadow saves him. Tiffany saves Ekyt. They regroup with the Freedom Fighters. 

The nice thing is, Ekyt and Tiffany have something in common- neither of them are totally trusted by the Freedom Fighters. Ekyt has Princess Sally and Sonic on his side, but the others are reluctant to accept an "Overlander". Frustrated, he recruits Tiffany to help him take back the Floating Island. Shadow objects, and Tiffany ropes him into helping. They launch an attack, gain ground, and then are nearly defeated by (insert awesome enemies here). The Freedom Figthers show up, and Tiffany is gets accepted after they see her in battle. Meanwhile, Shadow and Ekyt try to bury the hatchet, but it leads to a fight. Tiffany breaks them up, and she has to pick a side (drama!).

Or something like that. That's kind of off the top of my head, but it kind of fits.

I had kind of a loose idea floating around in my head. In my old fic, Shadow and Ekyt were rivals. I was thinking it might be fun to have Tiffany try to get them on the same page- and maybe have her help plan Ekyt and Linda-Su's wedding or something? I'm up for any ideas you have!

I feel your pain -_-' I'll spend so long on a story that I'll forget some important detail. In Resident Evil, for example, I'll forget the character lost his knife and then have him stab an enemy. I keep catching that mistake. I don't learn! XD

I think that's probably why I've redone my Naruto stories so many times -_-'. I'll figure out an interesting storyline, kill off a character, then immediately regret it either out of guilt, or because I thought up a really cool idea that only fits that character. These ideas, of course, never occur to me before I kill the character off...

I usually try to compensate by giving that character their own one-shot fic, or write a new story that keeps them alive. I don't know if there's a word for fan fiction guilt...

I know what you mean. I have the worst time killing off characters, and an even harder time leaving them dead. I can find more ways to have a character come back to life, I swear...

I think my problem was that it seems too...final. I mean, I might really love the story, and I might see a good direction to take it in. I think I've figured out a good alternate ending that will balance "depressing" with "hope". Ideally, anyway!

I'll be honest: originally, I had this really depressing concept. Ekyt was going to be a boy from "our" world who was in a coma. Somehow he connected with Mobius while in a coma. After he woke up, he'd be beyond depressed since he'd been pulled away from a world that meant so much to him. Even more so when he was told he'd be wheelchair bound the rest of his life...

After I typed that, I thought "probably interesting artistically, but c'mon, it's Sonic!" So I scrapped that.

As far as his "disappearing", I think you'll be surprised where that goes :)

So far, the premise is that Ekyt (boy I haven't typed that name very often lately!) is disappearing. Only his mate, Linda-Su, knows. He keeps himself "tethered" to Mobius with power rings. Now, he's been contact by Princess Sally to defend against a Robotnik offensive.

Also, if you ever have the opportunity, I highly suggest playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.  Those two games are the best in the series :)

Ah, but that is what Hyrule Historia is for!  That book will pretty much fill you in on every Zelda game up to Skyward Sword.  It also provides a timeline that shows where every game is placed.  It's pretty cool, and it makes for an interesting read

Truth be told.  Everyone has called Link "Zelda" at least once by mistake.  Most people just won't admit it.  Ocarina of Time was my first game, and I named Link "Zelda", and then realized my mistake when I met Princess Zelda... I deleted the file and started all over.  lol

But yes, that book will tell you everything you need to know about the series :)

That's because the Legend IS about Zelda(Most of the time).  Link is just the hero who saves the day.  Ultimately, the story is about Zelda.  Skyward Sword pretty much explains why(I can tell you if you don't mind spoilers, but if you plan on playing it, I'll keep quiet).  But yeah.  When it comes down to it, the only reason Link even exists is to protect Zelda.

Haha, well that's cool  I have the same thing going for the legend of Zelda.  I could tell you nearly everything about that series,  Sorry to say, I don't watch TV that much, I'm more of a Youtuber myself.  But I did enjoy the Simpsons a bit before I got into Youtube.

Hey sup?

hey there hunny my advice on your bunny is to feed it kitten milk you can get it at petsmart and probably walmart. IT HAS TO BE THE FORMULA! regular "human milk" can kill the bunny in a very bad way! it will flood their systems with toxic fats from cows milk and will make their stomach explode incase you dont know how to feed it never ever flip them upside down. always hold him/her in a upright position and point the dropper down towards bottom or side of mouth, so if too much comes out, the baby does not aspirate. you might have to put a warm towel on his butt to help him pee if he has his eyes closed if he/she goes on their own dont bother. id feed him 2x a day for 5 minutes until he/her is weaned. *it should be weaned in about 6 weeks* his/her eyes should be open within a week or so. when you are putting him/her to bed make a nest with towels and cover the baby in the dark until his/her eyes open all the way. DONT provide extra heat like turning the thermostat up. it can kill the lil baby. if its a really cold night you can put a heating pad on the lowest setting under no more than half of the box for it. if it has plenty of fur then it most likely wont need the heating pad. it sounds like its about 2-3 weeks old i would start introducing it to timothy oats and hay pellets and water within the next few weeks you can feed him a small ammount of dark greens like carrot tops or small grated carrots *about a tablespoon or two* dandiloin greens are good always wash the greens before giving it to baby! hope this helps! good luck!

Well, I've been drawing, but nothing's quite ready yet. I've posted WAY too many fics, more than I should have time for XD With all the stress lately, I've just had more inspiration to write. I've got one fic going with the Japanese honorifics and jutsu names (After timeskip), another post time-skip one that starts out as a horror story, one where Ekyt is dying from a disease, and now the one I just posted, a timeskip one about EkytXSakura, more or less. So, lol, I've been busy.
