Shadowthe_hedgehogHuh. I'll have to keep that in mind if I need to buy a new tv.  You may be right about Microsoft; though I've heard rumors about Xbox becoming its own company so that they can focus on the games and hardware, but I don't know if that's true or not.  It was just a rumor I heard.  I actually think Sony will be fine.  They're still a fan favorite from the early Final Fantasy games, so, as long as there are FF fans out there, I don't think Playstation will ever go away. It would be interesting to see Microsoft work on PC gaming but... I think everyone likes Steam too much to bother with anything Microsoft tries to do.

I know, right?  Now you have to cling on to your job for dear life.  It gets exhausting.

Yeesh, really?  Wow, I think Best Buy needs to focus on getting their jobs organized.  I don't blame you for not wanting to take the job.  There was one job I quit because I couldn't handle the way they wanted me to handle customers.  I was a cashier at Party City, and part of my job was to blow up balloons for people. What bothered me so much about this job was that, if there was a line of people behind the person that bought balloons.  I was supposed to help all of those customers before I could blow up the balloons.  It was stupid, and I made that very clear when I quit.  It should be first come, first served, at least in my mind.

Oh, sorry, I didn't make that very clear.  My fic is going to use Dr. Eggman.  I just prefer to call him "Robotnik" because it sounds more intimidating.  That, and I don't ever plan on having Tiffany call him "Eggman".  She's either refer to him as "Doctor" or "Dr. Robotnik" in most situations.

nextguardianThe upside is that I wound up with a TV I really like, so it was a semi-blessing.  Good point about Sony, too. I've gotten more impressed with them, actually- it seems like they actually have bothered to learn their craft. They didn't make any of the mistakes that Microsoft and Nintendo made this generation, and they didn't price themselves out of the market like they did with the PS3.

You said it!

Wow, that really is dumb. If I'm the customer waiting an hour for six balloons, I'm ticked off and going to the drug store instead. Huh. I was once semi-fired because I refused to referee hockey the "wrong way". I always called penalties and enforced the rules; the players hated that and complained to the staff because the other refs were so lax. Thing is, there were less fights and injuries during the games I refereed. (I will admit, I was creative when I broke up fights. You ever see refs jump on top of a pile in a hockey game? I jumped as high as I could and came down elbow-first, lol)

You're okay; I ask because I want to make sure we're at the same place in the time line. That's a detail I think we should definitely agree on.

Shadowthe_hedgehogIt destroyed your tv?  I didn't know a game console could do that O_o  I've never had a plasma though, I have an HD LED, and game consoles don't affect it in any way.  It just makes old games look very pixelated.  As cool as that would be, I don't see Sega coming back any time soon.  They kind of ruined their own reputation, and the only company that still seems willing to work with them is Nintendo (how ironic)  Same can be said for Capcom... well Megaman anyway.  Nintendo seems much more interested in Megaman than Capcom does these days.  I'm not sure how weak microsoft is right now.  They have sold a lot of consoles, and seem to be somewhat redeeming themselves after that terrible E3 conference last year.  Though there is no argument that Sony is definitely doing a bit better than they are at the moment.

That's how I see it.  Working as a manager in a corporate owned business is very unwise, as your chances of moving up are very limited.  If you can get a job in management in some private owned company or something like that, you'd definitely be better off :)

Hehe, yeah :)

That's a good idea.  Kind of the best of both worlds :)  Good thinking.

It seems that every job has an unadvertised portion to it.  I remember having a conversation with my coworkers at KFC about how when we applied to be cashiers, we weren't applying to clean bathrooms or scrub floors or anything like that.  They should really put a list of responsibilities under the job you're applying for so you don't get stuck with jobs you didn't apply for.  But anyway, I'm glad to hear you're going back.  Hopefully you can find a decent job quickly :)

No problem :)

Shadowthe_hedgehog(UGH!  I just wrote out a full reply and when I went to post it, it said I wasn't logged in! Even though I was, so I just lost that entire post!  I hate FAC sometimes)
Yeah, that's definitely true.  My N64 and Gamecube still work like new.  But honestly, I think it's not really old vs. new in the case of consoles.  Microsoft and Sony have never made very durable consoles, they were always breakable,  Nintendo has never made a console that breaks easily.  I haven't even heard horror stories of the wii breaking down at any point unless it was done deliberately by someone.  Yeah, unfortunately some people are like that. I have a facebook account so they don't complain that I don't have one... they just get mad at me for not using it.

Management seems like it could be a very difficult position.  I know my managers always look worn out.  They're forced to stay overtime every single day if they want to keep their positions.  I would never go into management at my store.  Aw, you're too kind NG :)  I'm glad someone appreciates my work ethic.  God knows my coworkers don't >>'

LOL, Honestly, Tiffany's age won't be a real issue.  She may be over 50 years old, but in reality, she would have only spent about 6-8 years of her life... well... alive.  .... I'm not sure if that makes the situation better or worse to be honest... Either way, you get the point :)  Yeah, their relationship is going to be fun to write about.

I don't know/  I'm torn on what to do.  If Shadow worked for GUN, it would make him and Tiffany enemies to a point, since she's not willing to forgive GUN for what they're done, and would treat her brother as a traitor for working for them willingly.  But if we do that, we can't make him a villain or have him work for Dr. Eggman at any point, so that would limit what we can do with him.

Cool, hope it goes well :)

Really?  You're apologizing?  No, I'm sorry it's taking me so long to respond.  I've got a lot of projects I'm working on, so they're taking up a big chunk of my time.  So don't feel bad about your response time, you're fine.  Life happens.

Shadowthe_hedgehogTruthfully, they have the ability to make smart phones more durable, but they won't do it because they want you to break your phone and have to pay to get it fixed or replaced.  It's all about the money with them.  That's why I waited so long before I got my galaxy S3.  I have to admit though, online accessibility from anywhere is pretty nice!  I get ya.  It's so hard to tell people that you want to be left alone without them taking it the wrong way.

You're not afraid of giving bad news, and you think being encouraging is better than bossing people around?  Those two things right there would make you the perfect supervisor, NG.  I'm terrified of giving/receiving bad news, and I'm a bit short tempered and very sarcastic when I'm in a bad mood, so most people wouldn't like me if I was in charge.  Have you considered looking for a job in management?  It may not be a supervisor job, but it's a step toward it.
I see where you're coming from as far as good and bad deeds being grouped together goes.  I don't see it as much where I work because we're under a union.  Most of us have even met our corporate bosses, or at least someone right under them.  We're also rewarded/punished individually based on customer reviews and complaints, so we don't have to worry about getting in trouble for one of our coworkers not doing what they were supposed to do.

omg, I really like that idea!  I don't know why, but the thought of Ekyt being a "father figure" to Tiffany is absolutely hilarious and adorable to me!  I mean that in a very good way, by the way.  I think it's funny, because Tiffany's so independent, yet so naive at the same time, so having someone be overprotective of her when it comes to boys would just be adorably funny!  I don't know if that made sense at all...  Point being, it's a great idea :)  I'm really enjoying the connection these two are going to have.

Oh, btw, are we going to have Shadow work for GUN or should he be independent?  I feel like it could bring up an interesting point of conflict between Shadow and Tiffany, but I'm not sure if we want to go that direction with it.

Hey, there you go!  Don't over think what they say about "party schools".  Usually that stuff is restricted to the dorms, so as long as you're not living there, you should be fine.  I'd definitely say it's worth looking into :)

Shadowthe_hedgehogI can understand not wanting a smart phone. They're expensive and extremely fragile.  The only reason I have one is because I am a Youtube Creator and I need to be able to access my channels from anywhere.  Though I have to admit, smart phones do make texting much less of a chore.  Flip phones are nice, they definitely last.  I used to have one, and dropped it so many times I lost track.  It didn't break until I accidentally dropped it down three flights of metal stairs, and even then, it was still perfectly functional, the screen was just messed up.

Hehe, solid point.  It is cool that you got to work in a place like that :)  It's too bad they didn't offer you any room for advancement.  I imagine being a manager or something would be a pretty relaxing job.  Coworkers can definitely make any job more tolerable.  I probably would have gone insane by now at my job if it weren't for my coworkers.  Me? A supervisor?  That's nice of you to say, but I couldn't do it.  I don't like stressful jobs, and the last thing I want is to be in charge of other people.  When my boss put me in charge of the night crew, I told him I'm not cut out for leadership.  Unfortunately, due to my seniority, I don't have a choice >>'  Thankfully my coworkers are reliable enough that I don't really have to supervise them.  I just have to answer their questions.  You, on the other hand, would probably do really well as a supervisor.  You seem like the type of person who can take charge when the situation demands it.

That's a great idea!  It ties everything together quite well :)  The whole situation would start to break down Tiffany's barriers too.  Due to her past experiences with death, she would do everything within her power to make sure Ekyt got out of there alive.  That type of devotion toward someone she only recently met would most likely raise questions about her.  And when it comes down to them talking, it will really be a moment of realization for her that someone genuinely trusts her, and she doesn't have to be so closed off.

Geez, not very discreet are they?  I wouldn't give a single dime to a school like that.  I'd rather go to a more expensive school than a racist school.  You really could have pushed the issue.  It isn't right for a college to do that.

Shadowthe_hedgehogInstant messaging is like that for me.  I hate texting or sending messages on my phone though; especially if I'm having a full conversation with someone.  I hate the idea of wasting time writing everything out when I could just call them and talk to them.  I used to be like that when making phone calls.  That changed pretty quickly when I got my first job because I was forced to answer the phone.  Yeah, that's true; wearing certain clothes can give you more confidence.  Not sure why, it must be a psychological thing.  Weird, huh?

Cool. I'll take a look :)

Geez.  I couldn't work in an environment like that.  I like to know that my boss trusts me, so having rules that are too strict is an immediate turn off for me.  At my job, I never see my boss.  I'm "in charge" of night shift, and work hours that never overlap with his, but he trusts  me enough that he rarely feels the need to check on me.  I like to be trusted like that, it makes my job much less stressful.  I just have to keep up with what's expected of me and I'll be fine.  That really does sound frustrating.  Guess you guys had to be old fashioned and keep a watch on you, huh?  Yeah, I can see why undershirts wouldn't be preferred in that situation.  I work in a cooler most of the time, so I don't generally have to worry about being too hot.

Hehe, that would be fun :)  Tiffany would be on board with that, more for the sake of making sure he doesn't kill himself in the process of trying to take (insert enemy here) down than anything.

Ugh, that sounds terrible!  I'm sorry you have to put up with that.  Even if it seems minor, you would still think that they'd help you in some way or another.  I guess it's one of those things where if you don't have it, you can't understand it.  That's truly unfortunate.  Yeah, I figured as much.  racially biased schools are annoying.  I didn't pay enough attention to really be able to tell if my school is biased or not, but it never seemed to me like it was.

Cool, we can stick to that version of him then :)

Shadowthe_hedgehogHaha, It's not arrogant at all :)  I get what you mean. Speaking to others can be a real chore at times.  Having to focus on the person you're talking to and come up with something sensible to say can really be frustrating.  Most of my friends know that I don't think before I speak, so they know to be forgiving with me when I say something insulting or stupid.  I guess that's why I prefer to message people.  I have as much time as I need to come up with a decent response to what they say.  I don't know what it is with me and public speaking.  Even though I know the subject, I still get super nervous when everyone's attention is on me.  What makes it weird is that I can get on stage and act/say lines without a problem.  I think it's because I have more confidence in the character I'm playing as than I do in myself.  I will admit to having very little self-confidence.

Geez, that sounds like a really cool opportunity!  Too bad it fell through, but it's still cool you got to participate in it like that :)  I'm a bit envious, to tell you the truth!  I would love to be involved with a video game company!

Really?  That's dumb; they shouldn't stop you from buying food just because you're in uniform.  We don't have rules like that where I work, but most of us prefer to wear a shirt under our uniforms.  That way we can just take off the uniform shirt when we go to lunch and avoid having to talk to customers.  Yeah, they don't want us to keep our phones on us either, but it's not reinforced.  Mainly because there's no other way for us to keep track of time when we're on the floor,

Hehe, yep, someone's got to keep him in line.  It may as well be his girlfriend and a good friend :)  I figured there would be a few issues with him formerly being human; but I look forward to seeing their trust in him grow over time.

Ugh, I don't blame you there. school "politics" are the worst, and sometimes just aren't worth the time or stress. Pfft, I don't blame you, I would have some very unchristian words to say to them too if they turned me down for that reason.  I think having a functional family should be rewarded!  I can't say I know too much about anxiety, but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem fun to deal with.  It's really stupid they wouldn't take it into consideration just because it's not "visible".  ADHD isn't visible, yet everyone seems willing to help those people out!  And ADHD isn't even that bad!

Wow, what did they do to him!?  He seems like he was such a solid character before.  If you want to, I'm all for using this version of him instead for the story.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how their relationship develops

Shadowthe_hedgehogAw, don't take a situation like that to heart.  She was probably an introvert too, so it most likely didn't mean anything.  I know what you mean.  I can be socially awkward from time to time.  I mostly talk to weird quirky people.  If a person opens up to me first, then I don't have a hard time talking to them.  As far as public speaking goes.  I can't do it.  I always start shaking and get super nervous. Don't know why.  You're lucky that you have such an easy time with it.

You have a friend that's making the game?  That's awesome!  It'd be cool if they could make a couple changes before the final release.  I forgot about Sonic's arms being blue.  It ticked me off too when I saw him like that.  Yeah, I agree.  As long as the voice acting is good or decent.  I can handle cheesy dialogue and can tolerate poor writing as long as the VA is decent.

Wow, really?  It seems like at my job they want us to take shorter lunches.  I always take 30 though.  They like to squeeze everything out of us that they can get, so I won't give them the time of day.. We have lockers in my workspace.  We can bring anything we want with us, as long as it stays in our lockers until we're on break or lunch.  I get extra leeway because I work so late, and my boss put me in charge.   Ooh, I love Arby's!  I like my down time though, so I'll just buy food at the store instead of going to a restaurant.  I don't like feeling rushed.

I would say so!  It's gonna be fun!  Aw, it'll be nice to see something good happen to him for once!  Poor guy deserves it once in a while :)  Though I am ruining your dark plans of keeping him from being liked most of the time, because Tiffany will like him, and she'll enjoy being around him, so HA!

LOL, but yeah, that's unacceptable.  If I had a teacher like that, I would drop the class and ask for my money back.  I don't pay hard-earned cash to have someone blow me off like that.

Wait, what!?  He is?  I never knew that about Charmy, now I'm super curious!  erm... I never played Knuckles' Chaotix... just to make that clear.  I liked his voice in Sonic Heroes, I felt like he was supposed to be annoying, and I found it kinda cute!  Besides, I think his personality goes humorously well with Vector's, but I see why you dislike it.

Ah, that's true.  I was considering that myself.  I just wasn't sure how well their personalities would mesh.  But you make a good point with Bunnie being so friendly.  And having them spar would be cool.  Since Bunnie has a different fighting style than Sonic and Shadow, sparring with her would be pretty refreshing on Tiffany's part.

andr28aGot the impression that the battle had a lot of holding back.  Chiyoko for wanting/needing to die again and Ryofu for feeling somewhat guilty for having to kill her again.
Yuji hitting breaking point is always (For me) very interesting, as he seems to have many of them and all for various things.  But mostly it's what he does after each of his break points that make the story worth while as it can either cripple him or make him stronger, sometimes both.

I'll be hanging around in and around Tokyo city going to the parks, shrines and various other landmarks.  Also going to the Studio Ghibli museum as well as an anime studio, which one I don't know but it'll be exciting.

Shadowthe_hedgehogI've had that happen once or twice.  But usually when I plan on going somewhere, I look forward to it, and I'm happy I went afterward.  That's natural, we need sunlight to survive, though some need it less than others.  I'm one of those people.  I can stay indoors for days without being bothered from lack of sunlight... though I do go a bit stir crazy from lack of social interaction.

Yeah, I'm kinda curious about Sonic Boom.  I'm also nervous, though.  I'm okay with most of the designs. Tails looks cool, I like Amy's.  Sonic's was unnecessary.  And WTF happened to Knuckles?  Also, they don't need sports tape...  I saw a design for Shadow too, and I'm not sure if it's official or not, but it made me cringe!  I really hope it's not official.

We have forced lunch at my job too.  If you work 8 hours, you have to take a lunch.  I totally know where you're coming from.  When I'm on lunch, I don't want to talk to anybody.  I usually watch Youtube vids on my phone, or play with my 3DS.  It bugs me when one of my coworkers comes in and try to be social with me.  I know they're trying to be polite, but I'm not much of a conversationalist.  It is cool when people are inclusive like that though.  It makes them easier to get along with.

Hehe. this is going to be cool!  I look forward to these portions of the story :)  Ekyt's going to be such an interesting and nontraditional character!
I like the way this is going with Tiffany.  I need to make sure I balance out showing how awful she feels without making her act too dramatic over it... I have a bad habit of making characters over-dramatic haha.  Good time to work on that I suppose.

Yeah, that's definitely true.  I've never had that problem with any of my professors.  Most of them are pretty genuine, and are happy to teach and help you learn.  Though I do see a difference between Gen Ed professors, and professors who teach classes toward a certain type of degree.  I think gen ed professors are just tired of no one really caring about their classes, and just taking them because they have to.

I can totally see that happening!  The chaotix are going to be a riot.  I love how calmly Kurt will react to them.  I can just imagine him feeling all smug inside after proving Vector wrong about something.

Veru true.  Her friendship with Sally would open a window of opportunity for her, so that'd definitely be good.  Tiffany probably won't get too involved with many of the other freedom fighters.  She would enjoy the challenge Sonic offers her as far as speed and combat go, so they'd get along all right.  She secretly thinks Tails is adorable, but won't admit it, not even to Ekyt.  I can see her and Rotor having a very similar sense of humor sometimes.  I could actually see them becoming decent friends.  I see Antoine as being the one that trusts her the least, so she'd keep her distance from him... or play a prank on him at Rotor's suggestion... I could see that too.
