andr28aOkuden Chapter Comment;  If Chiyoko had lived longer, I wonder how the battle with Ryofu would have gone down.  And Yuji's repressed memories is making me wonder that maybe his own memory might be altered to hide something.  The mystery is very intriguing.

Sorry for replying late.  Been busy planning a trip to Japan.  Small details can't be overlooked, so many hurdles to jump over.
How you been doing?

Shadowthe_hedgehogI don't have to be so much motivated as I have to be in the mood to go out.  However, if I make plans, I usually look forward to them and don't bail out unless I have a good reason to.  As for going outside... I'm not big on going outdoors.  Though I do enjoy zoos and going for walks in the woods' but that's usually the extent of it.

Yeah, I got that vibe too.  It seemed like it could have carried on.  I kind of wish a different company would remake it without Chris.  The show had some potential.

I'm not too friendly myself, I just like to think that my coworkers and I are on the same side.  We have to deal with the same problems and the same customers, so we understand each-others pain.
Hehe, yeah, I would be uncomfortable with that too.  Though they probably meant well by it.

Ah, so he'll be the type to hit the books!  That's cool.  It'd be neat to see old, unused techniques in use!

Yeah, that will definitely make her more comfortable.  She'll appreciate him a lot for that.  Hehe, It's cute.  I love how open they are with each other :)

Yeah, I have to wonder how people come to enjoy college so much.  I guess it's those groups that make a hundred friends and go out partying all the time that enjoy it so much.  I enjoy it decently, but it gets tiring after a while.  Well, I hope it all goes well for you.  All you can do is hope for the best.

Oh, that's a good idea!  You're right, they always seem to rush into things without thinking.  It'd be good for them to have a strategist on their team.  ...At least, it will be if they actually pay attention to what he's saying.  I can see Vector trying to brush him off from time to time, only to find himself stuck, then turning to Kurt, looking for a plan.  Something tells me he and Espio will get along quite well though.

I would imagine so.  There's no way they've gone through this without losing a few people on the way.  Tiffany would feel for her, and they'd probably become decently good friends :)

Shadowthe_hedgehogI think so too.  Not that I'll turn down every invitation to go out, but on most occasions, I would rather be comfy at home than out doing something,

The main problem was that there wasn't really a sense of closure.  If they hadn't used that scene with Shadow at the end, it would have been fine to end the show, but they just kept us hanging, so it didn't work.  I can agree with you that the English version may have been the reason the show died so quickly though.

Hehe, I'm the 1% at my store that actually likes my boss most of the time.  Sometimes my coworkers like him, but most of the time, they think he's a jerk.  I guess he's just extra friendly toward me, because I don't see that part of him.  I honestly think that some people need someone to direct their frustration at.  so they look for every reason to dislike their supervisors.  That's what it seems like at my store, anyway.  For me, I want to make the best of the situation.  I don't know how long I'm going to be stuck with the people in my store, so I'm friendly toward all of my coworkers and supervisors so there's no drama.
.
Yeah, his fighting style alone will be enough to differentiate their powers.  The simple fact that he actually thinks before he attacks is what makes his fighting style so unique in comparison to Knuckles and Sonic.  Sonic's not the type to plan ahead, and Knuckles is too hot-headed to stop and think for the most part.

Tiffany would try to do the same for him.  She tends to look for the good in people, and she would definitely have uplifting things to say about Ekyt.  Yeah, I think making it a gradual thing would be for the best. Tiffany would start off telling Ekyt some of her story, but she would leave out certain details.  I don't want her to steal the spotlight during this scene, so it'd be better to bring the rest of her story back to attention at a later time.  Having to admit that she killed so many people on the ARK would not be easy for her, so she wouldn't bring it up at a time like this.   I could see the guilt she's going through becoming too much for her at some point though.  She would most likely pull Ekyt aside to talk about it, since he's the only person she feels she can trust.

I know; It can be overwhelming.  Technically, you can take whatever classes you want... you just won't get a degree out of it if you do it that way.  Definitely the most painful thing about going to college is seeing the hole in your wallet afterward.  That's why I can't bring myself to get my bachelor's degree.

:)
Cool!  That'll come together nicely.  btw, what role is Kurt going to play in the chaotix?  Just curious :)

Yeah, I can see them earning each-other's respect.  The word "Princess" virtually has no meaning to Tiffany, so she wouldn't treat her any different than she treats the others. Her respect for Sally would come from seeing how hard she works, and that she genuinely wants to protect everyone.

Shadowthe_hedgehogI hear ya.  My family always tries to tell me that I'm wasting my life by not going out and doing stuff.  I would much rather sit down and play a video game or watch videos on Youtube than go anywhere.  I'm fine with doing stuff, but I don't want to go by myself, and my friends are all busy when I have time off.  I don't think we can communicate our personality types to people, NG.  It's like they can't understand how someone can prefer to stay home rather than go out drinking or partying!

Yeah, that was the least threatening version of Eggman yet.  It was very disappointing.  At first I couldn't get into the space arc, but curiosity got to me after a while.  I kind of appreciate how threatening that alien group wound up being, and that they were actually intelligent creatures.  But I hate how the finale keeps you hanging.  If you didn't see it, Sonic and Shadow had to destroy a planet egg, but at the last second, Shadow punches Sonic in the stomach and sends him back to the others before taking off his inhibitor rings and destroying it himself... disappearing completely afterward...  Yep, that's how they left it.  It switches back to Sonic and the others, and the fact that they had to kill Cosmo completely overshadowed Shadow's possible death.  ...I hate that show sometimes >.>
Alright, I'll look into it.  It sounds entertaining :)

Yeah, it is.  She sounds pretty annoying.

I'm not saying my supervisor is decent.  He likes me, so I can pretty much do and request anything I want.  If you asked my coworkers, most of them would call him an unkind name.  ,,,He has his good moments and bad moments.   Ugh, I hate it when supervisors do that.  You would think they would understand the meaning of availability.  I'm grateful that most of my bosses never did that unless it was an emergency.
That's cool!  Lucky her, that will definitely look good on her resume.

I see.  In the case of this being a story about our OCs, I don't think you'll have to worry about him overshadowing the others.  I think everyone will get their time to shine in this story, and there's nothing wrong with bringing attention to your characters :)  But I see what you're saying.  You want to make Ekyt more of a strategist and let Knuckles be the one that just rushes into the fray without thinking.  That would make sense.  It is sad to see someone work so hard to reach a goal that seems impossibly out of range for them, so I can see him getting pitied for that.

I think so too :)  I just hope I can translate it well into writing.  Ah, I see!  So their pasts would just be shown through them simply telling it to each other.  I can see that.  I don't think Tiffany would just start talking about her past though, especially if Ekyt needed someone to talk to about his.  She wouldn't feel like it's appropriate to bring it up unless he urged her to.  But she would definitely be more willing to talk about it after Ekyt shows that he trusts her enough to talk about his own.
Hehe, yeah, they do get mixed up with non-hyphenated names, so you don't notice them that much until you see them in a list.  I like Lia-Na.  I think that will work just fine :)

Either that or she passed her computer class by the skin of her teeth.
Never taken accounting, and hopefully never will, especially if it's anything like Stats.  ugh.  Anyway.  Good luck to you, you'll definitely need it.

Yep, it's all too true.  I'm just glad there are still a handful of gentlemen out there.  Guys like yourself can be pretty hard to find.
I'm glad you agree.  They really do seem like they're going to get along well.  It's cool how alike Tiffany and Ekyt are.
Hmm... both sound interesting.  On one hand, it would be a really good learning experience for Ekyt to attempt to save his life, but on the other hand, having a chaos syphon involved would be awesome too...  I would say have Ekyt save him, that way they can still be involved with each other, despite us taking out the adoption thing.  That's what I would do,anyway.

Yeah, that would work out well :)  Good thinking!  That could definitely be an interesting encounter too.

Shadowthe_hedgehogYep, same here.  I'm always afraid my quirks will scare people off.  My personality can be a little bit overbearing.  I'm usually either very quiet and introverted, or very loud and obnoxious.  There is no in-between for me; at least not that I've noticed.  Not to mention I can become obsessive over a video game or story.  I think before I start dating, I want to experience living by myself.  Right now, I'm living with my parents, who are being generous enough not to charge me rent at least until I pay off my schooling.  I just want to know what it's like living alone.

Ugh, I know!  Chris was the most annoying human character I've ever seen!  I liked Uncle Chuck(even if they did totally steal that name from the comics/cartoons), and even Mr. Tanaka a little, but every fiber of my being hated Chris!
NCIS is by far my favorite show.  And strangely enough, Tony is my favorite character.  Him and Zeva, anyway.  I'm so sad she left the show!  Hehe, the Janitor in Scrubs is hilarious!  I've never seen The Middle, but if it's funny, I'll look into it.  I'm always tracking down comedy shows.

Exactly.  Though, to be fair on her side.  Cream is only six, so I guess we can't expect that much from her.  She needs to grow up.

Yeah, I consider myself fortunate for being "transferred".  Since Prepack is a part of the Meat and Seafood department, all I had to do was ask my supervisor to let me shift responsibilities.  Thankfully, he likes me, so he was fine with it.  Sorry it didn't work out for you at the museum though.  Paperwork sounds like a more active job than just being a socializer.  It's cool that your friend started an internship there too.  What's he doing there exactly?

I always felt like it was the only way to describe Ekyt.  He's a fighter.  Somehow I've always seen Ekyt being more involved in the action rather than being behind the scenes.  That's how you've always portrayed him, anyway.  It'd be an interesting shift.  I know, I like to make characters who are pitied by others too.  You seem to pull it off especially well with Ekyt.  I'm sure the situations we put him in will make everyone somewhat worried about him.

I think with Tiffany, I want most of the characters to be unsure of whether they should feel bad for her or not.  Since she doesn't give much away about herself, most of them wouldn't know what to think, and most of them probably wouldn't trust her at all.  Narrating the story that way?  Like, the whole story, or just when they're explaining their pasts to each other? Sorry, I just want to be clear.  I really like the idea of Tiffany and Ekyt getting along so well.  I can see a real brother-sister relationship forming there, and it would bring them to rely on each other a lot.  I feel like they would understand each other in a way no one else really could because of what they've gone through; it'd be really sweet.
Well, going back to how little I know, I looked up a bit about the family you mentioned, and it looks interesting!  For the sake of not sounding like an idiot when writing about her, I'll either avoid bringing her in until I know enough about them, or have her be unaware of her family's lineage.  Also, for the sake of tradition, I should probably change her name to Li-Ana, or Ana-Li; since every female echidna's name seems to be spelled like that... how did I not know this!?!?

Oh geez, that's awful!  I hate it when teachers are like that!  Well I hope you at least walked away from that class with something.  It really blows my mind when people try to learn how to use a program without having even the most basic knowledge on how to use a computer.  Wouldn't it be better if they just took a basic computer class rather than a complicated Adobe class?  I just don't get it.
Ohhh, well if that's the case, you really should take Statistics again.  I know you struggled with it the first time, but if you need it eventually, you might just want to get it out of the way now; even if you don't plan on getting your business degree until later.

Hey, that's a really good personality trait to have :)  Girls look for guys like that.  It means that they can get all cuddly and not feel like they're overwhelming you.  I love the idea of a couple taking on the world together.  That's the way it should be.  But it seems a lot of people forget that.
Hehe; I wanted to say it wouldn't be that big of a transition, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that's not the case.  She's not used to affection, so going from a "Don't touch" character to a "somewhat cuddly" character would be a huge transition.  Most likely it'd start after she and Ekyt talk.  That would make the most sense in my mind.  Then she would start to open up more once she meets Kurt and starts getting to know him.
Yeah, I was wondering how we were going to pull him in.  I figured that, after some time, we would just do a time lapse and bring him in later; but I really like the idea of him being a member of the Chaotix.  You're right; he would fit right in!  How do you plan on turning him into a living chaos emerald again though?

That's what I was thinking, honestly.  I think making her a night watch of sorts would be the best role from her.  I figure her senses and instincts would be honed well enough that when she needs to sleep, she'll be able to sense danger.  Most likely she wouldn't sleep until the sun starts to come up though, just to be safe  I'm not sure how much rest an Ultimate Life Form needs, but I'd imagine she and Shadow wouldn't need as much as anyone else, so I figure 2-3 hours would be plenty for her.  ... wow I'm detail oriented... sorry about that.

I did reply to your PM, by the way.

Shadowthe_hedgehog on
Shadowthe_hedgehogI'm right there with ya.  I want to make sure I've reached a certain level of maturity before I start to include someone else in my life.  There's no point in dating before you're ready.
I'm not actually into cartoon shows all that much.  But I usually prefer an animated movie to a live action movie.  I know about Psych, though I don't care for it, but I've never heard of the other two.  The shows I watch are NCIS, Scrubs, The Office, and occasionally, Once Upon a Time.  For animated shows; Family Guy, Phineas and Ferb, and Regular Show.  Sometimes I'll even go back and watch Sonic X... Japanese, not English.  The English version was awful!
I wouldn't say that guys are the only ones that are "sex obsessed".  Girls can be too.  Strangely enough, my best friend makes the most perverted jokes out of anyone I know.  In reality, she's super shy around people, but when she and I are hanging out on our own, she becomes a whole other person.  It's hilarious!  I'm cool with it too, because we usually get a good laugh out of it.  But anyway.  You're not boring, NG, it's wise to be financially prepared.  Most divorces happen because of financial issues, so I don't blame you one bit.

I have three workbooks and a dictionary, so I think I'm all right.  ...I just need to remember where I put them  >_<'

Yeah, Cream is very obnoxious.  I think it's because she doesn't have any real purpose.  She's just there.  If she wasn't so innocent and actually tried to be helpful, then I wouldn't mind her nearly as much.  I hate useless characters!

Hehe, I know how that goes.  Thinking about it, I would go stir crazy with your job!  Before I was stocking shelves, I worked in the Seafood dept.  When I ran out of stuff to do, I would have to stand by the counter and try to convince people to buy something just to keep me occupied.  I was way too active for that department.  I kept trying to run off and do chores for meat and packaged meat; which left the service case unmanned.  So when the packaged meat guy quit (he didn't like our boss), I asked to have his job so that I could be consistently active.  Worked out pretty well in my opinion.

I never took Ekyt for being a rebel.  He just seemed to be a fighter to me.  And he earned a lot of respect from the others.  I can see how trying to balance out his character can be difficult though.  It can be difficult to make make a serious, block-headed character come off as nice.  Though I thought you had it down pretty well in your stories.

I think it's the first time I've brought up the secrecy of her story to you, so you're good.  I just figure it wouldn't be wise of her to share too much about herself to begin with.  I like stories like that too, so it's fun to incorporate it into my own characters' stories.  Tiffany's backstory is pretty dark, so what will probably have to happen is someone will have to get close enough to her that she's willing to talk about it with them.  Either that, or Shadow would push her to tell at least one of them the truth.  He knows that she is potentially dangerous, so he would warn her that if they truly are her friends, then she shouldn't hide what she is from them.
I agree!  I like seeing a character change over time.  Yeah, I want Liana to be a reliable character.  She's not a fighter, but she'll do what she can to help.   She's very approachable, so yeah, Ekyt could easily talk to her about Linda-Su.  She enjoys listening to people, so she'd be happy to help him sort out his feelings.  It occurs to me, I need to decide how to bring her in.  You know the echidna lineage better than I do.  Would there be a family she could fit well into?   Maybe I just won't go into details about her family and just keep her identity a bit of a mystery.

I kept my book from my photoshop class. It was really fun to learn how to use layers and masks and stuff.  Not to mention it was incredibly useful.  If you have the chance, you should try to take a college course on it.  If you're having trouble remembering how to do stuff, you should just write down the steps in a notepad or on sticky notes so you can just come back to them when you need to remember something.
Hehe, I take it math isn't your thing.  I get why there is so much to statistics, but it can be a bit of a headache.  I don't like finding out the odds of a pair of dice landing on a six and a one four times in a row.  Yeah, it doesn't help if your professor isn't very helpful.  General Math is a wise choice.  The only reason I didn't take it was because my councilor told me I wouldn't learn anything new from that class.  I shouldn't have listened to her.

That'd be cute :)  I like how you're willing to get into the mushy romantic stuff once in a while, NG.  Most guys I know don't seem into that.  You just make Ekyt and Linda-Su so adorable!  ... I think I'm gonna have to soften Tiffany up a bit later on so Kurt can be more romantic with her if he wants to be.
Hmm... I haven't actually thought about Tiffany's living situation.  I don't really see her settling down in a house or anything quite yet.  She's more of the type to just take a nap in a tree, rather than curl up in a warm bed.  Besides, she's trying to avoid GUN, so she wouldn't want to go back to the same place all the time.

Shadowthe_hedgehog on
Shadowthe_hedgehogCool, I replied to it.

Maybe, maybe not. On one hand, she is working around a lot of sick people, but on the other hand, she probably has really good health benefits and knows how to help cure illnesses better than anyone.  Just saying, dating a nurse wouldn't be that bad imho.
That sure is what it seems like.  I never watched sitcoms as a kid though, so that never wore off on me.  I always was(and still am) into cartoons more than sitcoms.  That may have been for the better.  The idea of fitting in never appealed to me.  Especially when it comes to sex.  Honestly, I see where you're coming from.  I get super awkward when people around me start talking about who they had sex with, and I usually change the subject.  It's just weird how open some people are about it.  Thankfully, my friend isn't THAT into it.  He'll make innuendos once in a while, but not very often.

I learn better from writing things down.  So I'll probably use one anyway for my own practice.

Yeah, I think so.  Though Sonic X got its own spin-off comic.  I don't mind Cream's presence, I just wish they didn't focus on her nearly as much.  She's not that important.
Well that's good then.  Half the reason I don't like talking to customers is because I'm afraid they're going to be rude or mean.  It's so nice when people are openly friendly like that!  I'm not surprised you ran into so many friendly people there.  People usually go to museums for fun, so they're already in a good mood when they get there :)  Then there are those people that are determined to put you in a better mood, like you said.  They're hilarious, but can be really annoying.  I'm a busy body at work, so if someone starts trying to get me to chat while I'm working, I tend to get aggravated.

That's an amusing way to put it.  But I see what you're saying.  That's one of the more interesting personalities to work with.  It'll be cool to see how it plays out :)

thanks, but I don't think I'll use it for the beginning.  I really want to emphasize how sparingly she relies on that power, so it would need to be a really serious situation for her to use it.  Besides, she won't want to give too much about herself away in the beginning.  Sure, it'll be obvious by appearance that she's related to Shadow. but she'd probably avoid talking about herself too much.  Especially when it comes down to details about her being an unfinished prototype.  Mainly, she'll doesn't want to make anyone afraid of her.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  Maybe I'll have her start off as a quiet, shy character, and slowly develop her into a more interesting and cool character.  Meeting so many people during her travels will be really helpful too.  She'll hear other people's stories, which will lead her to look for ways to be more helpful to those around her.  Well, once you get past the shy part, yes, she's willing to be friends with almost anyone.  She loves to listen to people, so she enjoys having lots of friends.

I know!  Titles are so misleading in college!  I needed an extra art-based course in order to get a degree, so I thought I would just take a Photoshop class.  Nope.  Didn't count. Even though it was a digital art course!  Though I am glad I took that class.  I learned so much!  I just barely passed statistics.  That class was awful!  Calculus would be even worse.  You should probably just take that general math course.  It would be the easiest out of your options; unless you feel like you could do better your second time around on Statistics.

I can see that :)  It'd be perfect for him and his abilites.  Good thinking!

Shadowthe_hedgehogWhat the...?  I'm so sorry NG!  I replied the other day, but it didn't go through!  I noticed it this morning, but didn't have time to repost it, so sorry it took so long.

Wow, that's a coincidence isn't it :)  But it was probably wise of you not to ask her out in that situation.  Though you could always try going back and asking her out without your dad being around... as long as you don't make it creepy, anyway.
Nah, he's the type of guy that can get any girl he wants, so I don't think I could sway him too much..  He's cute and fun, but I don't think we could ever be more than friends.  I'm okay with that.

Sweet!  Thanks for helping me out on this :D  I don't have a Japanese font installed, but I can get one.

I think at the time they were trying to keep up with the games, so they introduced the characters in their "game segments".  Such as Sonic Heroes, where both Cream and Big were supposed to be there for the story.  Granted, the comic would be just fine without them, but I can at least see what they were trying to do.  As far as Marine goes... I get way too much amusement out of watching Shadow slap her in the face with a towel...  if there was one reason I was happy she showed up in the comics, that would be it.

Agreed.  I don't feel satisfied with having money unless I know I earned it myself.

That sounds nice!  The constant change of scenery must have been so refreshing!  Honestly, I couldn't handle being moved around with my job because I am ridiculously OCD when it comes to organization; but a job like yours would be very easy and fun to move around in :)
Your job sounds relaxing.  But I don't think I could do it.  I don't like people enough to be friendly toward everyone.  I think I'm happier organizing boxes in a cooler than I could ever be standing around talking to customers.  It's cool that you enjoyed it though :)  It's especially cool that you keep in touch with your old coworkers too.  When I worked at KFC(worst job ever), every Friday we'd go bowling after work.  It was awesome!  I miss those guys sometimes :)

Haha, you should just draw it for the satisfaction of it :)

I'm not sure I would label Ekyt a "typical teenage boy"  And by that I mean, he doesn't eat all the time, and he doesn't seem to get a kick out of doing something just because it is potentially dangerous. I'm stereotyping a bit here, I know, but I had friends like that when I was a teenager... my friends were idiots.  Anyway, back on topic.  From what I've read, I've always interpreted Ekyt as being mature in most situations.  And that's a good thing; especially when it comes to love.  :)

Thanks!  It was one of my ways of making her different from Shadow.  And since she's a prototype, it would only make sense for her to have a couple of "failed" powers that were not passed on to Shadow.  Such as the force field ability I gave her.  She can make a really powerful force field, but it drains her stamina fast.  Even using it for a few seconds can bring her to her knees.  Though, it could come in useful if someone's life is in danger or something.  But for the most part, she'd have to avoid using it.
That was my main fear, actually.  I didn't want to make her too much like Cream or Tikal, but I needed her to be gentle and kind in context of my story.  I can probably change her personality up a little bit now though.  I was actually thinking about making her a nurse, but I like your idea better.  It will give her more purpose in the story.  She'll still be proficient in the medical field though, so she can help people who need it when she encounters them.  I don't want her to be a burden, so she'll be able to defend herself.  She won't be very strong, but she'll know how to get herself and others to safety.

Yeah, I'm not sure how college used to be, but I imagine it was more like what an internship is now.  You would work directly with someone that was a professional in a certain field, and they would teach you exactly what you needed to know, without adding a bunch of useless junk you'd never think about again.

As for your idea.  That's actually a really cool power to have!  It's really unique, and it would come in handy in so many situations.  I say, go for it :)

I like the idea of his home being off on its own in a hidden place.  That seems like the type of place Ekyt would live.  And it seems like it would be very pretty.  The type of place he could go and just relax.  Good idea!

Shadowthe_hedgehog on
Shadowthe_hedgehogYeah, It's too bad the opportunity never came up for you.  It's nice to meet someone who has some things in common with you.  But I know where you're coming from.  It takes a lot for a guy to get my attention too.  I can only think of one person that actually caught my eye.  I used to work with him, and we still hang out from time to time.  He's a social butterfly and doesn't feel complete unless he's out doing something every day of the week.  His activeness rubs off on me and gets me out of the house more often; which is good.  Unfortunately, he doesn't share the same views on sex as I do, so I won't ask him out.  It's too bad too, because he had a lot going for him.
Exactly.  That's what sex should be; the ultimate sign of trust.  Not something to do just because it's fun.

Oh, could you?  That'd be great!  Mainly what I need is someone I can practice having conversations with in Japanese.  That would be incredibly helpful to me :)  I understand sentence structure for the most part, there are just times where I get confused.
That seems to be happening quite a bit, actually.  Community colleges try to offer Japanese, but then discontinue the course.  I think my school stopped offering it too right after I finished my class.  I guess the professor couldn't get enough students to take the course.

You're right.  I think it gets tiring having tons of new characters pop up.  I'd rather see the older characters be developed more rather than trying to fill space by making tons of useless characters.

I was in the same situation originally.  I was planning on leaving my first job, but my boss asked me to stay a while longer.  The second job didn't work out, so it was good that I stayed.  Yeah, it was dumb of me to try to keep both jobs though.  My health definitely did not benefit from it.  I'm never going to let my life get that busy again.

I'm not sure how different the jobs are at a museum, but I think I can understand why there wouldn't be very much cross training.  It seems like the type of place where the jobs are usually pretty specific.  At my store you're either stocking shelves, cashiering, unloading a truck, or running a service counter.  So there isn't much variety.  Cross training happens a lot.  They usually call people from other departments up to the front to run a cash register on a daily basis.  They're not allowed to with my department, luckily.
So was that your job then?  Or was that just something you were doing to help out?  It sounds more interesting than mindlessly putting boxes on a shelf for hours on end.

Pfft, oh dear.  yeah, THAT would be weird XD  Ah, you make me laugh, NG

I figured as much.  It just seemed that in that situation they would be very alike.  It's cute how neither of them want attention.

I always appreciate input :)  I already have Tiffany's powers sorted out, I wasn't worried about that.  It's more of her personality that I've been having trouble with.  I wanted her to be interesting without outshining her brother.  But I think I may have sorted out her personality a bit more now.  I thought about it a lot while I was working last night, and think my idea's becoming clearer.  So yeah, back to writing.  I like your suggestion on having her powers compliment Shadow's, but since she's a prototype, it wouldn't really work.  She was supposed to be used to simply test DNA samples before they were used on Shadow, so their powers are virtually identical.  I gave Tiffany a couple extra "glitchy" powers,  Those powers have massive drawbacks, so she can barely use them at all.
I'm actually thinking about bringing another character in later.  I created her originally as a test subject on the ARK, but I decided against using that idea.  However, I still like her design a lot, so I want to re-purpose her.  Her name's Liana  She's a light brown echidna with white tips on her quills.  She's quiet and shy, dislikes violence, and has a longing to help people.  She was originally going to be Tiffany's best friend, and was actually going to be the character that I mentioned before who was supposed to die.  I think I'll still make her and Tiffany close friends.  Though aside from that, I don't know what I'm going to use her for.  If you have any suggestions, I'd welcome them :)

Yep.  That's how it is, unfortunately.  If you want a degree, you have to take a ton of unnecessary classes to get it.  College is stupid >:(

Shadowthe_hedgehogAw, that's cute NG :)  I would say she probably wasn't the one for you, since the right opportunity never opened up for you to tell her how you felt.  Give it some time, there are a LOT of fish in the sea.  I'm totally with you on the sanctity of marriage.  I don't get why it's cool to have sex whenever you feel like it with whomever you want.  It just takes away some of the importance of marriage for me.

Yikes!  I would drop out too if my bill was that big.  It's really cool that she was willing to tutor you though.  It seems like it worked out very nicely for you :)  I was fortunate that my class only cost about $350; but I attend a community college, so all classes there are cheap.  If I had the time and money I would hire a tutor to help me learn; but I'm saving up to pay off my student loan right now, so I can't afford it.  But it's fine, I enjoy learning it on my own anyway.  I already know how to pronounce everything, I just need to work on sentence structure and learning new words.

Geez, I had no idea any of this was going on.  I haven't followed anything archie's done recently; so it's all news to me.  I think it's time for their editor to retire though.  90 years, geez.  I wouldn't want to work into my nineties.  And it seriously doesn't help that they're trying to tale control of someone else's characters.  That's not cool.  If he created them, he should have a say in what's being done with them.  Ugh, there's a reason I don't want to work for someone as an artist.  There's always going to be that pesky copyright issue.  "You created them, but you made them for our use, so it's ours, not yours"  I hate that argument.

Two jobs and one was third shift!?  Are you insane!?  Oh my gosh, I couldn't imagine trying to live on that schedule.  I do not envy you.  I suppose I can't complain much about my sleeping schedule because at the time, I wasn't attending classes, and that was my only job.  It was just a pain the way they wanted to go about doing it.  I actually confronted my manager about it; trying to get her to let me just work one whole week of third shift.  But she didn't let me, because she still wanted me to do my regular job most days of the week.  So, my sleep suffered rather than my work.  I swear, if they try to make me do that again this summer....  Anyway; rant aside.  I suppose we all have our ambitious moments from time to time.  At one point I did try to work two jobs while attending high school.  Big mistake.  Luckily, my second job wasn't able to provide me with many(if any) hours; so I just wound up quitting.

Oh, that would make sense.  It's still weird though.
Hehe, I know, I'm not really responsible for cleaning; that's the janitor's job.  I'm in charge of stocking, organizing, and maintaining packaged meat.  On slow days, I usually wind up counting everything on my carts and hunting for close-dated product to mark down to a cheaper price.  I hate mark downs; but they're time consuming and give me something to do, so I can't complain.  Honestly, if I could, I would go help out some of the other departments in our store; but because I work in meat, I'm not allowed to.  Weird union stuff gets in the way of that.

I think what you did with him works.  It balances out well, and he doesn't look like some weird freaky mutant or anything.  I think you got just the right amount of human-like features, if you add any more, he may start looking kinda silly.
Oh wow, I didn't even think about how weird it would be for Ekyt when he has to switch from wearing clothes all the time to being naked most of the time  That's a hilarious scenario!  Considering he has fur.  I think that wearing regular clothes would automatically make him feel like he was wearing two layers of clothing.  The heat would be unbearable in most situations.  Especially when he's fighting.  Good call on just having him clothed during formal occasions.

You give me too much credit, NG.  I'm not sure how "capable" a girl who never wears a dress unless she absolutely has to is, but thanks for the confidence :)  I should be able to come up with something half-way decent.  Actually; as far as colors go, white is fine, as long as the dress isn't too fancy, or is complimented with another color or highlight. Black is worn by women for many occasions, not just funerals.  It all just depends on the style of the dress.  I completely agree with you on one thing though.  Pink is a no go for her.  I also think I'll stay away from black in the design, mainly because it would be too big of a contrast with her fur color.  I could see her wearing white or maybe tan with emerald highlights.  I'll play with some other colors a bit though.
I could see that happening very well.  It's so funny that they're so much alike when it comes to that situation, but neither of them really notices the other.  It's cute!

Ah, I don't mind.  You have more to talk about than I do.  Honestly, there isn't much to discuss with Tiffany.  That and I'm still trying to flesh her out.  I don't know why, but I'm having the hardest time just trying to flesh her out in my own mind.  I don't know, I may just be over-thinking it.  I think it's just hard to know what to do with her because I don't want her to overshadow her brother.  I don't like making OCs that steal attention away from main characters too much, and since I made Tiffany Shadow's sister, I have to tread lightly,,, or I feel like I have to, anyway.  I'm starting to think I shouldn't even worry about it, because; in retrospect, Shadow is a brick wall.  So trying to make Tiffany even more so just isn't going to work. Geez, listen to me ramble.  To heck with it!  This is a story mostly about our OCs, so I should just let her take the spotlight for a little bit.  I develop characters better when I can focus on them alone anyway, and this first chapter should be the perfect opportunity for me to do something awesome with her!  ...Now I just need to stop being so indecisive.
Anyway, just so you know, I haven't been neglecting the story, I'm writing it, it's just moving along very slowly.  Again, because I'm indecisive.  Sorry it's taking so long.  Like I said, I haven't written anything for anyone else to read in a long time, so I just want what I wright to be decent before I post it.

I'm like that too.  I want what I learn to be useful immediately.  And unfortunately, as an artist, that doesn't always work.  It takes patience to become good, and that's just something I don't have when I need it.  But yeah, we are way too overeducated.  I just want to take what I can use and use it.  Not take what universities say I need and then only wind up using a handful of that knowledge.
