hey there, friendo! you're probably never gonna see this lol but i just wanted to let you know how much you inspired me when i was starting out in art. i'd like to think i'm much better at it now than when i started and that's largely thanks to how you inspired me to keep going, even though my work was obviously sub-par. i'm far from perfect at it even now but thanks to you and other friends on here, i never gave up.

Wow. I never thought you would've left. You helped me continue on drawing even though I wasn't really good. I was really young at the time(like 9-10). Now I am older (18) and Waaay better. I even remember a silly art trade we did years ago. You drew Zakuro from TMM and I drew an OC

You really loved drawing. You were a humorous, optimistic, talented person who constantly perservered. You began as a fairly gifted artist and rose to a level of mastery that I will always aspire to be. You even went from a regular mem to a site helper?! I wish I was there to congratulate you. That upgrade proves you were so helpful to the users and the site. I really want to thank you for all you've done.

I check on FA rarely to see the place where I began as an artist. I was surprised to see you gone. Anyway, have fun with real life! I will always remember you!

No, actually, I have not! I do not draw many "furry"-like pictures, so my style/wants do not go towards that website much, but I do know really good furry art goes there sometimes!

Ask Strata! It is strange that your account's text box is freaking out for almost everything. Unfortunately, I do not have the tools to look into your account issues/codes directly, but Strata may. You could say it may be a bug.

Do you know if there's anyone here who can help me figure out why I can't delete any of my profiles???
I've tried many times to delete this one, plus the other 2 and Strata nor Battou have been on lately.

When you go to your profile, under "My Settings," there will be a "Delete My Account" option. You can manually delete your account without having to notify a site helper.

yes, that is the problem. I have hit the "Delete my account" option many times and then the profile is still there.

So I just tried to make a mock account, delete it, and see if I could log into it. At fist, I could still log into it. However, after logging off for a long time and then coming back to log in, it  said that the account was "deleted." 

Try this solution. Log off your FAC account completely, and go do something else. Just do not log into FAC. Wait for a bit and then try logging in again. If it works, you should not be able to log back in because it says your "account has been deleted." 

Hopefully, I do not see a reply from you. That means your account is still working.

In regards to the Cat Pheral Contest, I have a totally biased opinion on the one best-suited for the logo.  Fudgemintguardian's seems to be the most logo-like.  The others are certainly adorable, but the black-and-white cat stands out for me.  It would be easiest to render as a patch, if that ever becomes an option, and it stands out without being overwhelming.  I guess it depends whether you want to go for cutesy or awesome.  It also shows what can be done without using computers to draw or color.

I have noticed an increasing tread of these approval panel turn-ups. Either it is a bug, or there is a chance that if you do not submit after a LONG time, Strata/Denis made it so that you must only A LITTLE BIT prove you still know the FAC submission rules. Afterwards, your auto-approve returns almost immediately (that is the trend I have noticed; I will ask Strata). 

However, there are instant go-to-approval-panel triggers like making the picture too big or putting it in a "monitored" category like "Series Not Listed" (to see if we need to make a new category or you just could not find the category). 

The simplest explanation would be submitting to a monitored category. "Games > Other Not Listed" (along with several other "Not Listed" type categories) are currently set to require stricter (or mandatory) staff approval. -Strata

I have affirmed with Stratadrake that it is because you submitted to a "monitored" category.

Surprisingly, not enough people have submitted to Minecraft to give it its own category.

I'd have to say yes; it is does not load instantaneously like the others; I can't leave a comment til it fully loads, (I see you are aware of that); but it only takes around 10-20 seconds for it to completely load in order to leave a comment.

I just wanted to let you know that on friday July the 26 I had a painting of mine sold instantly at UMAR's art show at their church sales, ( The church there is enormous & rather decorative & the church happands to sponsor the art event.)

You see,  they usually have art shows that display artists works & they sell them there. I was asked to do a painting. I did but didn't expect it to be sold but, it was and was bought for $45.00 on the spot!
And to make a long story short I've been asked to make more paintings since there's another show comming up in november.

I plan on creating as manny paintings as possible & hope to rake in some cash. It's a slow start but a rather big step in a rather positive direction. If & when you aren't too busy with collage & everthing  & tell me what you think?  Anyway take care & I hope to see you soon.

in answer to your question, for tonal work like that, I start from the left hand side of the drawing and work my way to the right so that my hand won't smudge the pencil. It's laborious but the results are very rewarding :)

I have actually recently looked up how many Fairy Tail pictures we have so you may have a category to submit to (since it is a monitored category, it is a little lame that you have to keep waiting for your pictures to be approved). There are more than 25 pictures, so as a Fairy Tail submitter, you can request a Fairy Tail category! I do not know how long it will take, but at least they will know about it!

For writing a story it is tempting to tell everything.  But if you tell everything then you end up with a page of lists, and no one wants to read that.  Focus on what moves the plot forward and have other smaller details appear in the background as afterthoughts or part of a descriptive detail.

For example:

Rina entered the courtyard.  She was wearing her favorite satin red dress.  I knew she wanted to talk to me, but I didn't know about what.  She looked really nervous.  We met by the fountain, per her request, and she stared into my eyes before she began to speak.

It sounds so much more interesting, and shorter, written like this:

I paced by the fountain and caught a glimpse of Rina as she entered the courtyard.  She fidgeted with the trim on her red satin dress as she approached me.  As our eyes met she took a deep breath, then began our secret meeting.

It is just a matter of how you weave your words together.

That is my fault. I use FAC's old layout when approving pictures, and sometimes, I forget I am using the old format, and I start commenting on people's pictures. The old format does not sync well with comments, so the comments either pop up after a while or do not pop up at all. IT'S MY FAULT. IT'S ALL MY FAULT. *cries solemnly into her hands*

Make your Yahoo/Gmail/Hotmail/etc. know that FAC emails are not spam. There should be an "unspam" button somewhere. 

most of them are showing up in spam instead of my main inbox so it does  not matter if it was in spam at all it will still act weird i have yahoo the new version

Try to mark most if not all of your FAC mail "Not Spam" ( http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_MAIL_CLASSIC&locale=en_US&id=SLN3404 ) to see if your links help or not. 

OR try changing to Gmail (I feel it is the best email I have used for FAC).

Eve if you have the New Yahoo Mail, there should be a similar Not Spam button. If you can find it, try unspamming most of your FAC emails and your Yahoo Mail will stop sending your FAC emails to Spam. After that, we could try trouble-shooting some other things.

Hey, sorry to keep bothering you with my problems, but for some reason when I go to edit my profile it just shows up as being blank. What do I do?

1. Try editing your profile on a different Internet browser such a FireFox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer.

2. Try editing your profile on another person's computer. If you are able to edit the profile on their computer, at least you have concentrated the problem to something on your computer.

3. Temporarily disable your Adblocker (if you have one), and try editing your profile again. Sometimes, adblockers block unnecessary things.

^ If anything changes with these troubleshooting ideas, you can have an idea as to what to change (browser, extensions, etc). Can you screenshoot me this "blank" screen you see and send to me through a link?

Thanks, I'll try that. I get the feeling something must be wrong with my computer or something. When I try to comment on a picture, as soon as I click on it the website logs me off. But I think that's just some random thing that happens once in a while.

Strange...that should not be happening at all! Definitely try going on FAC normally on someone else's desktop or laptop, and see the difference! Tell me the results! Lets troubleshoot this together! 

Well, I just wrote a "really" long reply, tried to submit it, and it didn't work. So I'll have to remember what I wrote.
So I tried your ideas. It's not the browser and I don't think it's the adblockers. I tried to edit my profile on another computer, which happens to be a terribly slow laptop that only runs internet explorer (which is slow to begin with) and about an hour later it was still trying to load the page. I don't really have a way to know if it would have worked, but I did notice that at the bottom it said that it was loading something from tumblr, which is where I got some of my gifs. I wondered if maybe the browser on the main computer just needs to be updated, but I don't really know.

Ah, lovely! I don't know what the problem was, but I fixed it, for now anyways. I just went in to edit my profile, didn't do anything, and then clicked save profile.
It deleted all of my stuff on there, but before I had done that I saved everything from my profile onto a document and just put it back on the page. There may still be a problem though.

Good job for having a backup profile on a document! I would not have thought of that immediately! It feels good when people can troubleshoot on their own! 

There is a chance it may have been FAC's fault though. That may explain why your problem is fixed without you doing much. 

Yeah. I hope it doesn't happen again, but at least if it does I have a temporary fix for it.

One rule I always want to point out about whats gets past and what does not is the direct allusion to sexual intercourse/orgasm/etc. If it is showing sexual body parts, okay (that can actually connect to simple artistic nudity, which the staff has discussed is okay; I have a high tolerance for nudity). However, if it is expressing direct contact/penetration/something of the like, even if the body parts are censored, it should not go through.

That is how I barricaded the porn policy.

If you are referring to your picture "Zacharie," Games » - Other Game Not Listed is a monitored category that gets sent to the AP panel despite auto-approve because many people press that category without knowing there is already a specific category for that picture (I believe the other "Other" categories are a little monitored as well). :)

No, as long as you have the picture URL, you can use any kind of gif as long as it is not a corrupted file. 

In other words, you can get use gifs from tumblr, facebook, imageshack, photobucket, google images, etc. and they should work/pop up on FAC.

For those having nonexistent comment email alerts about me, my comments will eventually pop up. It is because I submitted some comments through an old FAC version because that is how I access the Approval Panel. Naturally, that caused some comment glitches where the email alert happens, but the comment does not pop up until later.

Woman, I know you're busy and all, but I have a serious question that must be answered. I have a picture that I'm drawing (I got scanner up and running ^_^ ) but I wanted to know if it's alright to draw it on sheet music. I know I can't draw it on lined paper, because my last picture was rejected for being on lined paper. But would it be rejected for being on sheet music if that's what the picture pertains to?

Sorry for the late reply! I needed a break, so I just drew a whole bunch of pictures for my Spring Break. I am back though!

Song music sheets would still count as "lined paper," but I am not a site helper that sees lines and instantly rejects the picture without looking at its full artistic worth. We have accepted lined artwork (ex: graphing paper) that showed exceptional artistic skill before. The reason we usually reject lined artwork is that it sometimes accompanies poor scanning, the blue lines and shadows making the picture hard to see, and the level of the artwork is not worth it. 

You can submit your lined/song sheet paper to see if the other site helpers will let it pass, but if there is not much detail and somewhat doodle-level or just words, it will most likely be rejected. WHERE BE THAT COPY/PRINTER PAPER OR YOURS?! If the art piece actually has something to do with songs and music, however, the piece will most likely be approved because the paper accompanies the picture topic. 


 

It definitely does. I'll give you a hint to what it is! It has to deal with The Phantom of the Opera!! And I finally have an extra piece of sheet music to use for what I'm doing. That's why I ask XP

If that is the case, and you explain that music connection to even the type of paper drawn on (that is creative!) in the picture description, then it should certainly be approved.

Your "Broken Heart" picture was approved and did not require a violence rating because the blood was not as direct, obvious, or nearly that offending (the picture was more about the emotion of a broken heart than the violence the blood). 

In the future, just know that a violence rating is sometimes needed when the blood, gore, and offensive material is somehow a part of the picture. Otherwise, it is usually okay without the rating.

Your pictures have been approved. The bigger problem is the text box error in your message...this text box problem has been reported with the New FAC Layout Bugs & Glitches. I am not sure why the website keeps screaming all of the formatting. For now, stay away from unnecessary formatting so your comment can look relatively readable. 

I think it is the coding you are using. Try using [ ] instead of < > and see if it will help.

I have actually sent a site helper request for a certain user, but I am awaiting the webmaster's reply. Yes, I agree that we need another site helper.

The new age is peace, contests, and unbearably gradual improvement, so put your guns and swords down. I think DA is actually a super cool place. They can learn much from us, and we can learn much from them (as long as the programmers and site helpers here can keep up). We can only get better!

I say we start joining or making new contests on our own, whether it be FAC-sponsored or not. -Maybe have cash/picture/t-shirt of whatever prize. Tumblr does it all the time. As long as you trust some people, you can make many things happen!

What level nude does a Leotard (like a ballerina costume) need? mod or adult?

Depending on how sexual the pose or leotard is, you would need at least a mild nudity rating. However, if the leotard is used in a dancing atmosphere or unsexually, I usually do not care if it does not have any rating at all. :)

Photography is usually not accepted on FAC (pictures of yourself, friends, family, etc.), but if you mean taking photos of traditional artwork like giant canvases (that do not fit on small scanners), crafts, big collages, etc, then those are allowed. There are some artists that take photos of their graffiti, and that counts as a photo!
